I booked the design room with terrace. Unfortunately, the room was not available because of repair works. The receptionist gave me an alternative which I liked. My room was spacious, great in design, quiet and with a bath. Some minuses - the minibar was empty, the disposable glass for the toothbrushes in the bathroom was dirty with other guests toothpaste stains, not many options for the breakfast, no slippers or robe (you have to pay for it). 3 points goes to the hotel and 5 points - to the receptionist.

An average hotel in an up and coming area of Riga. The room was clean and the staff were helpful. The hotel claims to be 4* but it lacks a decent foyer and bar area to relax in. Breakfast was very enjoyable and there was a terrace to sit out on. Taxi from airport to hotel costs 12 euros. Enjoyed Riga immensely!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning at 02.00. The young lady on reception was very polite and welcoming.
Check-in was smooth; we had a car and the car parking had been made secure for the night so we chose to leave the car on the street until after the gates were opened. The receptionist advised parking on the street was free until 0800
When I went to reception at 07.30 the same young lady was there to greet me with a smile (sorry I don't remember her name) to put the car in the hotel courtyard which cost 10 Euro per day
The room was superb, very large and clean
It was my birthday while I was there and the hotel surprised me with a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates on the day
It is about a 25 minute scenic stroll to the city centre
Overall an excellent hotel

Location wise, hotel is in a great place. That's where the good part ends.
Hotel is advertising itself as 4 star accommodation - it's far from 4 stars.

Rooms are somewhat clean on the surface, but carpets are dirty. Found some hair on the bed the second we walked in. Shower cabin is super dirty. Shower head has never been cleaned in years (look for attached pictures). Walls in the bathroom also covered with some white residue.

Bedside table is only on one side of the bed. Same goes for the reading light. AC plugs are on one side of the bed or under the table, which is super uncomfortable.

Smallest TV I have ever seen in all of the tens and tens hotels I have visited. TV also featured about 5 or 6 channels, non of them international (no news, no sports).

Breakfast was mediocre at best - watered down juices, overcooked eggs, old (stale) bread. No boiling water for tea - only heated water.

By far not 4 stars. 4 star hotels I have been to previously are in a much, much better shape.

Nice clean, comfortable rooms. Lots of choice at the buffet breakfast and very helpful staff. 15 minutes walk to the Old Town, buts lots of interesting buildings and parks on the way. Excellent value for money.

It wasn’t our first stay here and from the experience it won’t necessarily be the last. The hotel’s location is not the greatest as it takes some time to walk to the park area and old town but you can begin admiring the art nouveau buildings of Riga just by walking around the corner. The room was clean, nice size and actually very quiet. We enjoyed the bath although the water form the bath overflow ended on the floor. The breakfast was OK but there wasn’t much variety. From a 4-star hotel I expect more although for the price the hotel offers adequate quality. Also thumbs up for the staff - they were very friendly.

We arrived on 1/12/18 for a 3 night stay, booked through Broadway Travel. Got a taxi from the airport for €15 which is not bad. Arrived at hotel to a very very dark and dingy reception area which stunk of body odour. Receptionist a young guy was very friendly and check in was smooth and hassle free. Room was very, very cold, be aware you need to bring your own toiletries as none is provided neither any tea/coffee making facilities or iron/iron board. Throughout our stay there were numerous complaints from other guests, i.e. no hot water, single bed for a couple, suitably rooms, towel rails were cold as we had as well, the list is endless. Receptionist tried to call management on several occasions but no one answered their calls, I felt bad for the receptionist as it is not their fault. There is no bar area as promoted, at the corner of the reception area are a few seats and if you need a cold drink you get it from the drink machine not a bar as promoted. Toiletries are sold from a cabinet in the reception area and it is not cheap.
As seasoned travellers this is the worse hotel we have ever stayed in and we definitely recommend you find another hotel. The travel Agency can only promote what they are being told but if you want to enjoy your holiday go somewhere else. It is a shame the only nice part of the hotel is the breakfast area which is under utilised and a newer part of the hotel, you have go to another part of the hotel for breakfast.
Sorry Rixwell but you have been very, very, very, disappointing.

This hotel is visually appealing and very thoughtfully designed. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable and the plumbing works well. The standard rooms are a little lacking in extras such as toiletries (only soap dispensers), tissues and tea and coffee making facilities but reception will provide things such as a kettle or pillows if you ask. The hair dryer in our room was very under powered and anyone with a week grip would not have been able to use it.
The staff were excellent with perfect English and really good local knowledge. They handled all our requests and questions with efficiency and courtesy.
Breakfasts were in a lovely room and the food and drink was of good quality and plentiful. As a vegetarian, I was more than happy.
This hotel was perfect for our purpose which was to have a good time in a good location. The walk into the old town is about 1km but taxis are cheap (about €5) if you have trouble with mobility or you can get a city bus tour ticket for about €13-15 which gives you unlimited travel for 2 days and will stop outside the hotel if you ask reception to request it.
We would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Myself and my wife stayed here for four nights and thought the hotel was very good.
The 2 buildings were in the heart of the Art Nouveau area in Riga and a very short walk from Alberta Iela.
The room was compact but very clean and at a good temperature.
The breakfast was very good with a variety of choices on offer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
From the hotel you can take different routes to the Old Town, which was about 15-20 minutes stroll.
All in all a good spot for a city break in Riga.

Hi, is any shampoo provided and can you drink the tap water (or is bottled water available)?
Riga, Latvia174 contributions
Dear PipG82, Yes, there is shampoo and body soap (2 in 1) dispenser in shower or near bathtub, that can be used for your body as well as for hair. Drinking water from the tap is not recommended - but it is possible to buy a water from minibar in the room or at reception lobby, or at least boil tap water using a kettle. Hotel has kettles in all the rooms. At reception lobby there is water cooler as well, to fill some bottle to take away. Kind regards, Jekaterina Sauta Hotel Director

Hi! As we live in the neighbouring country of Estonia, we actually drove there. But the hotel is only 10 km from the airport, so i think taxi will be fine and affordable.
