On the beautiful, northern coastline of Waiheke Island, between Little Oneroa and Palm Beach, Enclosure Bay is a modern, architecturally designed, Small Hotel / Bed and Breakfast. We have two one bedroom suites and a King bedded room – all with private decks, air conditioning and facilities you would expect. Located just a 35 minute, ferry ride from downtown Auckland, (a few minutes longer on the car ferry), Waiheke Island is a tranquil, beautiful jewel in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf. A ten minute drive from the ferry terminal at Matiatia will bring you to Enclosure Bay. Waiheke is renowned for its beautiful beaches and scenery, its vineyards, olive groves and native reserves with great walking tracks. The island is justly proud of its many excellent restaurants and cafes. Enclosure Bay is the ideal haven, where for a while, you can exchange the ‘every day’, for something special. Perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary celebration; for luxury, weekend breaks or just some timely R & R. We enjoy a wonderful setting, capturing the sun all day and providing panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf and its islands. Uninterrupted views out as far as Great Barrier Island and Coromandel Peninsula to the east, Rakino Island, Little Barrier Island and the Noises to the north and the setting sun behind Rangitoto to the west. Your privacy and opportunity to take it easy, refresh and restore, are our priorities. So come to Enclosure Bay, relax, enjoy our ‘special place’ and watch the varied moods and colours of the Hauraki Gulf and its islands.

We spent one night in the Little Barrier room at Enclosure Bay. It was a fantastic experience. The hosts, Andy and Jenny, were very accommodating and were able to make some great recommendations for places to visit in the island.

We got into Waiheke quite early so our room wasn't ready yet, but Jenny still picked us up (with our luggage) at the ferry terminal and dropped us off in the "downtown" area where we hung out for about an hour until Andy picked us up and took us to our room, where our luggage was already waiting.

The views from the place are stunning. They provided a wonderful breakfast which was made really great by the fantastic vista from our balcony. Also they have a hot tub outside that has gorgeous views (see pic)

We would definitely stay there again next time we're in Waiheke.

The best views on Waiheke Island. Beautiful rooms, amazing sunsets from the balcony, exceptionally warm hospitality. The rooms are very well kept and clean. A perfect place to stay whilst exploring the island.

We're back for our fifth.. or maybe sixth stay in the Great Barrier suite.. we've lost count, but it's home away from home, and never disappoints. This time we brought over family to see for themselves what we keep coming back for, and it was a perfect getaway for 4.
Andy & Jenny really are the perfect hosts, from the seamless pick up at the wharf, to cooked breakfasts, and all of the little touches that make the stay a pleasure; rooms are spotless and whisper quiet, views exquisite (even on a wet day you can't beat staring out at the Hauraki Gulf), a comfortable bed, robes, honesty bar.. everything you could want.
It's an easy drive to our favourite haunts.. recommend dining at Poderi Crisci, Batch winery, Casita Miro, and Fenice and Oyster Inn are great for dinner. Also massages at Thai Lanna in Oneroa are definitely worth a visit. If getting a cab anywhere om the island only use Wai Taxis.. efficient, well priced & great service.
There really is no other place to stay on the island. We'll be back for our seventh visit soon!

Wow, what an incredible week at such an incredible place! Enclosure Bay provides everything you are looking for on Waiheke: incredible views, amazing accommodations, wonderful hospitality, and the ability to fully unplug. Jenny & Andy are the most gracious hosts and truly make you feel at home. Location is great with a quick 5/10 minute walk to the water or a 10 minute drive to Oneroa. No need to look anywhere else, Enclosure Bay is truly one-of-a-kind. Thank you again for a wonderful experience!

What a fantastic place to finish our holiday. We stayed for 4 nights looking for a relaxing time having spent over a month travelling. This was absolutely ideal for us. Lovely modern suite with everything we needed and great views from our balcony. Breakfast was excellent and made to order and delivered to our room at a time to suit us. Andy was an excellent host and really helpful in providing local knowledge of places to visit. Waiheke Island is beautiful and there is a good variety of things to see and do. I would thoroughly recommend including Enclosure Bay on your travels round New Zealand
