The self contained garden cottage was just perfect giving us the privacy and restful surroundings to recover from our two day journey from Wales, UK. Every window looks out onto the garden, the mountains or the bay in the distance, so you really feel at one with nature whilst the night skies are a sight to behold with the Milky Way clearly visible . The little veranda is a beautiful suntrap with garden chairs. A big plus is that there is a washing machine as well as the small kitchen, sitting area and big comfy bed. Breakfast was served in the house, two minutes walk away and was beautifully presented and prepared by Jane, the host, in the dining room with panoramic views over the bay and mountains beyond. There is an adjoining, communal lounge area with the same views but we were happy to stay snug in our little cottage.. When we ventured out we were blown away by the Summit Road drive which led us to a deserted Le Bon Beach, a wonderful memory of our first day in NZ.. Highly recommend taking a sailing trip on Fox II to see the Hector dolphins . …

One of the nicest B&B’s in New Zealand. It is our 3rd stay and we still marvel at its beautiful views. Jayne is a fantastic host and her breakfasts a delight. Rooms are really comfortable and there is a lovely lounge in which to relax and enjoy the views. It’s conveniently placed with a five minute drive into Akaroa a quaint old French settlement on the water.

Very caring host, stunning views and an excellent breakfast: frwsh fruits, cereals, choice of eggs to be prepared, one of our best stays in our 4 weeks in NZ! This is the compact story, we need to fill to 200 words that is why you see this last sentence!

What a beautiful BnB a few minutes from Akaroa. Comfortable lounge and gorgeous views from the deck looking over the pretty garden out to the bay. Delicious breakfast and Jane is a wonderful host. Stayed one night on a road trip with my parents. Highly recommend.

We stayed just one night in this wonderful hostal. The owner, Jane, makes your stay really unforgettable. We had a wonderful room with an incredible view over the nice garden and the sea. It was like a painting, just unreal. Room and bathroom very nice and super clean. The place is really quiet to relax and enjoy nature. Jane made a wonderful breakfast in her living room. We loved to meet her cat Rosie and have the oportunity to talk with other guests. Really very familiar atmosphere, we enjoyed it a lot and would have liked to stay more time in this place. About 5 minutes to the center of Akaroa where you have diferent restaurants and can enjoy the nice walk near the sea and life the history of this unique place. Thank you Jane for this wonderful experience. Highly recommended. We would love to come back. Francisco and Ute …

Words can't describe how good this place made us both feel! Jane was very friendly and attentive, even to the point of putting herself out to look for a lost item after we moved out. Her communication was excellent, and you got the feeling she was personally invested in making our trip enjoyable. Brilliant local knowledge as well!Gardens were excellent, rooms were very tidy, everything we needed was there. Rosie the cat was very sociable. We will be back, if only to have that delicious restaurant quality breakfast. You have to pay for quality, this was exceptional. We will return for our special wedding anniversary.

This was a three night birthday treat for an Auckland wife and Grandmother, her choice, and the accomodation immediately proved worthy of that decision. Our welcome and ongoing care from our host Jane made us feel truly comfortable, almost like being at home except we don't have a cat called Rosie or chickens to provide fresh eggs every day. L'Abris is a place to come back to, why chance the unknown.

Beautiful luxurious accommodation with sea views and an amazing garden. Everything was thought of with no short cuts on quality, luxurious Linden leaves products to use in the big private bathroom, high quality bed linen with gel underlay, China cups and a nespresso maker with accompanying shortbread and chocolates. The breakfast was restaurant quality using fresh eggs from the pet chickens and local salmon. Our host Jane was super lovely and welcoming. We had to pinch ourselves that we had not died and gone to heaven while walking through her garden of Eden. A true luxurious retreat. Will definately return for another stay and great value for money.

Our host, Jane, was really lovely and the cottage was cozy with a great fan heater. Being August we were a little concerned about accommodation heating, but it was really comfortable. The breakfast was awesome, with home made muesli and fruit, and local smoked salmon with free range eggs from Jane's own chooks. Only 3km from Akaroa, it was really handy to all amenities and shops. We would highly recommend L'abri B&B for a lovely stay.
