Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were travelling around New Zealand for 3 weeks on our honeymoon from London and were lucky enough to stumble across Kahu i Rangi for 2 nights in Waiheke Island. The property has been thoughtfully designed by a well known New Zealand interior designer and it was a real pleasure to stay there. Our room was large, very clean, extremely quiet with amazing views over the neighbouring vineyard and valleys. Our hosts (Tony and Steve) were really welcoming and helpful, and prepared a delicious healthy continental breakfast each morning. If we are ever back in New Zealand, we will definitely be back! It was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended!

The house is stunning. The fitout is superb. Tony as a host is relaxed, accommodating and just lovely. We are smug that we got to stay here before it became unavailable and sad for everyone who has missed out. Tony is so accomplished at running a B&B, it will be worth seeking him out should he continue this work elsewhere. By the way, we normally avoid B&Bs, preferring the privacy/anonymity of houses or hotels. If B&Bs were all run like this, we would be converts. And they all need to come complete with dog and cat.

Stayed here for 3 nights in February 2018. The building and the interiors were beautiful and the surroundings were so green and peaceful (especially after the crowds at the vineyards!). The rooms were comfortable and very stylishly fitted out. There is a beautiful view of the sunset from the building and an area has been set up so you can chill with a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

The host Tony was very hospitable and kindly helped us book some of the better restaurants on Waiheke. George was just the loveliest dog. I hung out with him quite a bit as I had to work in the early mornings.

There is a trail behind the building if you fancy hiking and George can be your guide.

Also a special mention for the granola at breakfast which was delicious!

Staying here was one of the highlights of my trip to Waiheke Island. It’s a 30 minute or so drive from town but completely worth it. Highly recommended.

We had such a wonderful time at Kahu i Rangi, the luxury B&B we stayed at on Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand. Tony and Steve are fantastic and serve up a yummy breakfast. The location and views are incredible. We spent most of our time out on the porch overlooking the valley. Great spot for a glass of wine. The accommodation was clean, large and perfect for our stay. We just had to share this photo of us. A true piece of heaven on Earth.

Stunning setting high on the ridge overlooking vineyard Poderi Crisci. Beautiful building stuffed full of interesting artwork and objects. Tony and Steve were extremely friendly and welcomed us into their home along with George the dog and Maci the cat. Highly recommended for a unique luxury home away from home.

We stayed at Kahu I Rangi for a night while wine touring on Waiheke. The accommodations were spacious and wonderful with friendly hosts and stunning views. The location was on a quiet part of the island which suited us well. The common area had a fireplace and was a fantastic place for sharing a bottle of Waiheke wine while watching the sunset.
