An absolute gem of a place to stay on beautiful Waiheke Island. Peter and Caroline were incredibly gracious hosts; they were incredibly communicative, picked us up from the ferry terminal right on time, and gave us a quick tour of part of the island all before we arrived at their house. The house itself is located up on a hill overlooking the Western side of the island with spectacular views, and the rooms are large, modern, and well-appointed. Our hosts were very friendly during our stay, and made sure we had all the food and beverages that we needed (including an excellent, multi-course breakfast). It was truly a memorable experience for me and my fiancee, and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Marino Ridge for any other couple, regardless of the season.

Can’t recommend Marino Ridge enough! Caroline and Peter are amazing hosts. They’re very knowledgeable about life on Waiheke Island and gave us lots of helpful recs for our whole trip through New Zealand.
Marino Ridge has incredible views in all directions and the rooms are very comfortable. It’s a great location, with easy access to the ferry, hiking trails, and Oneroa Village.

I can't say enough about our experience at Marino Ridge. The property is stunning, with views to the bay from every room. The bathroom was like a spa, also with beautiful views, and the bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was fabulous, both in taste and presentation. Most importantly, the hospitality of the hosts, Peter and Caroline was evident in every detail. They gave us great recommendations for walking trails, restaurants, and we did a tour of the island with Peter, stopping at wineries and a distillery. I felt like we were leaving dear friends when we checked out. One more thing - the property is only 5 minutes from the ferry and close to restaurants and shops but located in a private, quiet neighborhood. It was simply the best.

We very much enjoyed our 6-night stay in the Marino Lodge with Peter and Caroline. The property is stunning - so elegant and stylish. The views are panoramic - over to Great Barrier Island and Coromandel on one side and back to Auckland on the other. The pool is a joy to swim in. And the property is so relaxing and peaceful. We loved lounging around there. Caroline and Peter were keen to ensure we had everything we needed - they take real pride in what they do. It was a pleasure to get to know them. Highly highly recommended. A rare treat!

For my wife's birthday we escaped with good friends to the haven of tranquillity that is Marino Ridge. Hosts Peter and Caroline have welcome pampering down to a fine art. The attention to detail is unsurpassed from the original choice of the location to build the lodge with its privacy and breathtaking views to its understated luxury and facilities. Everything is done to the highest standard whether it is the wine and canapes in the evening to the exquisite multi course breakfasts, the 3 course evening meal one night drawing on their experience and love of living in Italy to the quality of the massage service. Everything was faultless. Caroline and Peter are wonderful hosts who combine many talents with a passion for ensuring guests enjoy a luxurious experience enhanced by genuinely warm Kiwi hospitality. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Marino Ridge and our time with Caroline, Peter and the dogs. Close to the ferry, Peter picked us up, showed us our accommodation, gave us drinks and sat down with us to help us plan our time. Each recommendation - from restaurants to scenic drives- was spot on, and they made several arrangements for us themselves. They also accommodated a slightly early breakfast for us when one outing changed timing. No detail was missed; they even left us a cute screen cleaning cloth, perhaps noticing the messy state of my eyeglasses and IPad screen, or perhaps just being thoughtful people.
I do agree with the comment about considering adding a door or screen between the bedroom and toilet area (we stayed in the lower room with a private entrance). Others might not be bothered.
We look forward to returning; we had to depart a day early because the country in which we live was closing all air traffic so we had to return precipitously. (Even that short notice change was managed efficiently and gracefully.) Just before we left we walked down the little cove - so peaceful.
In summary, a beautiful, warm and wonderful experience.

My husband and I stayed in the Owhanake Suite for 4 nights, and it will remain in our favorite memories forever. The panoramic views of the water and flora are magical, enhanced by the sounds of the birdcalls and ocean waves. We kept the glass doors open the entire time to take advantage of the fresh breeze which kept the room temperate and lovely. The original artwork throughout the resort is outstanding and reflects the excellent taste of the owners as well as the talents of the local artists. The breakfasts are magazine worthy; as beautiful and delicious as one could imagine, and the attention to detail is phenomenal. We spent our time on the island hiking to spectacular vistas and through forested canopies and old growth jungle. We enjoyed the local wine and gin tastings, and also in-town visits to shops, galleries and restaurants. Peter and Caroline are some of the most gracious hosts we have encountered, willing to share their vast knowledge of the island and offer fun and relaxed conversation.

My wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing Marino Ridge Lodge early March 2022. From the moment you arrive until you sadly have to depart, the experience is one that we will cherish and remember forever! Peter & Caroline would have to be the most warm and caring hosts on the planet! First class service and cuisine, all within one of Waiheke's hidden gems. Marino Ridge Lodge is superbly positioned with some of the best views on the planet, the rooms and facilities are totally 5 star plus and will leave you with a lasting impression of pure opulence. Our spectacular hosts went above and beyond to deliver one epic, luxurious weekend away. Our suite, the Coromandel, was incredible, sleeping there with the ranch slider to our private balcony wide open at night, looking up to the stars was amazing! The tour around Waiheke with Peter was incredible, we covered so much and took in some of the finest scenery you can view in NZ! So quiet, peaceful, total luxury and we left feeling very much like were leaving two good friends behind! Kind regards Craig & Heather Counsell

My lovely wife whisked me away to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a significant birthday. I didn’t know we were going to Waiheke until the day before we left and I had no idea we’d be staying in such a magnificent place. Peter and Caroline were warm and welcoming from the first to last minute of our stay. We had the front room with the most magnificent view. Tui and other birds serenaded us throughout our stay. Our hosts expertly recommended all sorts of attractions and served the most amazing breakfasts. Tasty, filling and beautifully presented food. We could not recommended Marino Ridge highly enough. It was such a special treat. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks so much.

Marino Ridge is superbly located, beautifully designed and owned by hosts Peter and Caroline for many years. Our stay there was fantastic because we were so well looked after. The room was lovely and the food delicious. There is a great sense of privacy there. We walked the coastal paths and enjoyed the stunning views of the island attainable from the height of the property.
