Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a lovely welcome and wonderful stay at the Bird Ferry Retreat! Beautiful rooms, a very spacious living room and the grounds are endless and well maintained. Alison prepared us a very tasty dinner and Andre served a very good wine to go with it. After a sumptuous breakfast we got very good suggestions on where to go next on our journey north. The seal colony was worth a visit, Gentle Annie was a good stop for coffee and muffins and the walk to Lake Hanlon beautiful. Absolutely highly recommend a night or more at the Bird Ferry Retreat.

The Bird Ferry B&B with very welcoming hosts André and Alison is a gem. A heaven of peace with unbeatable view on the ocean in a beautiful natural habitat. Perfect room & bed, cold dinner platter if you order ahead with good selection of wine, good breakfast.

The rooms are comfortable and everything you need. But the special feature of this place is the quite magnificent aspect in the wilderness with a jacuzzi overlooking it. So to appreciate this b&b you need to spend some relaxing hours there. It is about 20 minutes drive to Westport.

A marvellous getaway to Birds Ferry Lodge Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Grand View room, the room was absolutely lovely. Generously appointed, gorgeous linens, fluffy towels, fresh flowers in our room. Andre and Allison are wonderful hosts. Not only did they give us heaps of info about the area, they made us dinner reservations at a wonderful restaurant in Westport. A deluxe continental breakfast with fresh baked bread, and they were happy to cater for one guest being gluten-free. The fresh homegrown herbs with breakfast was a lovely touch. The spa pool was a lovely way to relax before bed. Highly recommend, we can’t wait to stay again!
