The fusion of historical splendor with modern comforts contributes to a luxurious and inviting atmosphere, which, along with top-notch service and cleanliness, earns high marks from travelers. The hotel is located close to the city centre but you need to walk 10 mins til there. The interior is great and the decoration of the room modern and clean. The staff was very friendly - all of them speak English fluently. The breakfast was great - big variety but if you want poached or scrambled eggs you need to ask the staff. Just outside there is a central metro station and also a big bus station which makes the location even greater, shops and a supermarket. There are two bottles of water in the room free of charge. I wound recommend the hotel and I wound book another visit in the future!

After long i came across an hotel experience that was flawless, right from being reasonably priced (Specially with the kind of amenities & service), extremely central boutique hotel, to having classy well appointed & neat rooms, to great amenities, to an extremely helpful and lovely looking young team. Breakfast was not elaborate but sufficient and delicious. They were always there to serve and help with whatever i wanted (They changed & upgraded my room to the best street facing room without any extra cost). Situated in the central square everything was nearby, train st below, tram in front of the hotel, bus in front of the hotel next to McDonald & Burger King on each side......i wont stay anywhere else when in Budapest and highly recommend this one.

We stayed here over the Grand Prix weekend and unfortunately our flight was quite badly delayed, so we didn’t end up checking in at the hotel until 4am. Even as we pulled up outside the hotel, I was surprised by the appearance. I hadn’t thought this was going to be a bad hotel, purely a functional one, but once inside confirmed that I was certainly wrong. The reception, bar area and staircase were all finely finished and made an impression on me. Despite our late (early!) arrival, we were still given a warm welcome and our late arrival was not a problem.

We had a basic twin room and I was very impressed by the details in the room and the comfort of the beds. The room itself was not very large (for example, the door opened right next to one of the beds), but generally there was plenty of space for two us to move around without falling over each other and the bathroom was also not very large, but the shower had excellent pressure and was just what we needed before bed every night. There were also nice small touches in the bathroom, such as the cotton buds. Our room was also at the end of a corridor and faced inwards, which meant we never had a problem with any noise - inside or out!

The bar area was a good place to relax, although the drinks selection isn’t huge and I was surprised it closed as early as it did. However, when you have Budapest on your doorstep why would you stay in the hotel?! We didn’t ever have breakfast at the hotel as once we were up we wanted to get moving, plus at c. €15 per person you would want to be sure you were there to enjoy it.

One of my main reasons for choosing the hotel was its location on the M2 line and the hotel could not be any closer. It is on top of the station, so from front door to platform takes about two minutes. Very handy indeed. You could argue that many other hotels in Budapest are better located and with finer views. This is hard to dispute, as the city has hundreds of hotels and some do indeed have very fine views. That said, assuming you’re happy to leave your room and seek out the views on foot, being located next to the Metro and trams makes moving around the city very easy indeed.

We had a very good stay here and all the staff we met were very professional and polite. We would happily return in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a feedback, See you next time in Budapest! Kind regards, Franciska Forrai

This hotel is very well located on the tram line with easy access to everything in Budapest. We took in two operas, two concerts and some museums easily. Excellent restaurants were easy to get to. It's walking distance to the Erkel Theater or to the Liszt Academy ( National Music Academy ) and only a couple of tram stops to Oktogon and the metro.

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Nemzeti Budapest and what a great hotel it is. The style and decor of this hotel is somewhat “boutique” but with all the necessary requirements for today’s guests; but if you’re looking for a sterile ultra modern hotel with absolutely no character, then this may not be for you. The hotel location is perfect, the rooms are clean and breakfast has everything you would want. We had a bedroom at the front of the hotel and there was some noise from the trams outside, but this did not bother us and only added to the ambience of being in Budapest. If you are not afraid of walking, you can reach the Danube in approx 20 minutes but if not, Budapest does have one of the best public transport systems in Europe. This hotel was a real find with an abundance of bars and restaurants close by. The entire staff team were friendly and responsive when needed and I cannot find fault with the overall service.

This hotel started life as the National and retains many of its traditional features and is now part of the Accor Hotel chain.

The rooms are comfortable and decorated to a high standard. The only issue would be the inability to properly control the temperature in the room. We had to open the large windows to cool the room, which worked well with the outside temperature below 10C. We did experience some noise in the waste water system borne of activity in other rooms in the hotel.

Breakfast is a generous affair with a wide choice of cooked options together with a large selection of cold meats, cheese, fruit and cereals. The bread selection includes some interesting speciality breads complimented with jams and honeys.

Recommend this hotel for its ideal situation near to public transport for visiting all attractions in Budapest. Excellent choice for a weekend city break.

During our stay, we enjoyed the suite (on 2nd floor), the two communicative rooms (on 5th floor), the sauna, the breakfast buffet (very complete) as well as the bar-restaurant in the evening (our kids could even practice on the piano). All the staff was always available and helpful before our arrival (special thanks to Robert Tanczos) as well as during our stay (organisation for taxi, they also made a conference room available for us to wait until our rooms become available). The hotel and staff made our stay in Budapest very pleasant. It is very central within walking distance to the Jewish quarter, National Opera or the famous Széchenyi thermal bath. We would certainly come back to this hotel during our next visit in Budapest.

Me & my partner stayed for 4 nights and could not recommend this hotel enough. The decor is stunning (like most buildings in Budapest) and the rooms spacious and comfortable.

The reception team are very helpful and provided both an iron and straighteners which was a much needed added bonus!

The location is fantastic, most tourist attractions are within 20-30 minute walk, including the lively area full of bars and restaurants such as the ruin bar Szimpla Kert.

Excellent location, tram stops are immediately outside the hotel although everything is within walking distance. Reception staff were very helpful and booked our taxis for airport transfers. Bedrooms comfortable and clean, bed comfy and bathroom/shower very nice. Breakfast was spectacular, a huge variety of food and beverages to suit most tastes and champagne on ice was also offered! Overall a beautiful hotel.

The Nwmzeti Budapest is an old hotel, that obviously has been refurbished in later time. Our room was modern and clean. It was very space efficient but large enough for us. The bed var very comfortable. The reception was very helpful, both at check-in and check-out. The breakfast was plentyful and very good, in addition the coffee machine made great coffee. The staff at breakfast was very service minded. The hotel is very centrally located. It is within walking distance of most of the sights in Budapest. There are several grocery shops nearby, if that is of interest. The lagest shoppingmall in Budapest is one metro stop away. The metro is located right outside the hotel and it is very easy to use to get around Budapest. We stayed on the first floor and there was some street noise from vehicles, but that is normal for a hotel in a city center. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if I ever come back to Budapest.
