Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Where to start? Jon and Shirley were fantastic hosts - as others have said, they have thought of all the extra touches and made every effort to make the stay a fantastic one. Hadleigh is a beautiful property with gorgeous gardens, a delightful pool and lovely spaces to relax. Our room was spacious and clean, with home-baked treats and complementary beverages awaiting our arrival. We joined Jon and Shirley for canapés and drinks before Jon gave us a lift into town for dinner (we followed J + S's recommendations and were very impressed!). Breakfast was delicious and we were sad we couldn't stay longer! I must also mention Holly the dog - another star of the show - friendly and well behaved! Thank-you Jon and Shirley from Louise, Sarah and Christine!

Jon and Shirley were great hosts - great breakfast best omlette ever. Top class accomodation they have thought of all the needs of their guests and more . Very thoughtful to put out biscuits cakes and lots of drinks too. Our flight was late so we missed their happy hour drinks but I'm sure they would be good company. The room and bed were luxurious. Love their porche BTW.

Beautiful house in a stunning setting. This is one of those places where the hosts think of all the extra little touches and then some. Shirley & Jon are gracious hosts with an evening drinks get together before going out for tea. In the morning you are greeted with the most divine breakfast. My only regret it is in New Zealand and we are in Australia. Go ahead indulge yourself

Shirley and Jon's BnB in Hamilton is an elegant weekend away. The house is magnificent set in expansive parklike surroundings, including a lap pool for keen swimmers. Holly the Lab is very welcoming and well behaved. We enjoyed Shirley and Jon's company in the evenings around the fire with delectable nibbles and drinks before we tried out Hamilton's restaurant scene. Breakfasts were a treat with stewed fruits, salmon, eggs, croissants - anything you desire actually and Jon was always there ready with fascinating stories about his Porches and the Christchurch earthquakes; having lived through them both. I sincerely recommend staying with Shirley and Jon at Hadleigh for a top class weekend away.

We stayed for just 2 nights at Hadleigh Boutique Lodge. Wish we could have stayed longer. The setting is beautiful, the grounds stunning and our suite very comfortable. But what surprised and delighted us the most was the hospitality of Jon and Shirley. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was excellent, aperertives in the lounge each evening so enjoyable. Jon drove us to dinner and picked us up, the list goes on. Everything they say on their internet site is so true and more. We have no hesitation in recommending their wonderful lodge.

This Deluxe B&B is a beautiful haven, and Shirley & Jon are so welcoming and accommodating. The house and huge grounds are gorgeous and serene. My husband and I could only stay one night on our New Zealand travels and wished we could have stayed longer. Drive out of Auckland an hour & a half, and stay here instead!

We had a lovely one night stay in Shirley and Jon's Boutique 5 Star B&B just outside Hamilton. They are very welcoming hosts and the guest accommodation is superb. We stayed in the Kotare Suite upstairs and had a lovely view of sheep in the next field, right next to the Guest Lounge which overlooked their superb gardens. After a welcome drink and chat and nibbles, as it was a cold evening and didn't want to go out, we spent the rest of the evening relaxing in the Guest Lounge, where we could make a coffee, use their crockery for our own snacks, use the complimentary wifi and watch a DVD. The suite had every facility, nice toiletries, hair dryer, electric blanket etc. Breakfast was scrumptious, especially the homegrown fruits, homemade muesli, a cooked breakfast to order and

We recently enjoyed an all to brief stay with Jon and Shirley at their magnificent property Hadleigh in its rural Hamilton setting. Our first class accommodation was just the start as we later enjoyed a glass of wine with our knowledgeable hosts and a walk around their expansive gardens. Shirley's breakfast was beyond our expectations and a great way to end our short break with them and return to our home. We will make time for a two day stay when we plan our next visit.
