Designed by the Czechoslovakian architect Antonin Tenzer, the Jalta hotel is one of the most important architectural pieces of the post-war period. Distinguished for its socialist architecture and ornate façade, the building features on the Czech UNESCO heritage list and it is known as one of the most luxurious boutique hotels in Prague. An exceptional story beneath the streets of Wenceslas Square. Discover a nuclear fallout shelter housed in the hotel basement, spanning two floors down with a capacity of 150 people. The bunker has been converted into a Cold War Museum. The hotel`s unique character is defined by a fusion of 1950s retro style and modern luxury, with three categories of bedrooms that become your escape from city`s lively atmosphere.

We came here for my birthday and stayed 5 days, we were upgraded to a suite on the fifth floor, great views over the square especially as the xmas market stalls were still there, very pretty with all the trees alight too.
Reception staff were amazing especially Jan.... couldn't have been more helpful.
The room was lovely and perfectly clean also nice and warm, with a huge balcony, the prices in the mini bar were very reasonable too. however i would advise to write down everything you have has with different staff cleaning your room, nothing was logged as to what you had, on checking out there were items that we hadn't used...... reception were very helpful when we showed them our list.
A huge plus is the wonderful l'Occitane toiletries super touch.
We ate in the restaurant the first evening food was very good and staff very friendly, breakfast times was organised well.
Yes the decor is a little outdated but was still in keeping with the building however there was work being carried out on the top floors to upgrade the rooms.
Wonderful stay although far too cold at this time of year for me but was good to just see the xmas market once and the festive ambience.

Stayed in a superior room, which was huge ( it was room 601 which is the disabled room so not sure if other rooms are as big). Balcony doors opened onto Wenceslas Square but it wasn’t too noisy .
We did find the room hot, and were unable to turn the radiator off. We asked reception to sort but nothing was done, so had to keep the doors open at night.
Breakfast had a really good selection. Typical local dishes as well as bacon, sausage etc, cold meats, cheese and some great apple cakes. It’s served until 11.00 am at the weekend which is great.
Cocktails were really good and only worked out at £7 each which we thought was reasonable., although there was a shortage of staff to make the cocktails on our first evening.
Would recommend for the weekend. Easy walk to the old town and near the Metro station so easy to get too and from the airport by Metro and bus.

Perfect location for a visit to Prague, right in the middle of Wenceslas Square and thus within easy walking distance of every district. We arranged a taxi from the airport via their concierge service, for a fixed price, worked well for us, being on our first visit to Prague. The hotel is smart and clean, our room had an amazing tiny and sunny balcony overlooking Wenceslas Square, a perfect people watching spot! The mini bar is well stocked and reasonably priced, the bathroom was perfectly cleaned with an abundance of towels and the bed was huge and comfortable, though I personally found the pillows too large! Our deal included breakfast, which was super, a good variety of hot and cold options, breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals, bacon, sausages, eggs, pancakes, etc etc , cannot understand how anyone could criticise the choice at breakfast! And the coffee from the easy to use coffee machine was fantastic! Overall, we had an amazing first visit to Prague, and would most definitely return to this hotel.

There’s a facade with this hotel. The common areas I.e. reception and restaurant are really lovely. My expectations post check in were therefore high. Unfortunately the rooms don’t follow through. Decoration is rather drab with our room being predominantly brown. The room hosts a dressing area which is where the bathroom door opens so you can’t really sit to use the mirror without being disturbed! There are also no plug sockets so drying hair in front of the mirror is not an option. There are also very few power points for charging phones. None by the bed which in this day and age is really not acceptable. We booked for the Christmas Eve dinner which was ok. But not worth the price tag. There weren’t enough staff for this to run smoothly and we had to ask for drink top ups. For £80 each I would not expect this. The staff were clearly under pressure. Food was better than average but didn’t wow any of us. Disappointed overall.

We stayed here just before Christmas for the weekend. It was nice to see the hotel in such a well placed location and the decorations added to the beauty.

Our room was upgraded to a front facing room which after getting engaged on the first night here added to make our stay more special. It was a good sized room and bathroom but parts of it were a little dated and some things didn’t work correctly like the lamps and tv control. The lighting in the room was actually rather dark at night and was difficult for reading and getting ready.

The bar area was lovely but needed tidying from previous customers a little and didn’t really have an atmosphere and no music. I must commend the young bar tender however as there was a man at the bar, part of a couple, who was being rather arrogant and baulchy and he didn’t once react to anything the guy was wittering on about and pretended in the end that he had better things to do: well done.

Breakfast was lovely with a good choice and lots of drinks available too. Good breakfast times as well.

One surprise was when we had a drink in our room and the white wine we opened x2 had no snapping noise when we undid the bottles and we poured into the glass stale tap water with all sorts floating in it! It’s a good job we noticed before we took a sip!
The staff on the phone did not seem overly concerned or sympathetic and same on checkout (no apology was received) however they did send a housekeeper with some more bottles promptly.

We enjoyed our stay and the hotel, sadly missing the nuclear bunker but it was a good four star as I would rate it.

Dear Barbarella, Thank You for choosing our hotel for your recent stay and even more so for such a joyous occasdion and for sharing your concerns with us. We are sincerely sorry that we have not met your expectations. Our hotel is categorized as a boutique hotel and we are keeping with the feel of the fifties since Jalta is an important part of our history therefore it might not be exactly what one expects. However that does not excuse the shortcomings you have experienced during your stay. We are constantly striving to make the guest experience better and we will take your comments to heart. We hope we can make up for your disappointment in the future. We apologize for not making your stay perfect and congratulations on your engagement. With kind regards,

We did not expect much, since the Covid situation and all the restrictions, but it wasnt that bad and once we were checked at check-in, the rest of stay was perfect. Room service is still dangerous to run, so we went to restaurant instead of room delivery and honestly say - not disappointed. The city itself if gorgeous.

Just arrived back home after a wonderful four nights stay in the Jalta boutique hotel in Prague. It was my wife’s birthday so upon arrival we requested a front of hotel room which was no problem at all. The room was nice and clean, had great facilities and a wonderful view of Wenceslas Square.

We stayed on a b & b basis and the breakfast was very tasty with lots of choice. As it was my wife’s birthday they very kindly produced some lovely surprises including birthday cake and bubbly. Even the house keeping ladies sang happy birthday!

We would just like to thank Jan (front of house manager) and Daniel (general manager) for their excellent customer service we would definitely recommend a stay in their hotel.

Sadly we were 7 hours late arriving due to storm Eunis, but the hotel was ready for us. Billed as a cool, sophisticated boutique hotel, in fact even on the key card it said it was, was a big stretch. The hotel is dated, weird wardrobe arrangement, our room overlooked other buildings, the heating wasn’t on, nor would the air conditioner work but fortunately it was ok. We booked an executive double, not sure what was executive but it was ok., maybe the dressing gowns? Great location for exploring. Breakfast was dismal. The first morning, we got up to get some food and came back to everything having been cleared from the table and when I asked the waitress she loudly proclaimed well it wasn’t me. The choice was very limited, the hot food, cold, and ran out quickly and was not replaced. The coffee machine needed cleaning and when asked the waitress surly. The shower was hot, it was comfy enough and as I say great for exploring. We enjoyed our visit to Prague it’s a beautiful city. We went to a classical concert near the Charles bridge which was wonderful.

Travelling as a family we booked two rooms for a long weekend, both were on 7th floor. Receptionist very helpful on arrival, even got into room early. Rooms clean and tidy. One major issue was air conditioning in room 702 which meant struggled to get room to a bearable temperature and poor sleep. The adjacent room we had (703) the air conditioning worked perfectly and was very comfortable. The weather was mid twenties during the day. Contacted reception twice on day two but despite assurances around the air conditioning it was no better the second night. Had to open up door onto balcony to help but, as the hotel has such a central location, this meant constant house to 3am. Note: sound proofing is excellent when balcony door is closed so traffic noise isn’t a problem. Result was another poor nights sleep. Prague is a wonderful city, it’s such a shame that a lack of sleep hampered our enjoyment.

On the plus side the breakfast buffet has a good range and also good quality. Ate in the Jalta cafe one night and food was good (although I expected a few more than the 12 French fries that arrived with a very tasty burger).

Hotel management: please, please, please sort out the air conditioning in room 702. I really would not want to have anyone else struggle the way we had to.

Perfect location. Very helpful lady on reception made a phone call to our tour guide to rearrange the trike tour (highly recommend). The room was small but we didn't spend a lot of time in it. We had a view of the square and could walk to most places but the tram is very good if your feet are tired. The restaurant is impressive. Breakfast was really good. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was typical of the local area and a little expensive. There are lots of fresh sandwich places opposite the hotel. We would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Prague .
