We enjoyed this hotel very much!! Many amenities you don’t find in most hotels at this price. The perfectly heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, dry sauna, steam room, slippers, cozy bathrobes, hot pot with tea bags & coffee in room, all included in the price. We had very comfortable beds & pillows. Our room had a deck with a view to the castle. The water pressure in the shower is the best thing ever!! Breakfast buffet was very good & the options were changed daily.
This time of year the air conditioning was turned off for the cooler season ahead. We are used to sleeping in a colder room at night & when we complained to the front desk person, he took care of it & gave us a fan which was perfect! We slept great & we were there a total of 4 nights. The location is just steps from the lake & many restaurants!! The property is not a modern, newly renovated building, so don’t expect what you would get for a 4 or 5 star hotel in the USA, but so many of the amenities I listed above make up for this. The man at the front desk will work hard to make you happy!!

I stayed for a weekend in this hotel and I enjoyed it. Super location, very close to the center and the lake. Very large rooms with super comfortable beds, hearty and well-kept breakfast for all tastes.
The only flaw is the pool area, the beds are too few and it was difficult to find a place, also the water was too cold. Cute sauna area with herbal tea corner. Unfortunately the spa was closed and so I could not try this service.
Underground parking is expensive, however, there is also a free outdoor parking with a dozen spaces, in periods with more people it is difficult to find a place though.
Overall I recommend it for a weekend at the lake!

The staff are very welcoming and professional. The whole feel to the hotel is cosy and well designed. Our bedroom was gorgeous with a fabulous view of Lake Bled and the castle. We also had a wonderful balcony, but at this time of year, did not spend too much time outside. The heating in the room was very efficient and easy to control. The whole area (bathroom and bedroom) was spotless and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Nice to have the provided dressing gowns and slippers which you used for taking the short trip to the perfectly heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna rooms and steam room (all inclusive in the room price)!!. The breakfast was awesome with a wonderful choice of food. The location of the hotel is right on the doorstop of Lake Bled, local supermarket and main bus station which was just a 3 minute walk away. Even as we checked out, the reception staff gave us a complimentary pot of their locally made jam. The hotel also has a luggage room should you need to leave your luggage on your last day post check out.

While we liked the halfboard buffet options, the location is excellent, there is free parking both immediately on-site and 50 meters away, the room was spacious, and the WiFi was good, there were a few things that just resulted in a poor experience. First, cleanliness: there were dead bugs lying around, the floors had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned, and worse, the toilet had pooh splatters from a previous user. Most of the staff were unfriendly (or unable to communicate), and charged us for tap water (!!!) if we wanted to drink anything with dinner. While we had booked a family room, the unit was located on the corner, so all the street noise and music from a club resonated in the room, as well as the air conditioning sounded like a jet preparing for take off. There was also no way to take a shower without completely flooding the entire bathroom floor.

We had visited this hotel back in 2015 when it was part of the Best Western group and had thoroughly enjoyed that experience, so were quite disappointed with this visit.

Response from Andreja Palhartinger, Sales at Hotel Lovec

Dear Guest! thank you for your review. We are surprised to be given only 2 points, as we read, you actually liked our hotel - from our food, to parking, room and wi-fi. We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with cleanliness. We usually get really good reviews for cleanliness and our housekeeping is really doing a great job. Maybe there was some mistake, sometimes this happens. We are sorry for not so good experience. As for the tap water charge - we charge the service, not the water itself. If you order coffee or something and water beside, there is of course no surcharge. As well as not for the water in bottles. As for the noise - yes, we can not completely shut out the noise, as our hotel is located totally in the center of the city. But with windows closed (we have A/C) there should not be any problem. We still hope you enjoyed your vacation and not so good things were just the small issues. We of course welcome you back if you will be in the neighborhood again. Regards, Andreja Palhartinger, Sales manager

It is very disappointing when you really look forward to a well earned holiday and the hotel is disappointing. It is very hard to see how this hotel could be rated as a 4*, it seems far closer to a 3. We paid for a balcony and a lake view thinking it would be picturesque. However, the lake was in the distance with a concrete shopping centre and car park in between. Little the hotel can do but highly deceptive and far from picturesque! It is beside a main road and the traffic noise was incessant. Good job we had A/C and could close the doors at night! The room was very 'tired', musty smelling and with shabby, well worn furniture. The sofa on the balcony was like something post war and had clearly seen better days! The bathroom was very cramped and once again needed a complete overhaul. Toiletries were minimal with hair, hand and body wash all in one - no conditioner! Even the staff admitted it needed updating. On the plus side the breakfast was good with a wide choice and very nicely presented. Lake Bled is stunning with amazing landscape, just pick a different hotel!

It was an ok stay, but could be better.

The hotel is quite near to the town and lake.

The breakfasts were very good with a bit of variation every day and always kept topped up with fresh food. Staff always friendly.

The room was quite small and dated, but had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was ok, a very small shower cubicle but a powerful shower with lots of hot water. The room was mainly clean except the floor was dirty, especially under the bed. The cleaner didn't replenish the tea/coffee facilities or even the toilet roll.
The balcony had a good view of the lake but the view is also over a mini shopping centre and car park, so the higher rooms have the best views. Also, the balcony furniture was not inviting to sit on, a sort of dirty sponge sofa.

There is a small free car park in front of the hotel if you arrive early enough. Otherwise there is one under the hotel but it is small and difficult to park in. For some reason this one costs 12 euros a night ( not sure why if the other one is free).

The biggest downside for us was how unwelcoming it all was. The staff on reception gave no information on check-in, or throughout our stay. There was never a greeting from them, and any questions treated like we were a nuisance. The small lounge space was more like a waiting area, and the restaurant and the pub never had anybody in it and were not very inviting.
We stayed over the Christmas period, but there was definitely very little festive feeling there. We checked a couple of other hotels which we wished we stayed in....the difference in greeting/ helpfulness and decor was amazing. We also used other restaurants and bars nearby, and every one of them gave excellent and welcoming service.

We absolutely loved Lake Bled and Slovenia. The area is beautiful and we did so much. We would definitely go back.

In summary, this hotel is ok for a base for a budget break, but we would definitely look at paying a bit more for a different hotel.

Too expensive considering it is an old-looking understaffed hotel! The room wasn't even cleaned and prepared. LOTS of hair on the floor, dust everywhere, messy windows, old bed sheets, cups and spoons dirty. Everything is just old and pretty much not clean. They are not even trying to look professional at all or to invest a bit to make it better. Wifi is working only near the balcony door or outside the room. The air conditioning is blowing out dust. The revolving door has no sensors and keeps pushing people. All this is especially frustrating when traveling with a baby. Honestly, we made a big costly mistake booking this hotel. Do not make the same mistake. You would expect and deserve a good, normal hotel at this price. There are superb 5* hotels at the Croatian seaside for the same price, with dinner included. Oh yea, and good luck closing the balcony door.

So I read the various reviews and thought I would give this hotel a chance. The hotel is in a decent location, not on the lake but only a short walk. Lobby, dining area and breakfast are very nice. My room on the other hand was NOT good at all. First, the hotel advertises air conditioning for the room but the only AC is located within one bedroom, and the AC was not cold at all. I would guess the air conditioning at its coldest was 24c/75f and in the hallway and bathroom it was much warmer. The worst part of the room was the floor by the AC was literally falling apart and coming up. When I spoke to the gentleman at the front desk he told me that they knew about the floor but they can't get anyone to fix it. I politely informed him that I was not satisfied paying for a hotel room with the flooring coming apart, which i need to walk by to get to/from the bed and simply asked to be moved to a different room. He told me that the hotel was sold out so he couldn't move my room and basically said "oh well." Not sure what I expected from the hotel other than a little effort to make our stay a little more pleasant, but I guess that required too much effort! Very disappointed in the room and response from the staff.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you very much for your review of your recent stay at our hotel. I greatly appreciate your comments about aspects of the room that need additional maintenance and the way our staff handled your issue. We are well aware of the importance of constant improvements and renovations and we can assure you comments such as yours are taken into consideration in the preparation of our plans for daily maintenance and future investments. We are also sorry that we did not do much more to solve your problem and I am sure if we would have more flexible options regarding room availability we would certainly find a better solution. Thank you also for giving us positive feedback about location of the hotel and our breakfast. Once again, we regret the fact your stay with us was anything less than completely satisfying. Wishing you all the best in your future travels.

We stayed two weeks in Bled on holiday and ate dinner almost daily. In this hotel we got by far the worst food. The pork loins ordered were absolutely inedible. We claimed this and returned the food. As a result, we were offered pork fillets as a "substitute". These were also bad underground. That's what we said. The full price was still charged. Absolutely not recommended. The staff was quite friendly overall.

We stayed here for couple of nights and we can say hotel location is not a perfect one, but still providing views over the lake and mountains immediately surrounding them. Hotel itself is in good condition, staff and service professional and friendly. Breakfast is simply great, they do a great work providing some local stuff which makes it above the average. Hotel also provides interesting animation program free for hotel guests, as we were entertained with amazing experience of an hour of traditional archery and free walking tour around the lake bled with hotel concierge Tomaz Kosir. We learned a lot about the place, Bled and Slovenia in general. Many thanks. If you are interested in these kind of things, this hotel might be the best option in Bled.

Dear Mrs Thompson, Thank you for your message and the interest shown in our hotel. The DeLuxe rooms do also feature a balcony, but the space is somewhat limited, due to the presence of the bath tub. I remain at your disposal for any further information. Best regards, Maja, Sales department
