Hotel is located in the center of Riga‘s historic old town. The site of the hotel is almost immediately adjacent to the city's most famous building, known as the House of Blackheads, which is a popular meeting and concert venue as well as the current official residence of the Latvian President. Both the historic 15th century St Peters Church and the banks of the Daugava River are only a short walk away. Hilton Garden Inn Riga Old Town is 11 km away from Riga International Airport, 2 km from the Riga Port and ~1.2 km from central bus and railway stations.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location for a hotel. Room was small but clean, bathroom spacious. The hotel is walking distance to hop on hop off bus stop, all the restaurants, bars, scenery, but it is located in a quiet area. Breakfast was amazing.

Wery good hotel and you can get a parking space for an extra fee! the team is super helpful. because there were not many people in the hotel, we got a higher class room as soon as we arrived, very nice rooms, silence and peace! the restaurant has a very good atmosphere, we were only there for drinks, but I am sure that the food is of very high quality! the bartender makes the best aperol spritz I've ever had🫵🏻🫶🏻🤌

Great location, lovely rooms. Staff all really friendly. Parking underneath the hotel. Only down sides, breakfast at 25euro is not worth it unless included in a B&B deal. There are signs on all tables that omelets are available on request but when I requested one, was told not available that day ! It is a good hotel though & would definitely return.

We spent 2 nights at this centrally located hotel. We checked in at 11PM to a VERY rude receptionist. Our room was actually ready, but due to constant power outages the computers and elevators weren't working, so we had to wait for the power to return for an hour. We then climbed to the 5th floor (as the elevators were still not working), to room 520, which was a standard twin room we booked with points. The room was overlooking the next door building (no view at all), featured 2 beds, a TV, an empty minibar, a safe, a desk with chair, an armchair and a coffee table. The A/C was good. The bathroom was small, with no tub and featured a shower, a toilet, a sink and Crabtree&Evelyn dispensers. Breakfast at the Beef Room was surprisingly good (for a Garden Inn). I've written a separate review about it. Bottom line - this is a basic hotel with minimal services, a central location in the old town and a good breakfast.

The hotel is centrally located in the Old Town, surrounded by various Restaurants, Cafes and Bars. Approx. 10 minute walk from Riga Bus Station. Room is spacious and clean, with comfy pillows and huge bed. Small fridge is a plus. Wifi is fast. Lastly, thank you for making my Birthday extra special. Received a complementary fruit platter. Overall it was an awesome stay.

Nice hotel, good location, clean room. The only down side was the breakfast - very poor selection considering 25 EUR charge. Good hotel for the city break. Liked the Halloween decorations in the main lobby too :)

The staff was efficient and professional. They accommodated my request for a different room and scheduled a taxi for a very early departure to the airport. My room was very clean with a comfortable bed. The buffet breakfast was very good. The big plus for this hotel is the excellent location in old town very close to many tourist sites and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance.

My partner neglected to check the box in his honors account for friends and family. As a consequence we are paying three times the rate he paid just last week at the same hotel. There was no sympathy shown for the error given and in fact a rather Soviet excuse of any adjustment or vouchers that could be provided to compensate for the substantial difference in rates would be “like breaking a treaty”. Further, if we were to spend this kind of money for the rate we were given, we could have gone to the luxurious Grand Poets across town which has a sauna and includes breakfast.

Great location, short walk to bars and restaurants, shops and other locations in the old town. Short walk to tram stops. Check in staff were friendly and efficient, housekeeping staff were also friendly (and quiet) did a great job and room was serviced without any issues every day. The small bar always seemed quiet or completely deserted so we didn't use it but looked perfectly nice. We didn't have breakfast (25 euros seemed a little pricey for a buffet breakfast, went elsewhere). Room was generally excellent, comfortable and firm bed, large television, good wifi. Good shower, iron/board, a safe, and excellent air con, I like to keep the room cool and unlike some hotels they hadn't limited the ac, could get this one down to 18 degrees C. Very pleased with the room, except for points below. First morning woken around 6am by loud slam of next rooms door, it actually made the wall and headboard of the room shake. Same again half an hour later, then again several more times until 9am (I assume the person next door went to the gym, then for breakfast and back again, couple more slams and then presumably out). Every time I started to get to sleep again - slam! Loud as a gunshot. The door on our room would close slowly and quietly, but I heard other doors slamming loudly during our stay so assume some have worn out door closing mechanisms. This alone puts me off staying again. As we were were just staying a few nights I didn't request another room, and the second day our neighbour must have checked out as no more door slamming, so pot luck. The other issue encountered was that I thought the pillow was a little soft/thin, so on the second night I added one of the spare ones stored on the wardrobe unit. I suspect the pillow had picked up a 'guest' as the next day I had several painful/itchy red bite marks on my head and on one of my shoulders. Didn't have these after the first night so I suspect the pillow on the second night was the culprit. In future hotel stays I will be avoiding pillows that may have been on a shelf possibly for a long time and become a home for something. If it wasn't for the slamming doors and possible bitey pillows I would stay here again, I may do anyway as it was pretty good, but I'll probably have a look at other options for my next Riga trip. I'd have given it 3 and a half out of 5 if that was an option, 3 seems too low so I've gone for 4.

This hotel is in a great location walkable to all of the mist-see sites in Riga Old Town. The staff is extremely accommodating and helpful with lots of recommendations for site-seeing in and around Riga. The hotel was also very clean and a level above most of the Hilton Garden Inns I’ve encountered (at least in the United States). And the restaurant on site was tasty with a good bartender! The breakfast at the hotel was also very good with TONS of fresh options.
