Stay at the Premier Inn Hotel Glasgow Bearsden and you'll be in pole position for the walkers' favourite, the West Highland Way. But it's not all footpaths and countryside, in fact you're perfectly located for a spot of retail therapy in Glasgow and Edinburgh too. Hotfoot it to Glasgow city centre for some great shopping or to catch some live music. Or stride out towards Ben Nevis on the West Highland Way. Stroll over to some fascinating days out like the Science Centre or the Riverside Museum, then put your feet up and enjoy some mouth-watering food, followed by a nice comfy bed.

Detailed Reviews
We booked this Inn due to the close proximity to family members whom we wanted to spend quality time with. The Inn was within our price range and although the entrance area and some corridor areas look a little tired we found the room to be clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable with heating that could be adjusted to suit. The welcome pack in the room could be updated to include a decaffeinated choice and a small packet of biscuits per guest would have been appreciated after a long trip. The lovely young lady who welcomed us on arrival managed to find some biscuits - we felt she went above and beyond whenever we had contact with her also the lady she was training. Sadly this was not our experience with all reception staff.
We booked for breakfast at the Inn and were looking forward to a Scottish breakfast (including Lorne sausages, potato scones and morning rolls) also a pan Scottish loaf for toasting sadly this was not available however the English breakfast and continental choices were tasty as was the porridge.
We would stay here again due to the close proximity to family members and good transport links.

Easy check in. Room was spotless and peaceful with a supremely comfortable king size bed. Breakfast was lovely with excellent coffee. Special mention should go to our waitress Suzanne who brought us a free map of Glasgow and advised where we might consider visiting during our flying visit to the city 🙂

I stayed at this hotel for almost three weeks and I must say that the staff here are a HUGE asset to the business.
I was relocating to Glasgow (from abroad!) for work and I had four consecutive bookings because I didn't know how long I would need to find a place to live. The online booking system unfortunately didn't let me make one booking and pay to extend that, which was why it had to be done this way, but the front desk team put in a lot of effort to make my experience as seamless as possible. They arranged for me to stay in the same room so I wouldn't have to keep packing/repacking and moving my suitcases around, and did what they could with the check in/check out times so I could transition between each of my bookings fairly painlessly. I did accidentally miss a night between one of my bookings (my error, not theirs) and had to book at a different hotel as I realised this too late and there were no more vacancies; the staff here were incredibly helpful in this aspect and helped me hold my luggage overnight so I didn't have to drag all my items halfway across the city. They had also tried to find me a place at the nearby Milngavie Premier Inn but that had unfortunately also been fully booked.
Aside from being so helpful with my multiple bookings, the front desk staff were always really friendly and welcoming and had a huge positive impact on my first few weeks in Glasgow. Irons/ironing boards are available on request at reception. I wish I'd gotten all of their names but Susanne, Paris and Dougie in particular were part of this fantastic team.
I really liked the room. It was spacious and very quiet in a corner on the top floor of the hotel facing the car park at the back. The shower was fantastic - nice and strong and hot. There were a few specks of mould on the sealant in the bathroom but I don't really fault them because this is an older building that seems in quite high demand (book early on the weekends!) and it does get very steamy in the bathrooms when the shower is used.
If you have had experiences with other Premier Inns, you may be surprised that breakfast is cooked to order and not buffet-style. I understand why it is done this way here as it is a smaller hotel which can be quite quiet on the weekdays and it wouldn't make sense for them to run a full buffet breakfast.
The WiFi in my room was a bit unreliable. Sometimes there would be no signal at all, or only a weak signal. This is perhaps because I was all the way at the end of the corridor. Still, I was able to complete most of the things I needed to do online including paperwork for my new job and housing-related tasks. The spotty internet connection is the only issue I faced, and it is a fairly minor one.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Glasgow.

Room was grubby and in dire need of general updating as was the general appearance of hotel and the weed and rubbish-filled car park and entrance.
Room thermostat was set far too high and winter-weight duvet (in July), along with constant stomping from room above made sleep impossible.
The breakfast was disgusting, saturated in grease, inedible, good job customers are in charge of their own toast, but at £11 a pop, that's the most expensive piece of toast I've ever had.
We will not be returning and will advise family and friends to use another hotel for frequent trips to the area.
Worst £200 (for 1 night!) I've ever spent, feel totally ripped off.

I have written about Premier Inns before as I like them and generally think they are good value for money. I have stayed in a number of them both in Scotland and England. What I particularly like about them is that they have a bath in the en-suite not just a shower.
Check in at the Premier Glasgow (Bearsden) was quick and efficient. We were greeted by Stuart who was very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. As we were staying for 2 nights he explained that housekeeping would not be coming in to clean our room during our stay but we could ask for fresh towels if we wished. He kindly gave us the extra tea bags and milk pods we requested.
The room itself was clean and of the usual good Premier Inn standard apart from the fact that the bin in the bedroom had not been emptied and still had an empty Silvikrin hair spray can and shortbread wrapper in it.
The room did get very hot during the night and there is no way of lowering the room temperature. Also the floorboards in the hotel were very creaky and we did hear people going past and also above us.
The disappointing aspect of the stay was the breakfast which is usually good at a Premier Inn. However at Bearsden when I asked for porridge made with water I was told that; "It comes with milk in!" I have never heard of porridge oats with milk in before. Surely the porridge is not pre-made? What are they teaching Chefs these days if they cannot make porridge?! Apparently there was no way I could have porridge made with water which is strange as it has always been available to me at other Premier Inns. Therefore if you were lactose intolerant or on a low fat diet you would not be able to have porridge.
My partner wanted Flora margarine and when I asked where the margarine was the waitress replied; "It's there on the table; it's the butter!" Skimmed milk was not available either. In this day and age it seems ridiculous not to offer these options.
We were told that cooked breakfasts were made to order but sadly when our breakfasts arrived they were cold and on cold plates. I had requested lots of mushrooms which I didn't think was unreasonable as I was only having a poached egg, tomatoes and mushrooms, but I only got 4 small mushroom. Evidently the "Unlimited cooked breakfast" was, in reality, limited. We did not complain about the cold breakfast as going by the previous responses from our waitress there seemed little point.
Overall this was a good Premier Inn and the overall rating would have been higher if not for the poor breakfast.

My wife and I have stayed here several times before and it was always very satisfactory. No frills, but comfortable and clean.
We stayed over three nights this time and were surprised that our room was not refreshed every day. We used up our tea/coffe on the second day and had to do without for the rest of our stay. The room was chilly at night and in spite of following the clear instructions, the heater did not come on.
We complained about the room refreshing at checkout and we’re told that, post-Covid, you had to REQUEST anything you needed for your room !
There was a notice beside Reception, but the guy who checked us in did not draw our attention to that notice, or say anything about the lack of room refreshing. There was no notice in the room. I think this was very remiss of them, not to give a verbal advice and also not to have a notice in the room.
I hope they return to normal working soon. We have family living close by and we would like to return.
One good point - I left a very good eye-mask behind me, they found it and kept it in lost property until my son was able to retrieve it for me. In some hotels it may well have been binned !

The hotel is well situated for both visiting family in Duntocher and Drumchapel, as well as being close enough to Glasgow city centre for shopping. There is a family restaurant across the car park, McDonald's next door and supermarkets, cash machines etc just down the road. There is ample parking including two disabled bays right outside the Reception door.
The hotel itself is clean, tidy and comfortable, exactly what you'd expect from a Premier Inn. We booked in for two nights and had breakfast both mornings. The breakfast selection was decent, but the breakfast room was quite small and my husband was very disappointed to find they serve English cooker breakfast, rather than Scottish cooked breakfast (breakfast in Scotland should definitely have square sausage and tattie scones; we will be emailing Premier Inn Head Office to request this). However, Suzanne (the member of staff running the breakfast room) was wonderful! She was friendly and attentive without making us feel like we were being pestered. Our table was politely cleared, as we ate, and everything on the self-service counter was kept well topped up. My husband likes warm milk with his Weetabix and, without any reminder, Suzanne remembered this and offered to organise the warm milk for him on the second morning, as soon as we arrived.
Aside from the breakfast, the only other thing that could do with improving is clothing space. We booked a family room for us and our teen daughter. The room was great, but one small wardrobe and one drawer is not enough for 3-4 people. A small chest of drawers or bedside tables with drawers would have been really helpful.
Overall, we had a great stay and will definitely be back next time we visit our Scottish family.

It's what you expect from a Premier Inn. Very comfortable and clean, but why oh why do they insist on giving you a 10tog duvet when it's the height of summer and there is NO air conditioning. Windows don't open very far either so we roasted. Breakfast is in a tiny room and we had to wait over 30 mins after ordering a cooked breakfast. Very little choice for the continental - should have gone to the Burnbrae pub down the drive or even McDs round the corner for breakfast. To top it all it's on the flight path to the airport so gets noisy.

Very well located in Bearsden just outside Glasgow. Although near a main road is quite far back and minimal traffic noise. Staff are very helpful and rooms are scrupulously deep cleaned before your arrival which in these times is still reassuring. The restaurant is in a separate building but very short walk and offers a good selection of pub menu dishes.

Excellent Premier Inn at Bearsden. Great location for our trip as visiting our son. Staff so professional, friendly, warm and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is spotlessly clean, bright and airy. Our room was also spotless and had everything you needed. Nice coffee tea sugar milk tray, which you could replenish in reception, hairdryer, shower and hand gel, extra pillows, lots of plugs and lights - great bright light and mirror in bedroom to do your make-up, even a bottle opener. Shower very powerful and bed so comfortable. We had breakfast as well and great choice from the buffet of fruit, cereal, tea, coffee, juices, pastries and the chef cooks a lovely fresh and plentiful breakfast to your requirements. Plenty of parking. Overall would definitely recommend this Premier Inn.

usually the windows open but only so far for security reasons I think from memory
There was not anyone who checked for visitors when we stayed there. I suppose you can do it. You can ask the reception but they may not know if you don't ask them anyway ...
I'm not to sure, I think you can take pets into the hotel. When you book or just before you do double check with the hotel first but I think you can take pets with you.
You asked Candid50 this question instead of the Premier. With this said, I agree with you totally.
If there is a storm and no one can get to the hotel safely, the REALLY SMART PR DECISION should be: allow people to modify their reservation at no charge -- maintain a positive feeling with the customer who will be a repeat customer. Makes sense to me. Often the obvious and fair decisions 'don't compute' with management.

Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom24 contributions13 helpful votesIf I arrive by train in Glasgow city centre, how do I get to your hotel? I arrive on a Monday. What number bus would take me to you? What station do I get train from and what station is nearest to you...Hillfoot or Milngavie?
Hi Caroline
Thanks for your query.
Having had a look on Google Maps, both train stations are a mile away and about 4 minutes by bus.
From the Hillfoot station you can get the B10 bus, and from Milngavie station you can get the B10 or C10.
You'll find information on timetables and costs etc online should you need this or you can call the hotel team on 0333 777 7282 (option # for Reception) and they'll be happy to advise.
Hope this helps.
