The location was ideal.Breakfast was good, along with the lady serving who was very pleasant, and made us very welcome.
Room was clean Bed was comfortable,
However, our room No 21,overlooked the street outside, which is a shortcut between two major streets. The room was very warm even with radiators turned off we did stay in January and even though it was quite cold outside we had to have the window open but found this was way too noisy ,so our sleeping was very disturbed
There is obviously a noise of people walking at all times, including in the early hours.
Also the hotel advertises complimentary tea and coffee in the room, and that guests are encouraged to speak with reception if they require more of anything. However, when we approached reception regarding some milk for the room we were told there was none, due to the onsite restaurant being closed.
The onsite restaurant Sale N Pepe, where you go for your breakfast was closed for the holidays.
Admittedly the lady at breakfast, gave us a small jug of milk, but really we had no way of storing it,and found it frustrating after a day walking sightseeing etc coming back and having no facilities to have Tea of Coffee,if you require milk like we did.
We asked a couple more time but was told that there was none as the restaurant was closed and they couldn't help us.
Also No 21 has the cleaning cupboard next door. There is definitely an smell as you come out of the door.
As this cupboard was right next door every sound could be heard when someone was in there,so not ideal.

The hotel is located perfectly in the old town in Riga (mention: if you arrive there by car, book a pareking lot before your arrival). The service is perfect and very individual, the owner managed bookings for visits and gave us good recommendations for restaurants in the area. Of course also ideas for sites to see. Breakfast was packed in individual plates (COVID-19-conform) and all in the hotel was clean and tidy.

Old Riga Hotel Vecriga is situated in a good location in he old town of Riga and walking distance to most attractions, restaurants and bars in the area. The room is very clean but old style. Bathroom has a bathtub. The hotel has a small courtyard and the stairs going to the hotel rooms depicts the charm of the splendid past. However the carpet needs to be replaced since it’s already worn out. The hotel in general is safe and nice and can be recommended to tourists on a budget. The room has the basic amenities that one may need.

Stayed here for our anniversary and New Year and so glad we did. Not the biggest of hotels but that is in its favour. Situated in the very heart of the Old Town makes this the perfect base for any holiday in Riga - everywhere is just a short walk away. It’s also situated along a narrow snickleway which means it’s always quiet and even boasts its own restaurant. The staff really looked after us.

Lovely little hotel in the Old Town of Riga. A short walk to all the sights. We had the room in the loft, which was very quiet. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff. They were very accommodating to our constantly changing plans.

The only shame was that there was no mini bar in the room and the local tipples are really nice to try. But if you like to go out drinking in the evening, then that will not be a problem for you. I also didn't manage to work out how to switch on the fridge so as to have my own drinks in the room.

For breakfast there is a really good bakery nearby, Martina's Bekereja.

Thank you, boys and girls! I would gladly stay with you again for my next trip to Riga.

Good, very clean, nice-sized room in the old part of Riga, although under the rafters so no view although there were skylight windows. Great double-bed for single use, a really good night’s sleep. Electric kettle and TV although with less channels than in Daugavpils! Very helpful staff.

We loved the hotel. Great location in the most beautifully restored old town. Fab breakfast and restaurant. No complaints. A gem of a hotel in a gem of a city. The room was clean and comfy and very quiet.

We stayed for one night, having arrived from Estonia by coach. It is a 10minute walk from the bus station, follow the signs for Vecriga. The hotel is next to the Sel and Pepe Italian restaurant, on a street next to a Robert Wagner street, right in the middle of the Old Town. Very handy for sightseeing.

The room was very hot, it was 31C in Riga when we visited. There is not a lift, but we managed OK on the first floor. The room was very quiet. We would definitely return, mainly because of the location and we thought it was good value for money.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for three nights between Christmas & New Year. We had an excellent time - Riga is a beautiful city and the hotel was a wonderful place to stay.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, they speak excellent English and will provide advice on where to go / how to get out and about on public transport if required.

Our room was fine for what we needed, it was spacious, clean, basic and the beds were comfortable. The room could get a little hot at times however the windows did open so the temperature was sorted quickly when needed.

There was a nice selection of hot and cold food for breakfast which we thought suited many tastes - there was a lot of variety for the nationalities the hotel provides for. It did help keep the hunger at bay when exploring the amazing city.

The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic - one of the highlights of staying at the hotel. It is right in the middle of the Old Town so a wide variety of bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and key visitor attractions can be accessed within a short walk. The huge amazing market and the main train station were only a 10 / 15 minute walk away too so a visit to the seaside resort of Jurmala was easy and very cheap. The bus stops to and from the airport are just around the corner too.

A second main highlight was the fantastic Italian restaurant (Sal and Pepe) that was available in the evening (in the same area as the hotel breakfast area). The staff and chefs were very friendly and the food was absolutely beautiful - really tasty, high quality and at a super price. We recommend!

Riga is a very beautiful and special city, we enjoyed our stay a lot. We will return to experience all the sightseeing we didn't get chance to do in the future and will look to stay at the hotel once again.

do you have a free parking service?
Answer from NaRaNl

No, they don't. The hotel is situated in the Old Riga area where most of the streets are only for pedestrians. There are parking lots in the street next to the Opera but the prices per hour are quite high.
