Hotel KRISTOFS is a boutique style family owned hotel. It is situated in the very heart of Old Riga in 18th century mansion. There are 10 rooms in the hotel: 7 doubles, 1 twin, 2 Family rooms. Rooms are big enough for an extra bed and/or a baby cot. One of the Superior Double rooms has antique wooden furniture; other rooms have a rather modern layout. Our guests have great opportunity to relax enjoying the beautiful view of the roofs and towers of Old Riga. Goldfish in a pond complement the lobby's décor.

Location is perfect but due to not having staff in nighttime makes it one scary place. Frontdoor is opened with a code at nighttime and how many knows it...?
Lobby & restaurant is fasinatinginly renovated. Have a canarian bird and fishpond but rooms.. old, very old, wooden floors, dreadfull old beds and linen smelled dusty(?) very much. Room was so COLD... Staff was friendly and breakfast plenty & good. Used to be called hotel Mann-Tess and many signs were still on that name.

A huge room for 3 of us. Lovely views over Riga. Nice and warm. Breakfast was simple. Hosts were very pleasant and very knowledgeable about the local area. Location was great (shops, loads of restaurants, close to Christmas markets, close to local parks, museums, escape rooms etc.) Would definitely return.

We arrived around 5.30 pm, hoping to catch the opera at 7. A taxi brought us to the locked door of the hotel. Ringing the bell got no reaction. What to do? Some people came out, so we managed to squeeze in, and found an envelope at the reception desk with our name on it. Take lift, up one flight of stairs. I would not call it a "flight of stairs". More like a dark and narrow, and extremely steep ladder, that felt downright dangerous to squeeze ourselves and our suitcases up. The room itself was large and clean, but the beds looked like something you would expect to find in a camping cottage. Of course, it would be impossible to get a proper bed up that ladder. Bathroom looks clean, but stinks of sewage, pinch your nose if you have to go in there.
Going out, still hoping to catch the opera, we risked our necks again down the so called stairs, but faced again the problem: How to get in again once we go out? No explanation was given, an no one answered the management´s phone for the first ten tries. From other guests, we learned that they had received an email with a code for the door. On the eleventh try, we got an answer, and was texted the precious code.
I suppose not sending us the code is an honest mistake - but not warning guests that they will sleep in a death trap in case of a fire, and have to risk their necks every time they enter or leave their room, and that you have to manage your luggage up a so called staircase that a really big suitcase would not fit through, is unacceptable. We are in our sixties. Had we been a few years older we would not have been able to reach our room at all, and had we been told all of this when we booked the room, we would have stayed somewhere else.

Immaculate huge room (#31) breakfast was much better than we expected, better than some we've experienced from 5* hotels!
Quiet street right in the middle of everything. Staff were friendly, helpful and offered suggestions for meals and sights.
2 slight niggles room was very warm! And perhaps having a bottle of water in rooms?
We loved this hotel and will definitely stay here again if we visit Riga again.

This lovely small hotel is well located and has a very welcoming and intimate atmosphere. Our room was enourmous and even more beautiful than it looked on the website and the price very reasonable. The breakfasts are excellent, I highly recommend the crepes and the boiled aggs I had were cooked perfectly. We had a nine month old baby with us and the staff were very helpful and understanding. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special place to stay in this beautiful city.

We chose our hotel in Riga based on reviews, location and pricing, and we chose well. Even though we had the "budget" room (at a very nice rate), the room was spacious and we did not have the feeling at all we had a "budget" room.

Our beds were very comfortable with good matresses and pillows. The room was clean and the bathroom was also pleasant to use. The only thing I could comment on was the shower. It seems the hotel has a boiler to heat up their water, so when it's morning rush it can take up to 10 minutes before the water gets from ice cold to luke warm. When it does warm up though, it's a pleasant hot shower.

Because the hotel is quite small, breakfast is limited, but it does run from 8:00 to 11:00 and the staff is ready to get you a coffee or tea and to restock if they run out of food. We were very happy with the toaster!

The hotel is located perfectly in the middle of Old Town. Walking distance really means walking distance: in 2 minutes time you're at St. Peters Church. The hotel is in a quiet street however, not near a night club or anything that causes a lot of noise at night. The hotel has a 24/7 reception, so you do not have to worry about a curfew.
The hotel area has a lot of restaurants you can choose from, which makes it an ideal base to fresh up after a day of sightseeing before going to dinner.

The staff seemed quite stoic to us Western Europeans, but they were always very kind and helpfull. After checkout we could leave the bags and they ensured us it was no problem and we could use the bathroom if we liked and they would call us a taxi when we were ready to go to the airport.
Taxi service arrives in 10 minutes and it was exactly EUR 15 for the ride to the airport. WiFi was free, stable and fast.

All in all we were very happy in this hotel, and we would stay here again in the future if we will visit Riga again.

Stayed at Man-Tess for 3 nights i n October.

The hotel Website writes "There is a conference hall on the 5th floor where you can discuss your problems and relax enjoying the beautiful view of the roofs and towers of Old Riga." This is not true - there is a hotel room on the 5th floor.

I think there were fleas in the bed - I got 5 musterious bites on my arms. It was insufficiently soundproof - from both the other rooms and the street. The breakfast was very simple in a cold lobby.

The best was the hotel location and a quite big room.

Dear Guests! As a hotel Man-tess representative i would like to give the response: 1. Since the year 2006 hotel Man-tess have made many changes and improved the service. 2. Yes, we do not have conference room now, there is now very spacious hotel room with 2 rooms connected and a balcony. This room is suitable for families with children. 3.
