I had a late check in (00:45) and the hotel was open and the receptionist was there too. I was greeted with a smile, and check in was done quickly and the receptionist gave me all the necessary information needed regarding the hotel.
The room was spacious, clean and warm. The bed was a double bed, and both the bed and the pillows were comfortable to my comforts. In the room i had a large window, with a door to the balcony. In the room there was enough space to put all my bags and the wardrobe was of a good size. Although the view was a bit of a disappointment. Since the room type was a 'superior room', i expected a better view from the window. The bathroom was clean, it was warm, and the shower pressure was also good. All necessary toiletries were provided.
In the breakfast, there was a good number of different items to choose from, cereal, bread, cold cuts, hot dishes, fruit and yogurt.
The hotel is situated less than 3 minutes away by walk to the Bajza Utca Metro station, which is less then 10 minutes away to the Deak Ferenc Ter station, and was very easy to get to any place in budapest.
All in all it was a good hotel.

We were staying at that hotel for 4 nights during August 2022. We booked a room (via Trip.com) for no-smokers as we hate the smell of cigarettes. When we got to open the doors to our room we ran back to the front desk, the smell was so awful we couldn't breathe. A man working at the front desk wasn't helpful and told us he can't do anything with the smell even though we book a room where you can't smoke. Thanks to the Trip.com staff we were able to change the room, after one night, but the staff were insulting and impolite. The other thing is that the room was dirty. I know that it is a cheap hotel and I wasn't expecting much. But when I saw nutshells, used cosmetics and someone's DIRTY SOCKS behind the bad I thought I would throw up. I think the only good thing about that place is a pretty good localisation.

I enjoyed the hotel, the cleaning was good quality and the room came with a television, mini bar fridge, sewing kit, cups for mouthwash, hair & shower gel on the wall. I definitely would recommend this hotel, however we did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on this. Great location: 15 mins from central Pest on the Metro. 6 minute walk to the Metro from the hotel, 5 minute walk to a tram stop. The only downside to the room is the beds were stiffer than my partner and I are used to, and the walls were very thin. It sounded almost as though our neighbours were in our room when opening and closing their cupboards. Perhaps at a higher priced room, this would not be the case, as we had an economy room. Overall I would recommend to couples or families, as it is a well renowned establishment and quiet outside as it is outside of the central district.

Not very welcoming !
Upon arrival you are greeted with a stern unhappy receptionist whom roughly plops a piece of paper on the desk and mutters “details” no hello welcome to Hungary etc poor service from the start of the vacation.I am well travelled and I have never come across such rudeness from hotel staff it is unnerving.
They do not say hello or smile,if you are female the male staff look to you as though looking through you making you feel ever so uneasy as if women should be seen but not heard.
The room is dated which wouldn’t be an issue however the toilets are dated beyond repair, the showers do not work the bath leaves a lot to be desired, one simply wouldn’t dream of putting ones body in it.I went to a near by hotel paying staff some forints for them to kindly allow me to wash in their premises.Trying to speak to the staff in this hotel regarding the issues with the bath was challenging they refused to even try and converse with myself being female and with what little they did the response was one of they don’t understand my English which was frustrating.

Beds are basically camp beds on the floor, sockets do not work and no staff is ever able “not understand” when taking an issue to them.

5* to the bell boy he is the only person whom greeted me when he seen me and always had a friendly face.

I wouldn’t book here again this is my honest review it’s simply not a nice place.

I highly advise to not stay in this hotel! When I got to my room there was a sort of beer stain on my bedsheet. When I complained to reception they told me they are a 3 star hotel so only change the bedsheets once a week. Cleaning a hotel room is nothing got to do with being a 3 star hotel!!! I paid €300 to sleep in a beer stained bed. A member of staff walked in on me having a shower although I had a do not disturb on the door!! When I complained about this to reception the hotel manager told me “there is nothing I can do about this” an absolute nightmare!!! The room was not clean and the cleaners wouldn’t take away our empty bottles out of the room each day. When we checked out we were left with 30 bottles in the room. A 3 star hotel is about the facilities in a hotel, they are using it as an excuse to treat customers badly. The staff was so so rude.

Two reviews because two of the people who work here (man at the reception, and older gentleman behind the bar) were amazing. Otherwise, the location was terrible, the smell of the rooms were odd, there was NO WIFI ACCESS IN THE ROOMS. As a solo traveler it is absolutely crucial that there is WiFi offered in the room, and you had to go to the lobby for wifi access (should have been in the booking information) The two other workers showed no emotions, absolutely dry, were not willing to be helpful. The key for the door is not a hotel card key, it's a literal key that you have to jam and spin 100 times to be able to open and lock your own room door. I can't even talk about the bathrooms which clearly have mold on the ceilings and they must paint over the mold (like a crappy landlord in San Francisco) Such an inconvenience, easily one of the worst hotels i've stayed at.

Had a lovely stay at Hotel Benczur, the room was clean, well maintained and has a safe and mini bar. The hotel was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. There is a 24hr reception, free wifi and the hotel is located 30 mins away from the airport. The location is excellent for sight seeing, very close to Heroes Square, Museums, City Park, Szechenyi Baths and Budapest Zoo. Excellent value for money and would stay again.

Had an amazing trip in Budapest really enjoyed the experience except for the rude staff at the hotel that lack basic manners and customer service skills. Bar staff sniggering and plain rude front of house management & reception staff. Would not recommend this hotel to visit as a paying customer being made to feel inferior is not what you would expect.

This is a decent hotel. Yes it’s not centrally located, but it isn’t too far out of the way. I booked it as I was attending a concert and wanted somewhere that was within walking distance of the Puskas Stadium, so the location suited me. As it is, it is about a 5 minute walk from Heroes Square (Hosok tere) and in turn maybe 10 minutes by subway from the Deak Ferenc ter station which feeds into most of the other lines.

The hotel while maybe not looking great from the outside was clean, and staff very amiable. The room was decent size and again clean. This is where I have a few gripes. The bed was extremely low and I didn’t sleep as well as I might have. The curtain was quite flimsy and let light in from the crack of dawn. And finally, it was hot while I was there and intentionally went out leaving the window open in the hope of letting air into the room, only to get back late that night to a warm room with a closed window.

If I was to go back to Budapest I’m not sure this would be my first choice, but in saying that if it came down to price I wouldn’t be against staying here again.

We really enjoyed our 5 night break in this hotel. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful on our arrival, he even loaned us a kettle to take to our room. One in particular (Gergo) was great with a fantastic sense of humor.. Our room was clean warm and tidy. we had access to 3 English news channels. The only thing we disliked was the plastic cover on the mattress though we understand why it was necessary, but not for us.(as we are both continent) The buffet breakfast each morning was amazing, catering for all tastes. Ideal location for sight seeing as there was a thermal spa within walking distance from the hotel and the metro rail system was 5 minutes walk away.

We are close to the Heroe's Square, so the hotel is central. But that is a quiet area. The Bajza utca metro station is 300 m from us. M1 metro takes you to the "city" where the bars are. 3-6 stops only.
