I booked this hotel, because of its location. 5 minute walk to Old Town, 2 minute walk to Art Noveau district, 1 minute walk to beautiful city park.

Pleasantly surprised that my room was spacious and nicely appointed, with large new towels, and sheets.

However, the best part of the stay was the staff. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable are just the tip of the iceberg to describe how welcome they made me me feel. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone made me feel like I was the most important guest in the hotel, which is how I presume they make everyone feel. The staff makes a 3 star rated hotel feel like a 5 star.

I'll definitely be back!!!!

You have the upscale restaurants around the corner. Cheaper eats within 5 minute walk. Old town 10 minutes away. The good clubs and bars are within walking distance (10-15 minutes northeast from the hotel).
Rooms are large, a bit sparse. Clean and comfy beds.
There's a sauna/jacuzzi that you can borrow for free in the basement (though the water in the jazuzzu looked a bit suspicious).
Staff is friendly. Breakfast wasn't the greatest but it made do (and it was included in the price so who's complaining).
The price is a lot cheaper than what you would pay for a similar hotel almost anywhere.
Would I stay here again? Yes I would.
Another tip; do no go to the old town for food and drinks. There are a lot cheaper and better places than there. It's a tourist trap.
Do some research, you won't find these places otherwise.

The staff was kind and helpful, politely greeted me as I was walking through the door. I was given a free map of Riga and a little summary of where to go, what to do while in the city.

The location of the hotel was excellent! Close to most tourist attractions, a park, a shopping centre with stores such as COS or Mango. A bit far from the train station, though. I didn't mind it since I wasn't going anywhere by train anyway, but maybe someone will find this piece of info significant when deciding on where to stay.

The view from my room wasn't anything spectacular, but it was nice regardless. The TV had channels in English, Russian, Latvian and French, as well as access to Youtube. The furniture was unprepossessing, the bathroom was OK, but sadly I wasn't given any towel - even after I'd requested one.. Furthermore, one of the pillows on my bed had a seemingly fresh stain and it made me uncomfortable as I didn't know what it was.

I’ve liked this hotel in the past, but i must say that this breakfast was one of the worst I’ve had at a hotel if not the worst.

Everything was empty, there was supposed to be bread, orange juice, bacon, scrambled eggs etc but all of these things were not refilled. There weren’t even forks and knifes. I needed to ask if I wanted anything, which was frustrating, because this is supposed to be a breakfast buffet.

Also milk, yogurt and so on was standing in room temperature without any cold pads under them.

The rooms were nice, however the breakfast was really disappointing. The staff was friendly but probably needs some support and experience.

Dear Alexandra, Thank you for choosing our hotel and for taking your valuable time to give us detailed feedback. The breakfast on the particular day you described was definitely not the best our performance and not even close to the standard we want offer to our guests due to different circumstances. Please accept my sincere apologies for this experience and going without the word that we are already taking the necessary measures to improve it. We visited this hotel during a hot period of July 2022. The hotel location was central for city seigthseeing, restaurants and necessary groceries in close proximity.

The hotel was clean and staff was friendly, but things were not always well organised. The hotel parking is extremely limited, but there is a public paid parking hall nearby (12 €/day).

The breakfast was good but limited in terms of glutenfree and lactosefree choices. It was possible to get allergy free food items, but you had to seek out a staff member that understood what they were. In the breakfast area, not all hotel staff spoke English.

Good to read that in general you enjoyed your stay and same time please accept my sincere apologies for the slight inconsistencies you experienced during your stay with us, which we definitely can improve. We stayed for 3 nights in September and it quite quickly turned out how great the location of this hotel is. It is close to everything and you can easily walk also to the old city. The staff was very friendly.

The breakfast was okay and quite cheap at 10 euros per person. Everything was wrapped in plastics which I found quite weird but this might have to do with covid.

The only minus comes from the hotel room not being cleaned even when I left the "please clean my room" sign hanging on the door,

There was a very nice guy at the reception, but he tried to push an extra bed (for an extra €30) to us. It was all confusing because we came here with a baby and he made it sound as if the bed is just another option (instead of the crib), but once I said “yes” to the bed, he mentioned the price.
Another minor, but important thing is that the phone in our room does not work. When I gently complained to a guy at the front desk, he said “yeah, but you won’t need the phone except for when you need to call the front desk.” Well, duh.
Otherwise, the location of this hotel is superb, and it definitely has a certain “19th century old Europe” atmosphere to it, but beware - our room smells like old dirt. It looks absolutely clean, but the smell is there.

Overall, our stay was not bad. The evening manager gave us some hot water to make tea which we really appreciated! At night, it was a bit too hot and the room had no AC (which is common in Europe). We had to open the window and it was pretty noisy outside (there was apparently a party in the building across the street). I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends but would be extra careful with all the minor details.

Dear PomonaPomPom, Many thanks for choosing our hotel and for taking your valuable time to give us a such a detailed feedback. I am happy to hear that in general you enjoyed your stay with us. Same time I want to underline we do not try to push anything. The extra bed cost at our hotel 30eur, what is clearly stated in all our online channels. The reservation was done for two adults and one child without any indication of childs age, so I offered the extra bed or baby crib free of charge as kids under 12 can stay free of charge if using existing bedding. My sincerely apologies for the phone, but unfortunately it was not possible to fix right away. Despite several conversations between us you never mentioned the smell in the room, as we would be more than happy to change it right away. Best regards from Riga and we look forward to welcome you soon back with us. Sincerely yours, Janis Valodze General Manager

Given our around 200 nights per year of hotel stays, this and last year being covid reduced, we are practical in what to expect and appreciative of hotels that go even beyond those.
Our stay was here just to get a quick nights sleep on our way to Tallinn. But we stayed a bit longer to enjoy the property. Understand this property is going to go through renovation. It has tremendous potential. And I can see this property as being wonderful. The people were friendly and attended to all our requests. I understand this hotel too was closed for a while so some of the problems were related to it. The bathroom had a bad smell and it took a while before it went away. The safety box could not be used. Change of room was offered but we declined since we did not want to be bothered by it. Will look forward to coming back to this property once it has been renovated. Would recommend this property without hesitation.

We really loved this hotel. Imposing facade hides a modern and charming hotel. Stained glasd windows in the staircase combined with up to day lifts are a good example of preserving old and up to date technology. During our stay the hotel was still undergoing renovation. Minor inconvenices were created by works were handled efficiently and considerate manner by the staff. Needles to say, bathrooms, bed and bedding were new and of good quality. In over all, the hotel felt couple of notches higher than the price. The interior of the bar was very cosy with books and magazines. The bar provided perhaps limited, but excellent selection of drinks and decent coffee. Jolly hotel manager seemed very proud of his hotel and duly so: I can wholeheartedly recommed this establisment.

Just had a shorty city break with friends and spent 3 nights there.
The hotel is part of the Accord chain which I use a lot when in France. Unfortunately I lost my phone and had to buy another on arrival - the manager and receptionist were super helpful in getting me sorted in the meantime and went to great lengths to help out which I very much apprecaited as I had no means no contacts friends in the old town.

The hotel is 10-15 mins into the old town but the walk is lovely, through parks and open spaces.

The facade gives no indication of the modernity of the hotel - it is nicely refurbished and has a very relaxed feel. Lots of spaces to sit around and chill out.

It's in a mainly residential area (quite a few embassies in the locale) but there's a Costa, couple of supermarkets and some really nice restaurants on the doorstep.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the old town but want to escape the evening noise.
