Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice with good location. Reasonable size rooms. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Quiet area, but not far from important shopping areas ans streets. Not a bad restaurant with a good menu. Reception is always busy with delays.

This hotel is in a great location. The rooms are good and well kitted out. The roof bar was shut which was a shame. Breakfast was OK. Nothing wrong with it. The girl is clean and the staff friendly.
Just be careful when going out. I was mugged and my fiend had his jacket knicked. The city does not feel safe and being attacked and robbed will leave Barcelona on the never to go back list. People of you go please be careful.

First impression was not good. Front doors covered in fingerprints and the entrance has dirty worn carpet. In our 5 days here I don't think the entrance was cleaned once. Fingerprints were there all five days. The big doorman standing near the doors doesn't even open the door let alone help with your luggage. The same thing occured when we were leaving. They didn't even call a cab for us. Just pointed to the taxi stand for us to walk there. Fortunately we got a great taxi driver that told us to wait and he came to us. The room was comfortable but the hotel is tired. Might have been 4 stars years ago but In need of attention desperately. If it was clean it wouldn't have been as disappointing. The staff need lessons in customer service. Although there was one girl at reception that was helpful. Really disappointing.
The best thing with this hotel is the location.

Staying here a couple nights then added 4 more. When I told them add one more night (my flight was the next day) they said no problem and I went to my room. Front desk called and said, "Sorry, but if you want to stay another night it will be much more expensive (260 Euro). This was a 100 Euro increase. I said no and booked online immediately for 170. Pretty fishy getting shafted like that after staying for many days. Miscommunications are another problem if you don't speak the local tongue. When asking for housekeeping get the full linen change and cleaning. If you ask for less (just empty the trash and leave clean bath towels) the housekeeping crew gets it all wrong. A little high priced for what you get. And I did not appreciate the rate hike for no reason.

It is the worsest Hotel I have been. The photos on the website and in real are very different. Our window is opening to the window of another room. It's very dirty here, instead of king-size bed we were given two separate beds with very uncomfortable mantras and dirty bedclothes. We asked to change our room . But was told that have to wait till next day ,at the next day we were told that we had to come to reception one more time to make them sure that we want to change our rooms. The breakfast is very poor, nothing to feed children .

The hotel was quite clean, and there were nice amenities. The breakfast was decent, but became quite bland after having to eat the same food for several days. The receptionists spoke good English, and there were no problems with communication.

Despite all that, I don't think the hotel quite meets its self-proclaimed level as a 4 star hotel. There was none of the particularly special service or product you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Instead, I'd say Hotel Barcelona Center qualifies rather as a high end 3 star hotel.

Its a nice hotel, the location is good, but its a bit old, and the quality of furniture can be better.
Overall experience was not bad. I just stayed for a week and never felt the hotel was cozy or extra friendly, i just feel very neutral about it and really not an effort that would bring me back. But considering the rate we got it was of good value but a walking distance to passaige de gracia.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it was very clean and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good with ample choice. The room was quite dark but nice and the beds were so comfortable.
Just outside the hotel was a taxi rank so very easy to get about.

Just come back from a 4 day stay in Barcelona with my husband and 6 year old grand daughter. Lovely, spacious, spotless room with three enormous glass doors on 5th floor. No street noises. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is a short walk to Diagonal metro so very central. Lots of choice of food for breakfast. Would be very happy to stay here again!
