Detailed Reviews
Went here to be close to the lakes – which did work out very well, as the resort is indeed located just 500 m from the (unofficial) entrance 3 (which, unlike rumours have, opens at the same time as all other gates); the hotel provides links to websites of the park where you can obtain tickets without extra fees.
What you might find a bit confusing as you arrive is that the place is signposting itself as “Ethno Houses” (no sign of “Lakeside Hotel”); no worries, it is all part of the same resort, consisting of various houses.
Upon check-in, you will be led to your room – convenient in the maze of buildings, paths, and stairs. Note that the buildings on the compound are built of timber (hence the “Ethno”) – a nice ‘eco’ feature, but it also means they have no elevators…
A perk is that the houses are accessible by car; there is free parking, some right at some of the houses.
The rooms have a good size, with shelves for all your clothing (wardrobe is a bit small); they are furnished with two armchairs with a couch table, and a desk (which, however, has no chair, and is occupied by the TV) that includes a fridge.
The bath is a bit small compared to the room (no space for two people…); however, it sports a bathtub with jacuzzi function – but not really apt for comfortable showering (nothing to hold the shower head). The baths have no shaving mirror, and mine had defects in the installations – except for the jacuzzi not a highlight of the accommodation…
The beds are good; only a single pillow type is provided, but that worked fine for me. The roof windows have a proper blind, while the façade windows only have curtains that leave light through. It is blissfully silent at night (wake up to the crow of a cock), so all set for a good night’s sleep…
The WiFi worked well; a slight downside was the missing central light switch at the beds.
Breakfast was good, dinner at the restaurant as well (ate there twice – no need to venture further); no reservations are required.
On the grounds, there are lots of opportunities to entertain yourselves (free of charge) – table tennis, minigolf, a “zoo”, …

Upon arrival the directions are not very clear because the sign with the writing "Lakeside" is missing.
The two-storey wooden buildings where the rooms are located are beautiful and we found ours comfortable and clean. On the TV you can practically only see German-language channels.
Ample parking available.
Very convenient location for visiting the Park as it can be reached with a 10 minute walk from entrance no. 3.
All the staff are really kind and professional and at the reception they gave us all the information for visiting the park during our two-day stay.
Breakfast (buffet) is served in the restaurant with an excellent variety of sweet and savory products and also fruit.
One evening we had dinner in the restaurant, but there is little choice on the menu and the prices are decidedly high, but apart from this we absolutely recommend the hotel.

+ Location: within walking distance of the lakes.
- Some strange mixture of offer: 'zoo', sauna,...
+ Special atmosphere: this is not a standard hotel, but a series of 2-storey wooden houses. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated.
- Our room was on the second floor but there is no elevator. That's blown when you have to take your luggage upstairs.
- Air conditioning is very powerful, but blows right on the bed, so you can't leave it on
+ Good food too, both breakfast and lunch/dinner.
- Breakfast is buffet, with coffee machine which produced bad coffee. If you then asked for the coffee as you had received it the day before after dinner, it comes from other machine behind bar, and costs 2 Euro. That really detracts from the whole!

Room that we got was very comfortable, very cozy, the first one that we booked was under repairs so upon our check in, a really friendly reception named Anes introduced us to our new room with the hydromassage tub. The staff is doing their best, they will do everything in their power to indulge your wishes. Location of the hotel is so near entrance no.3 of Plitvička jezera national park,so it's really practical to get there on foot (to avoid all the parking mess). This place is magical when it's snowing,so I deeply recomend to go during the snowy times. We were here for 4 days, and 3 nights. The bed is a bit too soft and creaked in the middle, but I guess I'm used to harder matress. Dogs are allowed,so that is a big plus,we brought our pet with us and we were all together, enjoying our time . Two things that I have to criticise, are the hotel restaurant, and the spa area. The prices are too high when it comes to simple math. I mean, breakfast is awesome, but so is every buffet type, all you can eat and lots of food. Staff super super professional, and really pleasant. Also, pets are allowed in the restaurant. We were there for lunch and dinner ,costs a lot and it isn't even near the expected for that amount . In the spa,a lady that works in wellness was really friendly,as all the staff in the complex. But again, the prices are extremely expensive,so we didn't even thought of using the wellnes area.

The hotel, as well as the reception and outdoor spaces are all built in wood which makes the environment very particular. The room is very beautiful, of good size and all in wood, from floor to ceiling. The bathroom with shower is also ok. As in other hotels in the area, there is no bidet. Very kind and precise staff also in giving us directions for visiting the lakes. Good breakfast

Despite being on the edge of a national park, staying at this hotel does not give you the feeling of being surrounded by nature.
The rooms do not have a view of the greenery. Room cleaning is poor.
The breakfast is really bad. Even the restaurant is not good, the taverns in the area are much better.

+1
Poor quality of premises and poor quality of food. The breakfast was small and lacked variety, and the coffee machine did not work. They claim to be a 4-star hotel, which is not correct at all and makes matters worse. For the price they charge per night, this is horrendous. I would recommend one of the hotels in the park. (This hotel is not in the park but just outside it.)
The septic also smelled terrible and the stairs are super slippery when it rains.

It is our second visit to Plitvice, without a doubt the hotel is a magical and unique place.
The location is unbeatable steps from the Lakes. The attention of Manager Simon excellent and absolutely all the amazing restaurant staff, especially a special mention for his service and professionalism to the waiter Jabed, the very rich food, very clean and nice rooms.
I definitely recommend it

They have a rich offer of activities for everyone. They have a nice zoo, a spa corner. The staff is very pleasant. The rooms are wonderfully furnished. Only a 5-minute walk to the Plitvice Lakes. Next time we will come back. Very nice mini vacations.
