Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spent two nights here and the owners were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was a problem. Walk across the road to Little Oneroa beach and at low tide you can walk around the rocks to Oneroa Beach, absolutely lovely. Small dairy and fish & chip shop at Little Oneroa as well.
Great view from accommodation unit. Traffic is quite busy along the road but no problem. Would definitely go back to stay.

Owners were very helpful and even drove us to the ferry terminal on departure. Aquasands has a lovely outlook to the beach and is just a brief walk across the road. Shops, cafes and bars are also accessible via a 10 - 15 minute walk and there are many wonderful choices to eat and drink.
Rooms were clean and comfortable - only complaint was no servicing of rooms unless requested and after 3 days - was rather annoying. Room servicing should be a given.
Cable TV was a bonus with a good variety of channels but internet was poor.

Lovely friendly owners and right across the road from the beach. 10 minute walk to the coolest shops and fab places to eat. Waiheke Island is so pretty, wish we were able to stay longer but only had a weekend for a wedding. If we return, we'd definitely stay here again.

Conveniently Located right across the road from little Oneroa Beach and a short walk from Oneroa villageThe road is the main road and seemed particularly busy which meant closing the doors and having air conditioning on at nights. The early morning traffic noise was particularly bad on the week days. The crossing of the road requires walking on the main road so I wouldn’t recommend for elderly or people with mobility issues. The tour operators and taxis required us to meet across the road or bottom of the driveway.

We spent three nights at AquaSands. It's comfortable, sunny, modern and located right where you want to be on Waiheke. Very friendly hosts. OK, yes, there is a busy road between you and the beach which is a bit noisy when the windows are open, but the apartments are high above the road and completely private (not overlooked at all), with a perfect north-facing aspect that catches the sun all day, and those things are really important. It was winter, so we had the windows closed most of the time, and it was really cosy. Having a dairy, takeaways and pizza cart just across the road was handy. We had a car and so were able to travel all over the island, but for visitors without their own transport, Little Oneroa beach is right across the road, Oneroa is about 10 minutes gentle walk away, and the busses run right past the gate.

We stayed for three nights. The apartment was a good size , clean with good WiFi. Owners were friendly and helpful. We stayed during a humid spell, there is no air conditioning but a fan was provided. I am a light sleeper so found it too loud. Having the window open for the breeze we found the road noise also loud. The apartment is above a busy road even at night . The accommodation has a steep driveway which may not suit older visitors and crossing the busy road to get to the walking side of the road, beach and little shops may also not suit. The apartment is a 10 min walk to the main town.

Decent, small neat and clean budget property. owners are extremely helpful. though the motel is slightly far of from major attractions such as onetangi and palm beach, it does offer value for money. The Wifi was extremely fast in our room, which we thought was extremely good.

We had 3 nights on fabulous Waiheke Island staying at Aqua-Wai Apartments. The studio apartment is stylishly appointed, comfortable and provisioned with lots of extras to make your stay special. It is located opposite Little Oneroa Beach on a busy road bend, General Store, Take Away and pizza van. It’s an uphill walk into Oneroa so good to go at low tide when 6pu can walk around the beach and headland. Harry the owner was only too happy to drop us in town and down to the ferry when it was time to go. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything was perfect! It was clean , modern and had everything you could need including a huge shower! The owners even dropped us at the ferry on our way home and were very friendly & accomodating. The fish n chip shop catered for our family picnic on the beach & it was the best fish n chips we’ve had in a long time ! Little oneroa beach is the best with trees to shade you and a lot less busy than the other bigger beaches
I read other reviews that mentioned no air con but even in a 30 degree day the room was warm but we just put the fan on and it was great. It wasn’t loud at all and was very spacious . Although it didn’t have a sink in the kitchen a big bowl was provided that worked just as well!
We had the best birthday weekend at little oneroa . Would definitely stay again!

Felt like I had to review this one.

Positives: The property is well located, has lovely views, and is clean and comfortable.

Negatives: It is very small and so you have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink and watch a tiny television. What really annoyed me though was that the host charged my credit card twice and failed to tell me. He never said anything and I had to ask him about it and the refund took 3 days to come through! I’m pretty disappointed because he seemed like a nice guy...

Overall it is too expensive for what you get and I would recommend other places to my friends.
