My friend and I had a pleasure to stay at the Dwor for 2 nights. You can’t not fault the location and surroundings but I think this place could be magnificent in the summer rather than winter. Rooms are nice but not equipped to a 5 star hotel but perhaps 4! The furniture is pretty old, or old look like, non classy, very basic. Wardrobe door does not close properly. There was also no minibar in the room and faulty radiator. I certainly did not feel the spa atmosphere specially looking at the price and lack of resources. Food however was great and staff very friendly and polite. A cash machine inside the reception was advantageous! Would I go back? Yes I think so but in the summer only to enjoy beautiful Polish weather, nature, lake and peace.
We had decided to treat ourselves with a five night stay in a five stars hotel spa after our moving. We deserved it. We'll this hotel and spa is not a five star one. It might have been a while ago but no longer is. It is not just the old worn out infrastructures that are not being taken care properly is also the staff attitude that leaves a lot to be desired. Our room was fine size wise but it was stinking of tobacco. We were forced to keep our windows open to get it to a tolerable level. One expects one's room in a five star hotel to not smell at all and if it has to smell of something maybe for it to smell fresh and clean. Not here. We had read some reviews about the beds being too hard or too soft and even joked about it. Well the main problem with the beds was the use of lower sheets that were not big enough and have no elastics in their corners to keep them secured in its place. The result? After moving a bit on your sleep the down sheet would get all wrapped and wrinkled exposing the mattress that had no cover whatsoever. Ain't no five star hotel experience to wake upt with your face or other parts of your body laying directly on a gross mattress... Sorry. Use bigger sheets, secure them with elastics, cover the mattresses with covers that can be conveniently washed... Provide a five star service. The bathroom in the room was fine but then again the toiletries provided for a five star hotel with spa are ridiculous. A very small body milk lotion one uses after one shower and that is not replaced the next days... The spa needs another reviewon its own. We chose that one hotel spa beside being outside the city cause it looked nice on their website pics and had a Jacuzzi. Well the jacuzzi had not been functioning at all in our five night stay there. A simple paper apologizing for the inconvenience is what you got. No worked whatsoever working on it to try and repair it. No customary compensation for the guests (chocolates? Glass of prosecco? Nothing.) Their main pool is fine but the water is definitely too cold for a spa pool. The rest of infrastructures with a non working jacuzzi made the spa kind of useless.. After two days here we went to the spa again and I intended to book a treatment for myself. An 80 minute peeling and massage with citrus scrub and oil. Well, despite my boyfriend and I being the only users of the spa for the whole morning we were informed there was no appointments available for the day, the day after and just some on the aftereof the day we were already leaving. I don't expect them to clear their booking book for a guest just like that but that is definitely not a five star hotel service. The right thing to do about it is to inform your guests on arrival on how the booking for appointments of spa treatments look like and make sure that they book their right away if they intend to get any or on pur scenario trying to find a more acomodating attitude by offering maybe a shorter treatment option or extra hours for a guest. This is how one shows a five star service. The room service is slow and they only made our rooms late in the afternoon and one of the days they even left the rooms door open which is reckless and unprofessional considering our open suitcases were there and so was our laptop charging on the table. I've read some reviews stating the hotel is severely short of staff. I will not argue the opposite but none of the workers seemed extremely stressed or overworking and their attitude left a lot to be desired. On a positive note their club sandwiches and traditional polish soup offered in the room service were very nice but overall if you're looking for a real five stars hotel and spa with five stars services and amenities this ain't the one. Use your money more wisely than we did.
This hotel has high ambitions by claiming 5 stars. But it is not more than a 3 star hotel with a medioker breakfast and a spa that has seen better days. What was good? The location is quiet and beautifully located outsiade Gdansk. The rooms are bigger than average and the buildings look fantastic on the outside. That’s it... As soon as you come in you will see worn furniture and partly IKEA details. The spa has a Silence Zone but due to the fact that the bubble pool is located here, nobody is quiet... The toilet doors were not made for a moist environment so they were hard to close and looked like ****. Parking was not allowed at the entrence but even though there were spots free in the parking lot, people parked their cars there anyway; even in front of the restaurant. Worst of all was that there was a wedding on saturday that lasted till 5pm. Yes from 4 in the afternoon untill 5 in the morning! (See picture) Hotel rules mentioned a lights out policy between 22.00 and 07.00. What a joke; we had loud guests in the corridors at 03.00 and a bus with running engine outside at 04.30 with more loud guests. Ok, I will stop here and as you will understand, my advice is; spend less money on a better hotel, not this one. It is a shame because it is a beautiful location.
Yes the area is beautiful. Yes there’s old world charm. But that’s it. The spa has one staff. For the sauna you get one towel. No drinks at the relaxing area. The relaxing area is not even relaxing in terms of temperature, view or cleanliness. The rooms are tolerable but the pictures are much better than in real life. Service starts early and the housekeeping staff are noisy. The only good thing about the hotel is the food at the restaurant is quite good. Not many choices though. The hotel is far from five star and grossly understaff. I won’t go back nor would I recommend it. I would rather have stayed at the Sofitel grand sopot which I went for dinner.
We spent two nights at his hotel in April 2018 during a visit to Gdansk and loved every minute of it. The location and appearance of the hotel are wonderful. It was perfect for us. Our room was big, as was the bathroom. Everything was immaculate. It was excellent to step outside into beautiful countryside and take forest strolls. Breakfast was superb and had so much choice...hot, cold, sweet, savoury. So much choice. We took advantage of the spa facilities and absolutely loved it. Best hotel spa I have seen. So calm, clean and classy. We dined in the restaurant and the staff were so attentive and charming. The food was well presented and tasty. We loved the experience. We did not have our own transport, but found a twenty minute stroll along the country lane took us to a bus stop, where we caught the bus to Sopot. A beautiful place. We then easily caught the train from Sopot to Gdansk. There is also a train station in the nearby suburb of Oliwa, where the train can take you to Sopot and beyond or Gdansk. Oliwa is a beautiful suburb and located there, is a beautiful park in which to stroll around and relax. The whole area is fantastic. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again, for the charm, ambience and beauty of the place. Every minute was perfect. Highly recommended.
