You cannot lock your own room, because there's no lock, and cannot wear shoes inside the place. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place unless you have four wheels drive, the entrance is very steep and the road to the place is very narrow. Would not recommend
Absolutely beautiful! Very relaxing! Great accommodation. Friendly staff and the views were amazing. The swimming with the dolphins tour they do was amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough an absolute gem.
We camped one night and stayed in our car for two after realizing it was the same price. The view from the car park is stunning and, to be fair, the camping area is beautiful too. We were able to do a beautiful beach and ridge walk- although there was a lot of laughing over the ambiguous nature of the trail. Through fences, under hot wires, and amongst pastures- it all added to the experience. The little beach was beautiful and we were lucky to have a sunset picnic all to ourselves. The drive to get there was quite intense. I’d say the road itself is not friendly to a lot of vehicles being very narrow, steep, and windy. I was always praying we didn’t meet another car. However it was always fine :) The staff were very friendly and around- which was nice. The atmosphere was very laid back. Nice to have hammocks and outdoor kitchens around. …
We escaped the parking called Top 10 of Akaroa and were so happy to find a place repecting nature, space and its clients. The whole site is wonderful with stunning views, different accommodation styles and a very friendly reception. There is no electricity for the vans and the road between the farm and the village is narrow and winding. So I would not advise for big campervans. But, all the others, run!!! You will find grassy spots, plenty of rooms, huts. Farm animals. Total beautiful nature. We stayed 5 days instead of the 2 planned.
Stayed in a star gazer hut. Was much smaller than appears in pictures, you have to crawl through the door and there is no standing room. Suitable for a hobbit. Many staff seem young and green. Heard staff discussing issues with customer complaints whilst we were sat having dinner. Very unprofessional. Not the cleanest place I've stayed and the lines between rustic and just shabby are well and truly blurred.
