LESAR HOTEL ANGEL was built in the centre of Old Ljubljana and resides in a large medieval house, where tradition and a classic look join the modern trends and approaches of topmost hospitality. Good knowledge of the city's history enabled us to shape the living space in a way that allows our esteemed guests not only to experience a pleasant and serene stay, but also feel first hand the charm of the life led by the old townspeople who once inhabited this place. In this way, we wish to join the old and traditional with the contemporary and modern. The hotel prides itself on its 500 m2 private garden that ascends the slope of the Castle Hill directly underneath the castle tower, from where a marvellous view of Ljubljana and its surroundings may be enjoyed. The garden has an exit to the Cat's Path, one of the popular routes towards the Ljubljana Castle. We wish to offer our guests a luxury stay in a calm leisure or working environment, where they can enjoy gourmet cuisine and spend time in perfect privacy in the very centre of Ljubljana, be it in the premises of the hotel or in the pleasant hotel garden. Due to the location of the old town centre, the hotel is a perfect vantage point for various activities in Ljubljana and its vicinity.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

The location of Lesar Hotel Angel is perfect, in the old town of Ljubljana, but just a bit outside of the most heavily travelled areas so that it is relatively quiet. Because of the location you can’t park close to the hotel but they recommend a parking about 10minutes walking away. Alternatively the hotel can help you with bringing your luggage from an agreed upon location to the hotel, and to your room. The latter was particularly helpful for us, because our room (no 4) was on the 2nd floor, 3 stairs up. The location of the hotel makes it easy to walk to all the main sights and attractions in Ljubljana, except for the musea which are a bit further away. Also, there are many restaurants, several Michelin-listed close by. The hotel is upscale, classically and artfully furnished, located in an old building. Our room was spacious and afforded all comforts you could expect, including coffee and tea in the room and drinkable ( excellent) tap water. The staff is very friendly, responsive and helpful, and they truly make you feel at home during your stay. Breakfast is a highlight: it offers and incredible selection of cheeses, smoked salmon, breads, fruits, cereals, eggs, vegetables, drinks and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book Lesar Hotel Angel again in a heartbeat is in Ljubljana!

This hotel was the perfect place for comfort, staff, and the breakfast was awesome. Location provided easy access to downtown Ljubljana where you can always find people having a good time, good food, and great wine within walking distance from everything. Parking not available on site but there is a parking garage nearby for day excursions. One last comment about the staff - always helpful, rooms spotless, and desk ready to go that extra mile that makes this location special.

This was our first stay in Ljubljana and we are really pleased with our choice of hotel. We stayed 2 nights. The weather was warm and the efficient air conditioning was well appreciated. Our room was available for us early and we were contacted so that we were aware. That allowed us to drop off luggage; freshen up a little and head out for a lovely relaxed lunch.
We had a classic room which was comfortable but not huge. For 2 nights it as what we wanted. Breakfast was fabulous and there are complimentary snacks available during the day. There is a nice outdoor garden for relaxing. The welcoming staff member helped us with luggage on arrival and ensured that we had a taxi with a fair price on departure. The hotel is located just inside the "do drive" zone so when we arrived we had to walk around 200 m with our bags but when we left the taxi was able to come to the door.
We would definitely return.

How dare they ? Pathetic non caring little jerk named Leon ruined our time / holiday in an otherwise spectacular visit. The previous evening arriving in a torrent of a storm we thought we were being treated to a hidden gem, with lovely old fashioned townhouse ( think upper east side Madison Ave/ or Paris with eclectic furnishings. Although fussy and much “ around”. ( Buddha’s and zebra rugs and Chrystal chandeliers and marble fireplaces and huge rooms ( for the money -$275!) The front desk fellow ran out to us in the rain bringing us umbrellas and welcoming us. It was a a monster pain in the patoot parking. The “ Pedestrian Zone”, although nice in theory is a huge stressful hassle finding any parking as you have to park elsewhere ( as in far away) and wheel your own luggage to the place, and then carry it up the steep stairs. The man “ appeared “ to be kind to us and strongly led us to believe that we could stay an additional night if we liked as we had two rooms. I left in the morning to drive to Bled to see Sum waterfall ( a beauty) and came back @ 11 to have my phone ringing - not by the initial fellow, but from a little twisted passive aggressive angry little girly boy who actually said “ I need to leave right now !”, in a high pitched shrill. Shocked I just put the phone down. Unbelievably, he had no care in the world - not only because we are Americans in another country on holiday and that I happen to work in the media. It was shocking and deployable and so upsetting I cannot even express the stress that we incurred. Despite my urging him to call his colleague from the previous evening - which he refused to I was so furious in the 90 F degrees racing up the stairs to furiously pack. He even tried to insinuate that he would charge me overtime ! Can you imagine? When I got there the maids were standing literally outside of my door - breathing down my back for me to leave. We finally left that despicable place and checked into a gorgeous gorgeous place called AH Boutique hotel which was AAA five star elegant classy delicious and beautiful w kind service and spectacular cuisine and service for less money per night. Do not give them your hard earned money to be treated like GARBAGE.

Lesar Hotel Angel is a lovely boutique hotel and the building is really cute. It’s in a great location in the pedestrian area of Ljubljana but only a minutes walk away from parking, taxi rank and bus stops.
I had been dealing with Stasa over email prior to my stay as my original booking was when the pandemic hit and Slovenia closed down for travellers for quite some time. She was very friendly and accommodating and provided amazing customer service with prompt replies. However, on arrival I dealt with a different employee at reception who kept making me prove payment of my room (this had been booked via ebookers) and was saying the price I paid was not what the price that they were charging that day to book a room. This was repeated several times and he wouldn’t check me in straight away. I was told the family who own the hotel and live next door would not be pleased. My this point I offered to pay the additional amount which I would then get a refund from Hip Hotels with. Also, by this point I honestly was happy to go check in to another hotel as I was made to feel like a peasant. Finally, after some time, I was allowed to check in and go to my room.
My room was just a standard room and was comfortable. I am glad that I didn’t pay their their new price as for EUR 220 p/n for a single traveller it was pretty basic - old furniture, no amenities or water, and cobwebs in the bathroom. I’m sure the other superior rooms were nice. The worse part was the bathroom - there wasn’t a proper shower installed over the bath and it ended up flooding the whole bathroom. I think someone mentioned this in a previous review so obviously is an issue they know about for this room.
All in all, it’s a beautiful hotel but I wouldn’t suggest booking a standard room. It’s the worse place I stayed during my trip to Slovenia.

Hotel located within the historic center of Ljubljana. Really nice attic room, spacious and comfortable. Soundproofed, warm bathroom floor (a real treat), super comfortable bed, fluffy towels, water offered and even a small buffet of sweets and drinks throughout the day. Perfumed and retro style environments but with taste. Hearty breakfast and well stocked with both sweet and savory, with tables set and fresh flowers on the tables. There are some “flaws”, little reception, parking not available and on festive days even the nearest parking lots are full so it is difficult to park. There is no elevator but at the end in 2 flights of stairs you get everywhere. Friendly staff

It is a very central hotel, right in the pedestrian area. Small but with attention to every detail, you also have the possibility of having a cold drink or a slice of cake in the afternoon in the breakfast room. Large room, perhaps a little dark (n.10) with a huge bathroom. and free minibar.

The first value of this hotel is in its location, on the Gornji trg which is within the pedestrian area in the heart of Ljubljana. This boutique hotel is nicely decorated, cosy, but furnitures and equipments in the rooms are so so, not well maintained and not convenient (examples: dresser door lock almost broken, room is occupied by huge trunks and suitcases but they are fake, just for decoration and can not be used to store clothes). I have the Master Room, which is spacious, with 3 windows looking over the street (upgraded from the Penthouse Room because the latter could not host 3 people). But beware, some standard room such as Room #1 does not have any view, it looks directly on the roof of the house neighbor. Breakfast is fine, served at the tables since Covid-19. Service is not at the standard of a 4 stars hotel. The person who greeted me upon arrival is grumpy and unsympathetic, making me feeling not welcome to the hotel. During my stay, room keeping is done only in the morning, not possible in the afternoon (no staff available). Sometime, there is no staff at reception as early as from 6pm. I only understand at the end, upon departure, explained by another sympathetic staff, that the hotel is only occupied at 50% of its usual occupation rate due to the CV-19 crisis, and therefore staff number and working time have been slashed by 50%. Understandable, although it would be better if it is announced and explained upon arrival to avoid disappointment. So, may be my experience does not reflect the quality of the hotel in normal time but anyway, if I ever come back to Ljubljana, I think I will give a try to another hotel.

A visiting family member from the US booked this hotel to visit us in Ljubljana during our time living here. She made a mistake with the booking date, and she arrived a day too early at the hotel. In the early evening the reception appeared closed and she could not reach, and it turns out they do close the reception desk after all guests have checked in (probably because of Covid and because it is the off season in Ljubljana). Not knowing what to do, she went to a new hotel where they (over)charged her in advance for her four nights. Lesar Hotel Angel initially sent a message saying that she would be charged for the last-minute cancellation, but after we communicated with them and explained the situation, they called and in thorough detail explained they would wave the cancellation fee. They also said we were welcome to visit the hotel for breakfast and compare rooms to other locations, and they were very courteous and professional throughout. We will plan to stay at the hotel in the near future, and we will encourage our guests to stay there as well.

While waiting to depart to Ljubljana , we received a welcome email. Less than an hour later, we received a court email explaining that they had technical difficulties and our room was no longer available! What! We had booked in December and corresponded a few times. I am still waiting for an email reply asking what the technical difficulties were as the desk person had no idea. It was most likely overbooking and no sense of priority for a very early booking - and late September no less.
They did arrange for a room across the street at the Allegro which didn’t even come close to their supposed 4 star rating as our room was put back and up metal stairs to an old and pricy room with 1970s fixtures.
We had done a lot of research and we’re looking forward to a nice stay at the Lesar only to be stiffed. We did luck out with the parking and got the last spot in RUK II and otherwise loved the location and the city. Not a great first night stay however. We travel a lot and never experienced such an unexplained dis.

Afraid I can't remember this as we used other recommended restaurants. However there is another hotel almost directly opposite run by the same company and I think this is the associated one.
Car parking
The hotel is located in the pedestrian zone of the old town city center. Therefore, it is not possible to park your car in front of hotel. However, the entrance gate to the pedestrian zone is located just short walk to the hotel. The entrance gate to the pedestrian zone is located at Levstikov trg and can be used as a drop-off point and we offer a helping hand to carry your luggage to the hotel.
There is number possibilities for parking your car at nearby parking places.
Outdoor parking facilities:
The Križanke car park is only 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. Daily tariff (from 7:00 till 19:00) is 1,20 € per hour. Night tariff (from 19:00 till 7:00) is 1,80 € per night.
Indoor parking facilities:
“Kongresni trg” parking house is the closest to the Lesar Hotel Angel (500m)

I suggest you email the hotel with your request. They are very helpful. If you have the room with the fireplace - I think it was room 2 the bathroom is big enough to have a party in! Enjoy your stay.
Dear Jordan,
Lesar Hotel Angel is in a pedestrian zone, so there is no access with cars directly to the hotel. We have 2 parking spaces about 100 meters from the hotel (street parking), which can be rented for 15,00€ per day. However they need to be rserved in avance, as there are only two.
There are more places to choose from in the Ljubljana area.
