We recently attended a family wedding at Boclair, what an amazing venue! Everything was absolutely perfect.
My father is in a wheelchair and staff went above and beyond to make sure he enjoyed the day and was taken into the ceremony and any meal etc first so we did not struggle navigating groups of people. There is an accessible toilet in the ground floor of the building and a ramp and disabled parking at the back of the building to allow access. Many old grand buildings struggle with accessibility due to the style of design but Boclair have done their utmost to overcome that and be inclusive. Everything was fabulous!

On arrival at this beautiful location on a December evening it was like entering a winter wonderland with such a display of bright Christmas lights on the trees of the landscaped gardens to welcome visitors, tubs of Poinsettia placed on the entrance steps and Elves to greet you on arrival, quite magical really.
The entrance hall is elaborately decorated with fine furniture and a large gleaming christmas tree being a focal point of its festive decor.
On arrival all guests were greeted with a glass of Prosecco or soft drink of your choice in the waiting area before we were politely ushered to our reserved tables.
The banquet room is on a large scale and has colour changing chandeliers which enhances the atmosphere for all the revellers on the dance floor which seats and caters for hundreds of party goers out for the evening.
The tables were all beautifully set and our 3 course meal which was served up promptly considering the amount of diners was of the highest standard and presentation and delicious to the taste buds.
I would certainly recommend this establishment for first class service in every aspect for providing our large party with such a special evening of Christmas cheer and entertainment on the dance floor till the end of the evening.
Mrs J Miller.

I booked a night in their honeymoon suite and it's pretty. The copper bath is unique, the toilet and shower room is massive and truly beautiful. I had my breakfast at the restaurant/bar and ordered full Scottish breakfast,it was nice. The place is clean, staff are okay. Their lift is working, I mentioned this because based on my experience recently, some hotels/hostels doesn't use their lifts because of the pandemic so you have to use the stairs and bring your heavy luggage all the way up.
On my second night, I booked the Bute Suite, its beautiful and the price is quite good for a beautiful room and lovely breakfast. This time I had the breakfast in my room and it was brought to me 10 minutes earlier of my requested time, which Is very good. I Had a great stay.
I originally booked for a stay last April but because of the pandemic it was cancelled and when I rebooked they charged me again for another deposit. The good thing is they were very accommodating, responded to my queries and concerns nicely until the problem was sorted.
I should say this hotel is great! I Had a nice and enjoyable stay

My husband and I had our wedding at the stunning Boclair on the 20th October. It really was the best day of our lives!! From the minute we first enquired about having our wedding at Boclair to the minute we checked out after everything and everyone was perfect! Every single member of staff that we dealt with was professional, knowledgeable and kind. The day itself run beyond smoothly, it flies past!! All of our guests have commented on how it was the best wedding/function food they have tasted, how beautiful the grounds/venue and bedrooms are and how helpful and professional the staff were. I cant recommend Boclair enough!!! Thank you all for giving us the day of our dreams xx

We had our wedding at the Boclair on the 26th February 2022 and it was the most perfect day. The venue itself is stunning with its impressive building and beautiful interior design. The venue is well looked after by a dedicated team of staff- we witnessed this throughout our many visits where all brass was polished and all surfaces were cleaned and maintained.
Lindsay was the staff member who we met with when planning the whole wedding and she was amazing. She catered for all our needs and made the experience fun and enjoyable.
Our day could not have run more smoothly. The staff at the Boclair made sure of that and were polite, courteous and professional at all times. They made the day feel even more special and we couldn’t have asked for more. They were flexible with table numbers and changes on the day as some guests were unable to make it and nothing was a hassle for them to do.
Julie, who dealt with us mostly on our wedding day, was so attentive, thoughtful and made sure everything went to plan. The meal was beautiful too and the guests plates were cleared quickly with the next course brought out shortly after. Many guests even commented that it was the best wedding they had been to.
We left the Boclair wishing we could do it all over again, they truly made our day and we would like to say a huge thank you to them for that. We had a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

We were lucky enough to host our daughter’s wedding at Boclaire House. The whole team made the day run seamlessly, all the staff know their roles and everything is executed with a swan like grace, the silver service waiters were particularly impressive and directed impeccably. The bars are stocked with a fabulous selection of gins and other spirits, the canapés, wedding breakfast, evening buffet and breakfast were all fantastic. The bedrooms are all stunning, with sumptuous towels, robes and slippers, to use when using the amazing baths & showers ( our room had a freestanding roll top bath in the bedroom) The bedding of course is high thread cotton, simply luxury at it’s best. I honestly can’t find fault with Boclaire House, and can only thank them for making our daughter’s wedding a magical day enjoyed by all.

First impressions were very positive with grand entrance and large grounds all lit up. We were all herded into a small room not fit to hold the 100 guests booked in for wedding before the wedding ceremony started. Totally fleeced with the price of the drinks. I person serving on bar for all these guests plus card machine she was issued with was faulty as very poor signal on machine attached to the WiFi. Staff young and disinterested in working, no smiles, no please, no thank you for your custom nothing. The layout of tables makes it impossible to see the bride and groom dance also the band in places too due to the building support pillars. Also not enough tables and chairs provided for the guests meaning alot of people standing around getting tired legs. Another thing staff were not bothered about was telling people to stop standing at the bar with their drinks meaning other guests could not get in to be served. Someone not entitled to be on the premises was recording the wedding photos outside the main entrance by flying a drone for in excess of half an hour and staff did nothing to remove him.

The Boclair House Hotel is a luxury boutique wedding venue located in Bearsden to the West of Glasgow centre. My wife and I fell in love with the stately architecture and gorgeous decor of the venue, and for it's close proximity to the local railway stations and hotels (more on this later).
The hotel is a Victorian sandstone ex-gentleman's retreat, that has been thoroughly and meticulously renovated and updated into a stunning venue for events and weddings. There are so many beautiful features on display, and the bar and function room are perfect for any size of gathering.
We booked using the Timeless Package, and paid for a few upgrades. You will also have to pay or get guests to take the 11 other rooms at the hotel, which for us was easy and the staff are really helpful in handling the taking of payments.
You'll get plenty of chances to liaise with the Event Planners, and sort everything for your day. Under the Timeless Package our cake was included (Special Days Cakes in Uddingston), flowers (Marlene's Flowers in Tollcross, Glasgow), and a DJ for the evening was included. All of these vendors are easy to liaise with, and everything is just sent to the hotel on the day.
We also arranged our own flower arch and flower wall (Instapic Photobooth, Edinburgh) and the staff at the Boclair moved both parts around the venue as per our requests.
Our photographers Kirsty and Ross (Imagine Images, Crawford) had no problems finding all the best locations for our photos, as there are so many gorgeous locations to choose from. Everywhere is spotless, and the grounds are very well maintained.
For our day we chose to be married via the East Dunbartonshire Council Registrar in the ballroom of the Boclair. This was simple and easy, and I would recommend it for anyone wanting something other than a Humanist or Celebrant wedding.
You also get your own wedding co-ordinator on the day (ours was the wonderful Julie), who will make everything effortless and keep everything running to schedule. In fact all the staff, no matter their job are amazing.
The rooms are truly special, all beautifully decorated, with the Honeymoon Suite being the icing on the cake. Get a tour before you book, and you'll see what I mean. The beds are very comfortable, and you get a continental and cooked breakfast the following day in the bar area.
I would highly recommend the Boclair as the venue for anyones wedding, you'll just wish you could make the day last longer!

What a fantastic day we had in a beautiful setting. From start to finish, the perfect place for my daughters wedding. The whole event was overseen by the experienced staff from the off and the whole day was sublime with no hitches or dramas. The bedrooms in this old mansion house are all individually designed to a very high standard and the honeymoon suite has to be seen to be believed. Thank you all who were involved for a memorable day.

I attended a family funeral tea here and I can honestly say it was the worst I’ve ever been to. Our table was set for six although there were only four of us which was fortunate as there were only four little pots of jam on the table, a plate with about a dozen sparsely filled sandwiches and about eight slices of a large sausage roll. No tea or coffee was in sight and after waiting about thirty minutes I asked if there was any and was told curtly that it was just coming. We had finished the sandwiches and sausage roll and still no tea or coffee. We saw another table had scones and cream, we did get the scones but no cream and after asking we were told it was just coming. We were there for over two hours and during this time the offering came out bit by bit with no apology. If fact, we were made to feel as if we were a nuisance for even asking for tea and more tea. The other table also had cakes so we asked if we were getting any and we were told they were just coming. About fifteen minutes before departure we were given nine tiny cakes with the cheesecake still slightly frozen, nothing to eat them with and a fair dose of total indifference from the badly trained staff. The bereaved lady had ordered a starter and a main course for dietary reasons. You won’t believe she is still waiting for the main course. I would never advise anyone to book this venue and I think they should be ashamed of such very poor service on such a sensitive occasion.

I didn’t think they had a great choice on the menu. The staff are fantastic and I’m sure if there was something that you preferred they wouldn’t have a problem doing it for you! I felt one of the best things about the hotel was the staff and their willingness to help as much as they could.

I think Bockair House is well worth going to. We took afternoon tea and I must say the staff in the dining room were very very friendly and helpful. Our waitress explained everything on the cake and sandwich stands and they even put on extra sandwiches as my wife is allergic to fish. Plenty of tea and coffee and as we were so full they even gave us a doggy bag to take home. The surroundings are beautiful and the ambience peaceful. Do try.
