Overall a good experience. The room was clean and everything was in order. We enjoyed the hedonic spa and the breakfast was decent. I like that breads were all placed in separate paper bags as a response to the current pandemic and there was a server for the hot buffet so only one person touches serving utensils.
There was a musty smell in our bedroom probably from the curtains. They should get the curtains cleaned every once in a while. The smart pad light in the room was too bright and cannot be adjusted.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Poet. A beautiful hotel with impeccable staff service and an incredible spa. It was our anniversary so my boyfriend organised with the hotel to have some special extras set up in our room and the hotel had many suggestions and plans for what could be done. It was the most beautiful surprise as there were rose petals all over the room, a beautiful display of candles, Prosecco and a delicious fruit plate. I would highly recommend this service for special occasions as it was such a lovely surprise. The spa is absolutely phenomenal and we enjoyed relaxing every evening in the sauna, salt room and steam room. We had a couples massage which was wonderfully relaxing and incredibly well done. The post-massage relaxation room was a great touch with healthy snacks and tea. The breakfast is incredibly varied and delicious with options for vegans like soya milk so I didn’t feel restricted by my dietary preferences. The location between old town Riga and the Art nouveau district makes the hotel the perfect base from which to explore the city. I would highly recommend this hotel as the best place to stay in Riga.

I and a friend stayed for 5 nights to see Riga. Our room was spotless, cosy and practical even if it wasn't that big. The breakfast is to die for - you have so much choice for every taste: from fruit, smoothies and musli to, salmon, mackerel and occasionally eel. sausages and bacon, omelettes a la minute and sparkling wine. Some small downsides: The coffee at breakfast is quite weak - you need to add an expresso to it to make it rich enough in flavour. Sometimes the omelettes were premade and stacked and that was not at all as good as those made a la minute. Our standard room was quiet although it faced the street, the bed wear and pillows were absolutely lovely. Even though the hotel was slightly north of Old Town we thought we had walking distance everywhere, to the opera, the Kempinski spa the Central station and Market hall but also to all places in Old Town. Nothing is more than 20 minutes away. In the summer you are surrounded by parks. There is an cable bus outside and not far to a trolley stop. The staff was very service minded and accommodating, answered all our questions and organized a good walking tour for us to the Jugend area to a very good price. We never ate dinner at the hotel but had a coffee and cake in the cafe, which was nice. We visited the spaon a rainy day. It was a bit crowded then in the bubble bath and the pool especially with the children. The drinking water was not in a cold cooler so it was warm. The saunas were good though. If you are of bigger size, bring your own bath robe. They don't have any over the size of XL in the rooms.I asked for a bigger one and got one from the spa that was big enough, but just barely.

Wow this hotel is really really nice. By far, the most comfortable bed I slept in - it felt like sleeping on a cloud. Everything was luxe and so well appointed in our hotel room too. COVID breakfast was well done with individual bottles of water and drinks, wrapped plates of cheese and meats and made-to-order hot food like omelettes. I’d definitely stay here again as it’s very conveniently located to old town and quiet center.

Grand Poet was the perfect home base for my visit to Riga. The rooms are fun and funky and the best was very comfortable. The location of the hotel couldn’t be more perfect – it's located right outside of the old town on a quiet street and Old Town is only a short walk away through a lovely park. This hotel had beautiful spa facilities including a small indoor pool although I will say the jacuzzi was quite cold by American standards (but I noticed this about all the jacuzzi/hot tubs that I visited in the Baltics). The breakfast buffet is very expansive with many delicious choices and the restaurant Snob is great for dinner with a very creative menu. I also really enjoyed that there was prosecco available during breakfast – it make for a very nice start to the day!

We stayed at this hotel twice while on our vacation to Latvia and Lithuania.
4 days initially and after our visit to Lithuania we returned.
It was an amazing stay. Each visit started with a champagne surprise and a very thoughtful card to greet us in our room.
We initially stayed in a Superior Twin room for the first four days. I highly recommend this upgrade if you will be here for more than a few days. We finished our last night in a Standard room and it was significantly smaller. The Superior room had a seating area and the bathroom had better toiletry products.
The breakfast was quite nice in this hotel. They had vast selection of foods to choose from. Pastries, fruits, smoked salmon, hash browns, baby potatoes, bacon, sausage and of course orange juice and champagne. All Covid rules were maintained by the staff.
We also visited their dinner place called the Snob Bar. The food was exceptional. I had an amazing duck salad, scallops and the wine was delicious.
We utilized the spa facilities as well. The various saunas and heated seating was lovely after an extensive day of sightseeing. I will say that their jacuzzi was a bit of a disappointment because it was pretty cold and so was the pool.
My friend and I both decided to have a massage. The massage that I received was not very good. I kept thinking while she was rubbing me down that it would get better, but it didn't. At 80 euros I left very unsatisfied and not very happy, but you can't win them all. My friend however said that her massage was amazing. I think she said that the name of her masseuse was Ramone, but we were not positive. In any case he was male. So if you have the opportunity to request who you get, make sure it's the guy.
I have stayed all over Europe and I would rate this hotel in the very top of my stays! If I were to return to Riga I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I will be recommending this one to all my friends in the future.

We arrived at the hotel around noon and greeted by a friendly man on reception. Even though check in wasn't until 2pm, he checked to see if our room was ready early, which it was. This was appreciated as we'd had a long night/morning travelling.

We had a standard double room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, very clean and large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was really nice, along with a shower it also had a very deep bath which was perfect to relax in following long days of walking around exploring the city. The room was also very quiet which ensured a good night's sleep.

The breakfast was plentiful, not everything to our taste, but that's personal taste and not a criticism. There was still plenty to eat, you don't walk away feeling hungry. The staff are very quick to clear tables and keep everything clean.

The hotel is perfectly located and a very short walk to the old Riga area. The hotel itself overlooks a nice park, which is perfect for an evening stroll after dinner.

The staff at this hotel are very friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Always happy to answer any questions we had regarding Covid restrictions for restaurants, bars, museums etc... so there was no confusion at all.

This was our first time in Riga, and certainly won't be our last. We would definitely consider staying at the Grand Poet Hotel on our next visit.

We searched for a nice hotel through the usual sources and this came out on top due to how nice it looked and its location and upon arrival we weren't disappointed. With a 15euro taxi drive from the airport we were greeted by a toasty warm welcoming reception after the -8 weather outside.

We had a room on the 5th floor (521) not the best of views out the window but could still see some of the beautiful Bastejkalna Park opposite. The room was spacious with a comfy queen size bed and all the facilities you expect in a high end hotel. In short couldn't fault the room.

Unless breakfast is included in the price we usually like to explore the area and try out different places but it was included here and what a selection there was, full english, continental , cereal, fish, fruits, pastries, pancakes, pretty much anything you can realistically expect and all top quality.

We paid around £130 a night to stay here and i dread to think how much it would have cost in a western country. I can't recommend the Grand Poet high enough a beautiful hotel in a beautiful city.

I fell in love with the pictures of the hotel and wanted to surprise my mom by taking her to a spring vacation. I could have not chosen better!

The location is great nearby everything, but the hotel itself is even better. We really enjoyed the details in the interior. This hotel was poetic more than by name.

Beautiful interior continued in the room, too. Luxury marble bathrooms, the beds are firm and sheets are comfy. Coffee making facilities, safety box and bathropes and slippers in the room as expected at this level. Clean and nice.

Spa visits and breakfast was included on the pricing when booking directly. At breakfast the variety of food is good and the prosecco adds a nice touch to it.

The service was excellent from arrival to leave. We got advice when needed and all our requests upon the stay were totally fulfilled. I will surely come back to Grand Poet next time in Riga.

We spent fantastic time in this nice hotel. The kindness of the staff is exceptional: Andris made us a special choice of coctails at the bar, the buffet breakfast is so delucious with many local specialities and even we arrived late everyone was very helpful and served us with wonderful hospitality. We recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to top up with good energies.
