The moment we arrived at the car park we felt welcomed at this hotel, the car parking attendant (who was there every day/night over new year) was great! The check in was easy and receptionist helpful with our questions around NYE/visiting other areas etc.
Our room was on 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the lake. It was a good size, large bed, safe, kettle, hair dryer, robes, slippers. It was cleaned daily to a high standard. The view was amazing.
Breakfast had a good choice, with fresh eggs/omlettes. Unfortunately due to the time of year New Year’s eve week it was chaotic and busy all the time.
The bar on a evening was pleasent often with piano and violin playing. Staff at the bar friendly and worked long shifts over the period we were there - it was noticed how friendly they still were despite probably being tired and rather be out celebrating new year!
Our only complaint about this hotel was the “wellness area” and that the hotel is sold as a wellness resort one of the reasons we booked was to be able to relax by the pool, saunas and in spa area. This was just not the case, the pool area was carnage full children running around, no adult only area, very noisy and no seats to sit on! Again this maybe due to the time of year but it was big negative for us as we had booked this hotel to relax! The pool is also open to anyone who purchased a day pass which we did not know. The saunas were also out of use due to a recent fire and we weren’t aware. The spa area isn’t an area just rooms got treatments. It would be good to have some time early morning or evening for adults only.
Aside from the lack of relaxing we enjoyed our stay, staff and location were great. We had a car and did a few trips out and about. The hotel is near some great restaurants - Old Cella Bled and Sova. Also close to lake, ice rink, castle and boats to the island. We would stay again as we know what town expect now!

My husband and I splashed out a little during a 4 week backpacking trip around Europe to stay here, and we found that the Rikli Balance exceeded our expectations in almost every way. Upon check in, we immediately stood out as two young travellers wearing massive shabby backpacks, probably looking a little dishevelled and feeling like we "weren't grown up enough" to be standing in the beautiful hotel foyer. The staff greeted us just as they greeted the people in line before us; like we were royalty, and so began 3 nights where we felt truly like very special guests of the hotel (even though we were nobodies!) I really can't say enough about the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. They helped us to hire bikes, find restaurants to eat at, and were generally a pleasure to interact with. We chose a lake view room which was both beautiful and spotless. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was excellent, plus we never heard noise from other guests and the balcony was a lovely large space to enjoy cards in the evening overlooking the lake. There was mini fridge for snacks and drinks and LOTS of room/storage to organise belongings. Two further things that I must stress - 1. the location, and 2. the breakfast. Both unbeatable. Locationally, this place is perfect. An absolute stone's throw from the lake, very short walking distance to several restaurants and shops, plus very very convenient to the summer tobbogan - helping you beat the queues in the morning! The breakfast selection was divine. We rushed it each morning unfortunately to fit in all our exploring, but could have made a 2 hour event of it! On top of ALL the cooked and continental options you can imagine, there was also an omelette station, plus actual honeycomb that you could break off for yourself. This was probably the best breakfast spread that I've experienced during any hotel stay. The pool was a great area to hang out in once the sun went down and the Lake became too cold. We didn't get to experience the spa but will make this a priority during our next visit. We rarely tend to revisit places that we've been to before, but the beauty of Lake Bled coupled with the fantastic experience at The Rikli Balance has us seeing many "summers at the lake" in our future!

Spent a lovely week here in September. We booked through TUI on half-board basis. The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from Lake Bled and a number of bars and restaurants. There is also a car park located in front of the hotel.
It has a well appointed lobby where the staff were friendly and helpful, there was also a bar here and a large seating area. Public areas of the hotel were all very clean. There was even a robot in the lobby which carried cakes.
We had a double room on the 2nd floor which had a lovely balcony overlooking Lake Bled with views of the castle. The room was lovely but on occasion could have been cleaned more thouroughly. It was spacious with a double bed, desk, small table and chairs and a wardrobe. The bathroom was a decent size with toilet, sink and shower and the room also had a safe and a kettle and brew kit.
The hotel also had a spa with a couple of indoor pools, hot tubs and a slide. There was also a little grassed area which was accessible from the spa which had some sun loungers. Entry to the pools in the spa was free to hotel guests and dressing gowns and towels were provided in the room. However, if you wanted to use the saunas or steam rooms there was an extra charge. You could also book and pay for treatments / massages in the spa.
There was one restaurant which we used for both breakfast and evening meals. Breakfast was buffet style serving a mixture of continental options as well as hot options including bacon, sausage and eggs etc. There was an additional egg station which cooked omelettes to order. Evening meals were also buffet style with plenty of daily changing items. The Indian chef at the food station at evening service was great and he was always keen to show his creations. On the whole the food was really good and my wife who is a vegetarian always found plenty of choice. There was also a variety of deserts as well, including a selection of ice-creams.
The hotel is ideally located close to Lake Bled and all of its attractions. One thing to consider, is that they're a lot of steps leading from the hotel down to the lake. Not a problem for us but might be a consideration for others, although it is possible to avoid the steps by making a bit of a detour.
A tip for guests staying during the summer season - ask at reception for the Julian Alp Card. This is free for guests staying in the area for 3 days or more and provides discounted access to local sights such as Bled Castle and the chairlift.
Would absolutely recommend this hotel for a stay in Lake Bled and would happily stay here again.

The atmosphere of the dining room does not improve overnight, of course. And unfortunately neither did the buffet. We found the following annoying: Breakfast time is indicated until 10:00. From 09:30 a.m. onwards, some were no longer replenished (e.g. sliced, fresh fruit). Or at 09:50 the cook started cleaning up the omelettes/waffles/etc. station. The staff, who were friendly and nice by the way, were more likely to deliver a service by the book. Schade. We also had a different idea of the wellness area than expected. Stayed here 1 night with my wife and son. Booked the hotel for the large swimming pool which is free for hotel guests. It has a water slide which kids will love, but they will need to know how to swim as the pool can be quite deep at points.
There is also an outdoor portion to the pool which is great for viewing Bled in the day.
Room was comfortable and the views of Lake Bled nice.
Breakfast spread was amazing and the food was tasty. My son loved the eggs.
There is also parking at the hotel which is chargeable at 7 euros a day.
The hotel is quite near the lake, so you will take around 5 to 10 mins to reach the lake by walking.

There are really no words to describe how much my family and I enjoy staying at Rikli Balance hotel, as my title suggests, it has really become a home away from home for us. Hotel is very spacious, with a lot of indoor spaces, big indoor pools. It is very modern in interior design but retains a feeling of mountain house due to copious use of wood. Atmosphere in the hotel is very calming and relaxing, perfect for a true holiday. It has a wonderful location, couple of minutes of walk from the stunning and fairy-tale like Bled lake. It's location slightly above the lake ensures breathtaking views, especially from rooms on top floors. Breakfast is excellent, with a lot of variety, fine selection of cheeses, omelettes prepared on demand, fresh fruit and vegetables, it really has everything you can wish for. What can be said for breakfast applies for buffet dinner. In my opinion, it is the best buffet dinner I experienced in hotels. The food is really made with a lot of care, the quality of food is such that most upper-class restaurants can hardly compare. Dishes are rotated every day, they are made with fresh ingredients, there is always nice selection for vegetarians as well, always fresh fish, wonderful desserts. When the time for choosing comes, it is a very difficult moment. Special commendation goes to wonderful, friendly and professional staff. Everyone from reception staff to restaurant staff contribute to calming and relaxing atmosphere, with an appropriate ratio of warmth and professionalism. Last but not least, do not miss the chance to try the marvelous Bled's cream pie (kremna rezina), it's really a special treat, perfect in its creaminess and balance of tastes. We stayed in Rikli Balance Hotel, in a room facing the lake for 5 nights in April and the entire stay had been wonderfully relaxing, looked after and very enjoyable. The room was very comfortable, clean, well presented and spacious with very good amenities. The staff, from housekeeping, reception, dining to wellness center had been so helpful, attentive, warm, welcoming and friendly. We would like to make a special mention to Maja from reception, who is brilliant at making us feel at home and welcome. She was very helpful with information of Bled and surroundings and provided us with useful help in getting around. We love talking to her. It is a great hotel at the lake, for romantic getaways. We would definitely visit Lake Bled and stay at the Rikli Balance Hotel again.

Very disappointing. The hotel looks quite nice, but that was it. We paid almost 1000€ for 4 nights and were disappointed in many ways. The first night we could not sleep because there was a loud fan running under the room all night. After changing rooms, we were woken up twice at 1:30 a.m. by loud rumblings from the boardwalk. The water in the shower changes from hot to cold, not to mention the lack of water pressure. We were daily at the reception, but unfortunately nobody cared. When we wanted to visit the sauna area, we found that it is charged extra (17€ / day??) The remaining “wellness” area resembles a public swimming pool and also allows external visitors. The pool with lake view does not really exist, the photo on the website is taken so that it looks as if. Dinner (buffet) was a disaster of dried, lukewarm, bland tasting dishes. In addition, the parking costs extra and at check out we were charged a “registration fee” in addition to the usual tourist tax.

We stayed for 8 days with our two teenage childred. I booked independently and asked for rooms near each other (ours lake view, theirs not). The rooms were corner rooms with one external door leading to two internal doors which meant that during the night we left the internal doors open so access was there if needed. Our room had a bath with shower over and an small seating area which was great as we played cards here on a couple of evenings. Tea and coffee making facitities and a mini bar were in both rooms. Our room had a huge balcony on two aspects with chairs, a table and lounger - the view of the lake was spectacular and worth the extra cost. Breakfast was delicious with fresh omelettes to order, waffles, fresh fruit, hot option with bacon/sausage/eggs (fried and poached), pate, cold meats and cheese's, yoghurt, honey, jams, bread, croissants, cereal, juice/tea/coffee/hot chocolate. The pools and loungers were fabulous. The children's room was smaller with a small shower but perfectly adequate, the balcony had chairs and a table. All staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was good, on a couple of occasions we couldn't get a space but we just parked by the pavement and nobody mentioned it. We would love to come back in the Autumn and we will book this hotel without a doubt.

We stayed here with our family in two rooms (3 beds and 2 beds) in the period 16.-21.7.2024. The wellness area was also disappointing, you can't even swim in the pool. The half board from the point of view of us adults was sufficient, but the 3 sons (19, 18 and 11 years old) were not very satisfied. The highlight of the holiday was the loss of the Chanel perfume from the bathroom and the absolutely unhelpful behaviour of the hotel management. We were expecting that they would offer to compensate us for not having to pay for the extras for the dinners (the total amount was 100,- EUR, as we only drank water, which would not have covered the price of the perfume worth 200,- EUR anyway). I absolutely do not recommend the hotel, the price-performance ratio is insufficient. The only advantage is the location close to the lake, but Bled is so overcrowded that we used to go swimming after hiking up the mountains to Lake Bohinj.
