We recently stayed at Cable Bay Views (studio 3). It’s a great set up, comfortable, well appointed, modern and comfortable. Great views, close (ie 5 ish mins walk) to Cable Bay, Mudbrick and Allpress, communicative owners, and reasonable value. Few points: - shame the fan in the bathroom automatically goes on synched to the bathroom lights (a pain at night!) and the bathroom bin was broken, the bathroom underfloor heating is great, the modern tv that comes out of the wall is great also!, kitchen is perfectly fine given I suspect barely anyone who stays there, eats there. Very popular given its location I imagine and we certainly would recommend it. Just a couple of small things to fix or potentially improve.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom lodge for 4 nights enjoying amazing views over Cable Bay vineyard and back into Auckland city . Beautiful accommodation with great indoor/outdoor flow . Location perfect - 3 minutes drive from the ferry and 3 minutes to Oneroa with is eclectic mix of shops and cafes overlooking a beautiful beach . Mudbrick vineyard is a 300 metre walk and further afield the 30 minute drive to Man O’War vineyard is well worth it . Thanks Jan for making us so welcome in your stunning Cable Bay Views lodge

We loved our 3 day stay at Cable Bay views. The location worked really well for us - we brought our car over on the ferry, but actually for people who enjoy a walk, you can walk up from the Matiatia ferry in about half an hour (head for Cable Bay vineyard first then around the roadside to Cable Bay Views). And as you can tell from this, the whare is also (a short) walking distance from two close-by wineries - Cable Bay and Mudbrick - both of which do lunch and evening meals. Mudbrick also does breakfast 9-11am - on a fine day, breakfast out on the terraces at Mudbrick with views across the sea to Rangitoto and the Auckland CBD is something very special. And if you stay at Cable Bay Views, you even have the option of doing this every day. We stayed in Unit 2, the central unit in a terrace of lovely modern whare with their backs to the road (lined with attractive tropical plantings) and front sides looking out across greenery to Cable Bay winery. A full length deck runs right along the front side with doors opening on to it - a great space for sitting outdoors with a book, and especially for relaxing in the evening when it is cooler. There is a small kitchen area (fridge and microwave), couch, small table with chairs and large, comfortable bed. Quite a few extras - I especially loved the lovely toiletries: body and hand wash, shampoo and conditioner plus handcream all by great New Zealand brand Ashley and co. There is no plunger but a coffee machine with pods (not so easy to find pods on the island so if this is your thing, and you are going to stay more than a night, consider bringing your own). Also only two mugs and two glasses so you may like to bring a few of your own. For example, we began by using one glass for our toothbrushes then realised there weren’t any to drink from. Hairdryer, iron and board, even an umbrella. And the highlight for me - Sky Sport! As a cricket fan I was thrilled to be able to not only watch New Zealand beat India, but to be able to tape the match while we were out enjoying Waiheke to finish watching later. Ka mau te wehi! Quiet and easy (key in lockbox when you arrive), this is an ideal place for independent travellers to enjoy a relaxing break.

Stayed for one night over weekend in January. Wonderfully appointed room and in a spotless condition. A short taxi ride from the ferry terminal. The views were stunning, tranquil and romantic. A short walk to Mudbrick which was the highlight.

We stayed in Waiheke Island for 3 full days and got the best out of it! The studio at the Cable Bay View was perfectly located, close to all vineyards and in the middle of some breathtaking tracks! Some reviews say the place looks bigger in the picture than in reality and it’s actually true, but it’s still perfect size for a couple. Clean and tidy, the owner has also been very friendly with us and helping us with some issue during our stay. You also easily wake up with some super cute bunnies in the garden just in front of you! Beautiful place!

We booked this place via hotels.com. We expected a hotel with reception and breakfast, but we got an apartment far from everything with two unpolite owners. They did not inform the need to Book The ferry so we could not use our car in the island, that is terrible. They did not apologize and told it was our fault. Very expensive for what it delivers, we felt cheated and we will never come back here.

Loved our one night stay at Cable Bay Views. Comfortable, immaculate and peaceful. It was a rainy weekend but the room was nice and warm and the bed Super comfortable. A 100 m stroll to Mudbrick for breakfast was a bonus! Close to Cable Bay Vineyard too. Would definitely stay again.

A fab place to stay if you visit the island just outside Oneroa. Great rooms and bathrooms. Fab views and a great nights sleep. No air con but if I’m honest the ceiling fan is actually better for sleeping during the night than air con provided by others. Would highly recommend if you want a great stay on the island and the hosts are fab.

We booked to stay here for 3 nights. Beautiful view and room, and large balcony. The photos reflect the accommodation. Bed was comfortable, sofa bed not so much. The bathroom is small, but suited us. It is a fair walk into 'town' about 20/25 mins, but you can always get a taxi. 10 minute walk to Mud Brick if you are planning to go there. Nice location and property
