We have just returned from a 4 night trip to Exton Park glamping site. I've glamped before but this on a whole new level. We stayed in Kite tent in the orchard area. It was very peaceful. We were a family of 4, including a dog and two teenagers. They were thrilled to discover sockets in the honesty shop for charging up their phones! The campsite is enclosed so the dog was safe to roam around.
The tents are very well equipped, there is little else you need to bring. They provide re-chargeable lanterns and candles. Extra bright lanterns if you have them and a couple of torches are also useful to bring. The kitchen has everything you need, including a cool box with ice packs you swap in the honesty shop so food keeps fairly fresh.
The local bakery is approx. 20 min walk through the country tracks and really good. Recommend the eccles cakes particularly! We also visited the local pub in Exton village, which was very nice. And Exton is so pretty. Rutland Water is approx. 5 min drive away with lots of watersports on offer.
We highly recommend this campsite and look forward to returning or trying one of the Lantern & Larks other sites.

We’ve just returned from a weeks stay and I’m missing it already. A peaceful walled garden with enough space for our kids (4 and 7) to roam. Plenty of nature and bugs for them to spot. Then after bedtime we stayed up by the fire pit.

The site was spacious and each tent could keep to themselves with no concerns over social distancing etc. Plenty of handsoap in the tents too.

A good location for accessing Rutland Water and also Striking out a bit further if needed.

We also walked daily to the nearby bakery.

On-site the honesty shop was stocked with basic essentials (and the luxury of a magnum or two from the freezer).

The tents have most things you could want (including a cafetière). The lack of fridge makes things trickier but we knew this going in so it wasn’t a surprise and the farm shop nearby kept us stocked. There are cool boxes and frozen hot water bottles to keep things chilled.

It does get cold overnight but again we were warned of this before we set off and packed accordingly. There were also plenty of spare blankets.

All in all we are already talking about when we will be heading back for another break.

Really impressed with this glamping site! Warm welcome from site manager, spacious & well-equipped Safari tents, beautiful setting, & lovely area. Lots of space between tents, so we weren’t disturbed by neighbours & there were plenty of opportunities for kids’ outdoor games. Loved the idea of an Honesty Shop - where you can buy kindling, eggs, toilet roll, jam, etc. Posh bakery nearby is also worth a visit. We had a great weekend away!

We stayed for 4 nights as a group of 26 - ages ranging from 5 to adult.
Our stay couldn't of been better. The tents were spaced enough apart to have privacy if needed but not too far that it was a pain to walk between them. The kids had free roam around the site as it was contained. We have stayed at at Lantern & Larks previously, and this was far nicer. The one before was in Suffolk. Would highly recommend staying. Just remember to bring wasp repellent - they were rife this year.

Thanks for the review. Sorry about the wasps! We do love our trees in the orchard, but the fruit does attract them, and not much we can do about that. As we say in the blurb "you get all the sights, sounds & smells" of the countryside! Hope to see you again next year.

Our trip was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The children had a wonderful time and it was great that we felt if the children squealed we were not interrupting anyones holiday as the tents are far enough away from each other. The accommodation was clean and we loved June who welcomed us to the site. We cannot wait to book again!

We had a truly relaxing 5 day break at Lantern and Larks. It was so peaceful and tranquil just spending time with nature, particularly after the sun went down. Our 2 young daughters loved the experience of cooking on the fire pit and exploring the local wildlife. The tent was spacious and, although hot during the day, it cooled down nicely at night (we visited during a heatwave!). What a fabulous glamping experience, from start to finish. We will most definitely be back and would highly recommend Lantern and Larks to others.

We been glamping before but this didn’t have the glamour we were expecting. Everything was clean but was past it’s sell by date, broken back rests on chairs and threadbare rugs were not enjoyable. We didn’t like the insect marks on the canvas caused by previous swatting. The chilling facilities of old water bottles and the bathroom was not luxurious. It was good to be spaced apart from the other tents and the unit was spacious, but overall needs an upgrade.

Another wonderful holiday at Lantern and Larks. My two daughters, one happy dog and I just spent a fabulous holiday at Exton Park. It’s such a beautiful setting, seriously it’s just the best!
June the site manager was great, we loved the scenery and Rutland, our first visit. Albus the dog really enjoyed how safe the site was and I enjoyed a glass of wine or three in the summer weather.
We will definitely be booking again.

The other half booked glamping as a birthday treat and I asked my self why would he do that!! Glamping, I thought, was not my thing, no electric, how was I going to do my hair. No heating, no phone charging. But how I was so wrong!!
This trip was by far the best UK break I have ever been on a truly relaxing break (even with a 3 year old). Fire making, marshmallow roasting, wood walking, visiting lovely local villages, nights by the log fire. The only worry was the amount of melted chocolate I consumed.
To be able to escape reality of the world also at the moment was pure bliss. The tent was spacious and cosy. Plenty of candles and blankets also which was perfect.
June was lovely, and we felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived. We will 100% be going back 2021 for another adventure.

We stayed for the week in September and the location was outstanding. The 'tents' are fantastically appointed and give you everything you need. Getting used to just candle light was a challenge to begin with! The stove produced loads of heat and made for snug and cosy evenings. Sounds of wildlife brought the countryside inside
