Bay Vista Waterfront Motel offers the only Picton accommodation ON the waterfront. We aren't just a motel, but a destination. Wake up to the sound of a Tui or Cacadas in our native bush and the smell of the sea at your doorstep. All our waterfront units are all north facing for all day sun & located right on the water’s edge with stunning views overlooking Waikawa Bay & the Marina. We are only 5 minutes by car from Picton township & have ample of off street parking for boats and trailers. It's only a short stroll to the local restaurant at the Marina, the boat launching ramps and playground.

Had an amazing stay here with the family over the Christmas holidays. Nice tidy rooms with everything you need. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice and close to the boat ramps and restaurant at the marina. Reasonably priced. Will be back for sure.

After driving up from Queenstown over a few weeks this was the halfway point and as we waited to go across to the North Island, we needed to take a few days away from takeaway meals and cities and towns and this place was perfect. The rooms were massive, and the view was incredible. After weeks of driving, sitting out the front with a book doing nothing was awesome and picking up plenty of fresh vegetables and groceries in town and cooking our own meals in the full-size kitchen was delightful as well. Staff were hardly noticeable but there when we needed, and the place is absolutely stunning. It is a walk into town (or 5min drive) so if that is what you are after then stay closer, but this was perfect for us. Cannot rank highly enough.

We loved staying at the Bay Vista Waterfront in Picton! It’s located just a couple of miles outside of town on a beautiful calm bay, with countless birds to watch from that charming little patio. We loved it! Our room was quiet, comfortable and had a perfect view of the bay. It was very clean and comfortable for the two of us for 3 nights. We really appreciated the kitchenette. A small container of milk was provided for our morning coffee and tea, which was lovely. We appreciated the coin operated washers and dryers near reception. We highly recommend the Bay Vista Waterfront!

Very lucky to get this awesome motel unit at short notice when the weather turned nasty and e couldnt get out into the Sounds. We had a middle unit of three or four, unrestricted view of the bay. Very comfy bed and a single in the lounge was ideal for our son.. helpful staff, spotlessly clean. Shower was one of those round fronted ones, a bit of a squeeze for hubby :)

We stayed at the ultramodern and super comfortable 2-bed apartment at Bay Vista Waterfont in Waikawa beach for 3 nights. Nature and pure relaxation. The uninterrupted view was magical. A very well appointed apartment with everything one needs when on holiday. The beds were very comfy, the bathroom and kitchen squeaky clean and daily housekeeping was included. Sky TV incl movies were available. We were so busy boat and bird watching and could have stayed much longer. An added bonus was the discounted meals at the local restaurant which we frequented a few times. Thank you so much Rachel and team, we will be back!

Nice spacious and comfortable hotel overlooking the bay. Just a few minutes from town in a quiet area. After travellingband landing in Picton from the ferry we enjoyed the relaxing and very comfortable overnight stay with a very calming view.

We have now stayed at Bay Vista and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Each unit is absolute waterfront with outlook over Waikawa Bay.. Is set back from the road and very quiet. Rachel and her team are very pleasant and provide excellent service. Units are modern and well maintained. Thoroughly recommended

The view of the bay was so beautiful. The lounge and dining areas were very large with everything we needed available. Used the laundry which was great. Bathroom was very spacious with plenty of storage. The staff were very friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Incredible location, the view has to be experienced to be believed. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Stayed here in 2019 and when we decided to return to New Zealand this was the first place we booked again. And it didn’t disappoint. We had a two bedroom apartment. Kitchen had everything we needed. Shower was great. On the practical side, there is a washing machine that we could use, along with a dryer as well as a clothesline which is very handy.
