Stayed here for 2 nights in February, the only repeat hotel from our visit 9 years ago. I believe the hotel has changed hands several times since then and the new manager has a big job to bring it up to the standard claimed. It is yet another beautiful setting in NZ, very

We had a great stay at the portage. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the chocolate brownies awesome. The hotel is quite secluded, the perfect place for a honeymoon. A big thank you to all the staff for making our honeymoon special.

Kia ora, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for providing your feedback. My apologies you didn't receive our usual friendly and warm welcome on this occasion. We have a lounge area right beside reception with several comfy chairs, based on your feedback, I have moved one of these to right beside the Reception desk. Thanks for the tip and enjoy the rest of your trip.

Kia ora Pete, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The Marlborough Sounds is a quiet, magical place, one best suited for relaxed types people. We think our views are simply breathtaking and am pleased you enjoyed them too! Our Restaurant, bar & cafe which is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner has meals available from $10 to $40 each to cater for all budgets. Our beverages a reasonably priced also. I am pleased you noticed our new signage and acknowledged the fact the property has undergone a lot of work in the past 4 months with more to go. I hope you can come back again soon. Take care and thanks for choosing to stay with us. Kind regards, Stacey
