These are the best of the best ... everything is PERFECT ... eat by candle light ... goodies in the beginning ... and everything is homemade ...The three of us have stayed at least 4 times ... am from Chicago, my friend is from SF and his sister is from Spokane, WA ...
They really represent their community and help us to find gifts to take back to America ... We are treated like king and queens! There's no question in my mind but that I would travel an extra 100 miles to spend a night or two with them.

We spent two nights in this lodge. Immidiately after our Arribas we were offered to get our laundry done (for free). In the evening we had a very nice dinner and conversation with Gloria. A wonderful place to relax.

We booked Matangi Oaks for the night before and the night of our wedding in November. Clyde and Gloria were extremely welcoming, helpful to the vendors helping us get ready and Gloria made us a lovely lunch prior to us leaving the venue. They also ensured my friend in a wheelchair was completely comfortable. Their home is stunning! A beautiful place to stay. Thank you both very much.

Clyde and Gloria we really appreciate the way you made us feel very welcome when our daughter, jessica, used your venue to prepare on her wedding day. Also for the hospitality you showed when Wendy and I returned and stayed the night after the wedding.

Had an excellent overnight stay at Matangi Oaks. Clyde and Gloria are wonderful hosts, the accommodation is first class, and we would definitely recommend this boutique bed and breakfast. Close to Hamilton and surrounds but out in the country it is a lovely venue.

We received a very warm welcome from Clyde and Gloria they have a warm home with luxurious rooms. They spoil they're guests with loads of extra's. We had a very nice stay and would recommend it highly to everyone!

We have visited Matangi Oaks before but it is SO good we keep returning. Gloria and Clyde are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Immaculate, spacious home, very comfortable beds and lovely fresh linen. A first class choice of delicious breakfasts. Matangi Oaks comes highly recommended. Go and enjoy it all !

Gloria and Clyde were beyond amazing in my stay here. I've never stayed at a B&B and Matangi Oaks was above and beyond my expectations. Not only did Gloria keep my wine glass full, but she even helped out by driving me into town and the airport to help me find a car to rent. Clyde had also spent all night/morning researching ways for me to get to the Waitomo caves which was very helpful! They didn't need to do any of this, but they were more than hospitable. Their home is completely redone and is beautiful inside and out. Some of our meals even included food straight from her garden and the pavlova she made was delicious! I also fully enjoyed my night runs with all the cows and sheep near by. :) I absolutely recommend this B&B for your stay!

Clyde and Gloria hosted 3 of us for 2 nights in February in their beautiful new home outside Hamilton. They were very kind and generous hosts that served us tasty smorgasbords, offered great advice about local sights and were delightful to spend 3 days with. Their new home built on their farm is very nice and well appointed and offers a great view of the surrounding fields. They are very knowledgeable about events in the Hamilton area and are great ambassadors for New Zealand. If we visit the Hamilton area again, we will definitely be staying with Clyde and Gloria!
I use a wheelchair and needed an accessible place to stay. Clyde graciously built a ramp for me to get up a small step at their front door. Their house is very accessible to any wheelchair user. The hallways and doorways are plenty wide, the bathroom is completely accessible and the rest of the house is wide open and easy to maneuver around. If you need a wheelchair accessible place to stay near Hamilton, I highly recommend Clyde and Gloria's cottage!
