Honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, such cool designs for the rooms and so big as well can’t believe the price you get for them! If this was in London you’d be paying £300+ a night probably more. It’s in a great location close to everything, like cool bars and restaurants, and the little features like the record player and Polaroid in the room are an amazing touch. No bad comments at all, I recommend this hotel to everyone who plan to go to Budapest, and would 100% return myself.

Location could not be better actually cause almost everything is within walking distance. Hotel is part of a quite impressive building industrial style with a beautiful shop, a brandnew restaurant that looks like a botanical garden, office units and around 30 rooms. Rooms are spacious and also got the industrial look. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom with walkin shower. Service was defintely ok and although there was some confusion about the breakfast that now is no longer served in the room but in the new restaurant on the groundfloor, the guys working in the restaurant make up for it cause they are so friendly! I think it's fair to say that price vs quality was more then correct. We enjoyed our stay at Stories.

What a cool & funky hotel typifying bohemian Budapest and situated right next to the up & coming jewish district. Our room was split level with the double bed situated on a mezzanine floor above a small chillin are & shower room. In the living area there was a record player with a selection of records - great idea. We played this each morning & evening whilst getting ready. Staff in reception we were very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast is served in your room and offered a good selection that you picked from a menu the night before. All in all a top place.

This was the best designed hotel I’ve been to so far! If you are into taking pictures in extra ordinary locations, this is the place to be (shoot) everything was nice and clean, the service was very kind and we had there’s a 24 h park house just around the corner. You will be impressed by the atrium of this building with a crazy jungle restaurant (which you should book in advance) - also the breakfast was lovely. We sadly only stayed for one night, but we are coming back!

My experience at Stories Boutique Hotel in Budapest was unfortunately riddled with disappointments. Firstly, limescale in the ice and hot tub indicated a lack of proper cleanliness. The suite's sewage smell, attributed to the old building by the manager, went unaddressed. Despite the hotel's promotional party culture on social media, playing music past 8pm prompted a stern warning about noise complaints and a potential £500 fine.
The general manager's response was particularly disheartening. Instead of addressing concerns, she dismissed them, insisting the hotel was 4 stars, not 5, and advised against demanding services. Requests for a simple ironing board and ice were met with unnecessary resistance.
To make matters worse, the manager conducted our discussion in the lobby, surrounded by other guests and staff, displaying unprofessionalism. There was no apology or acknowledgment of service shortcomings. Instead, we were urged to keep our concerns to ourselves, signaling a lack of commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, this experience fell far short of expectations, and I would caution others against choosing this hotel.

Hotel very well located in the jewish neighborood. Rooms have a great retro design with all that's necessary. Room even had a record player :) Breakfast is ok but could be improved with a better buffet with fruit, and more bread options, for example. Great service and help when requested.

We had a great stay, the hotel in a fantastic location and is so old and gorgeous with loads of original features but with chic decor. The staff are absolutely wonderful and at your beck and call, so friendly and welcoming. The attached restaurant 26° is stunning, you feel like you’re sitting in a botanical garden. The vegan shakshuka is to die for (and I’m not even vegan) and there is so much choice on the menu. The rooms could do with a little TLC, there were lots of scuff marks on the wall, a build up of limescale in the corners of the bathroom and the air vent could have done with a good dusting. Under the bed had empty pistachio shells underneath so it needed a more thorough vacuum, but the rest of the room was very clean - lovely bright white pillows/sheets. I would have liked a mirror on the dressing table also. Other than that, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return to this lovely hotel.

We really liked the vibe & decor at stories & enjoyed the breakfast in the jungle everyday which was a fabulous setting and great choice. It's a very unique place to stay and the staff were also very friendly.
It's just a real shame that we had a few issues during our four night stay there. We had ants in the room and it got worse over the course of our stay. On the final night we had about 8 ants crawling over the table and about 5 on the bar. We couldn’t work out where they were coming from. I didn’t feel that the room itself was that clean, it was really dirty behind the sofa and behind the bar and perhaps that’s why the ants were there. You certainly don’t expect ants at a hotel where you’re paying £130 a night. We were offered a free taxi to the airport after telling staff but it did affect our stay.
We found the bedroom smelled very strongly of fried food, perhaps it came from the restaurant but it must have been something to do with the ventilation. All of our clothes smelled of fried food afterwards. Perhaps some nice reed diffusers or something in the apartment would help?
We also found the room incredibly warm and couldn’t work the air conditioning. We had to leave the large window open but that didn’t feel very safe.
I'm torn as to whether I'd recommend Stories Hotel based on the above. I think if the ants hadn't been there we could have lived with the bad smell & heat but on the last night it did affect how we felt about being in the room unfortunately.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The service was fantastic, the decor was beautiful and unique, and the location was ideal - you can access pretty much everywhere in the city within 5-10 minutes. Breakfast was superb (we were often so full that we couldn't manage lunch) and all of the staff were so welcoming towards us. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
