Rather like a pot luck dinner, we booked this place hoping for the best regarding location. It wasn’t until we arrived at the Broadway Motel, that a chance booking had turned up trumps. Location wise. Handy for travelling within the area: easy walking distance to the waterfront and Beachcomber Cruises: restaurants , cafes and convenience stores a short stroll. Our groundfloor unit was spacious, clean, and more than adequate. On site parking provided. Our hosts too, were friendly, accommodating, and happy to share their knowledge with us. Two nights came to an end all too quickly. David R
After a long day of driving and a ferry crossing across Cook Straight this motel was a relaxing, comfortable rest before carrying on with our trip. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and air-condition. Looking forward to staying again on our way home.
I had booked for a surprise getaway for hubbies birthday....10 days ago got the worst health news for him so left messages to cancel as our whole trip Was off. Owner charged me first nights accommodation and refuses to refund stating she never received phone message. Started yelling on phone at me and then hung up. Would never recommend this motel based purely on no compassion
We chose to stay here as we had to catch the early ferry to Wellington so had to be up early. The L shaped room was larger than I expected with the bed in one part of the L and in the other a couch, small table & chairs and kitchenette. There was a small balcony that meant you could sit outside if you wanted to. The room was quiet considering the road and train track were on one side. Certainly appreciated a ground floor unit with parking right outside. The bed was comfortable. Big walk in shower.
Arrived late in to Picton and had to find somewhere to stay, luckily we found the Broadway, we stayed for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer, motel was very clean, incredibly comfortable and the host could not have been friendlier.
I forgot my wind jacket and had a Marlborough sounds cruise planned on the day of our arrival in Picton. The weather turned and got very very windy. The owner, I think Gill, was so kind to give me her wind jacket so I could enjoy the tour as I was generally chatting to her about our plans. I was so grateful, else it would have been a disaster for me. This going over and above just added to our comfortable stay to make it truly exceptional. We also slept hard and fast for the 2 nights there, the rooms were so comfortable. Even with the small kitchen, it had all amenities so we cooked 2 meals in the room too!
Good location to both ferry and cafes in Picton. Lovely clean room on the ground floor. Friendly relief manager at checkin. Used the laundry as had dirty washing. Had never seen Picton so quiet. Walked to Cordelia restaurant on the waterfront area. Not much open but this is a great place with excellent pizzas. Also recommend the Picton Bakery. Called in on way to 7am ferry checkin.
The rooms are lovely, We had a sweet view out the back from a private terrace. Hosts are very helpful. Everything about the good sized unit was clean and attractive. This motel is easily accessed from the Interislander ferry, and is a short walking distance to pleasant main road shops in the quiet South Island town of Picton.
We stayed for one night after arriving on the ferry from Wellington. This was our second stay and we found it as good as we remembered. The room was clean and comfortable, with good wifi and the spa bath was a treat after a long day. Friendly service and close to shops and restaurants. Definitly on our revisit list.
Stayed recently. Booking over the phone was fast, efficient, easy. On arrival everything was organised and we were shown compassion for our situation in that check out time was altered. So good! Super friendly. Great room, great price. Would stay there again.
