My friend and I rented Koi Roc for a 1 night stay in Waiheke Island. We arrived super early and Jo was so helpful and kind to us. She let us put our stuff in the house, and gave us some directions to a nearby vineyard. Unfortunately, the vineyard was closed, but we were able to use the wifi until the cleaner was done to plan out our day.

Koi Roc is a little far out and away from the main spots on the island. If we had a car we might have saved some money on cabs. Almost every ride for us was $50 in NZ money. However, we toured some vineyards and drank a lot of wine, so not sure how the car would have worked for that anyways. hahaha!!! It might have been the same price regardless.

The house is beautiful!!! Our stay was comfortable and cozy. The view you can't beat it!! I wish we would have had more then 1 day out there, but that was all the time we were allotted. I would say this is more of a perfect place for couples who want to be out in the secluded areas of the island. However, my bestie and I truly enjoyed ourselves!

My husband and I spent two nights at The Pad, Koi Roic , Waiheke Island for our wedding anniversary. The location was very secluded with wonderful views looking back at Auckland city, very pretty at night with all the lights. The accommodation was excellent, our hosts were available if we needed them otherwise we had complete privacy. One of the best weekends we have had in a long time. Will definitely go back again and highly recommend this little slice of paradise. Great value for money.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights at the end of December 2010.

The booking process was very easy and we did not even see the owners, but Jo was very helpful in advance with restaurant recommendations etc

The location is awesome with your own BBQ and loungers overlooking the bay. The bed was comfortable, location lovely around 10km from the main shopping/restaurant area and very central to exploring the rest of the island.

The price is fair for the quality of accommodation, our only niggle, which we left feedback on in the lodgings, was that there were no cushions available for the loungers. Do be aware, there is no hob/cooking facility, so only the BBQ can be used for cooking anything.

A strong 4 out of 5, we would have no issue staying here again.

I am so very pleased you enjoyed your stay and I would like to thank you for taking the time to post this review. In reply to a couple of your comments: The lounger cushions were stored under the bed. It was a shame you did not find them. I will suggest to the cleaner that they place the cushions in the wardrobe so that future guests can easily see them. Our current cooking facilities include; a microwave, 6 burner BBQ which has a hob, pizza oven/grill. Kindest regards, Jo

My wife and I shared two night in Panorama which is aptly named. Great views over the bay with picture windows in the lounge diner and 2 of the 3 bedrooms.
A storm knocked out the WiFi before we arrived but everything else was spot on. A real treat of a place.

Had a couple of nights at the Koi Roc. There are two buildings, one the " pad " a one bed Bach and the other a two/three bed house. Both overlook the sea with Auckland in the distance. They are situated in a local national park and quite isolated so if you want to get out and about you will need a car or taxi. The accommodation itself could do with a refresh but it has most of the facilities you need. Enjoy..........

Quiet and relaxing "bach" accommodation. Went for our wedding anniversary and proved to be a perfect place for a couple to chill out. Comfortable and secluded. Nice walks nearby. There are many vineyards on Waiheke and you can walk to a couple from here. Apart from this you will need to hire a car, as Koi Roc is relatively remote (which is part of it's charm.)
Minor criticism is that cooking facilities are a bit basic; need a bit more shelf space.in the kitchen.
Overall - a lovely getaway. Especially good for couples seeking a romantic escape.

So glad we got the chance to stay here. Great property in a great spot. And our hosts could not have been any more welcoming and helpful. The complete package. Do yourself a favour ....

The property is immaculate. The view from the deck is amazing. The bedroom facing the water makes for a great living picture at night.

We stayed at Koi Roc as a "mini-moon" after getting married a few days previously. (Our main honeymoon is a big trip to Europe in Sept). On first impression the accommodation looks like quite a basic hut but the view more than makes up for that initial impression. It's location on the less touristy side of the island is awesome, with bush walks and great beaches nearby. We stayed in the smaller accommodation and it certainly is compact and bijou! As we were honeymooners and had mentioned that when booking this boutique accommodation we expected some more personal touches from the on site owners; perhaps a card, a personalised note, some garden flowers, or possibly some local wine. Perhaps our expectations were too high... All we got were standard typed instructions and some long life milk in the fridge. Also the towels were like cardboard and there weren't any robes.

We did have an awesome time on Waiheke but feel like there are better standards of personalised service on the island that offer better value for money.

Koi Roc is a gorgeously quiet and scenic bach, with a true Waiheke feel - you feel like you're in another world. Great place to stay for a few days to relax and unwind. You do need a car, but you can walk in the bush and down to Rocky Bay below quite easily. Or you could just sit, read a good book, sip some local island wine and enjoy the stunning view.

"Would reccomend hiring a car as it is wee way away from the centre of Waiheke, and biking may be too steep unless you are super fit, but is close enough to wonderful vineyards and restaturants to make taxis not too painful."
