Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is no easy feat to reach the top of the Tizi ntest pass. Having got this far why not stay the night as a group of 6 of us did on this year’s Dakar Challenge. The rooms are akin to being in a Youth Hostel with no frills whatsoever. The showers are lukewarm and to heat our room the owner provided a Patio Heater. It did the job despite being for outdoor use only. This however will undoubtedly be one of the more memorable stops on our trip to the Gambia. The owner could not have done more. The evening meal of Chicken Tagine served in front of an open fire was excellent as was the breakfast in front of the same fire. There is no light pollution so if you have a cloudless night and enjoy stargazing this is the place. Just bring plenty of layers of warm clothing (and a hot water bottle) and you will have a great stay. It is also very cheap which helps.

We visited the restaurant in a motorcycle trip. Said the host was really friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and when the evening got chilly, said lit the fire fire an amazing evening. We also tried our hand at water divining. The hosts couldn't be more accomadating

Very nice place and very friendly people. You can stay in the hotel, or at the campsite. There are hot and clean showers and toilets. The views are spectacular!
And you can have a beer! And diner.
It’s a long way to come there, and you drive through the earthquake area. Very sad!

We were by Mustapha in March 2017. We were looking for a place to eat. It was cold and windy in March. Mustapha made us a very good Berber omelet with fresh orange juice and biscuits made by the mother of Mustapha. Mustapha was very friendly, helpfull and we were very welcome. After and hour and a half we left, with a full stomach and a rich experience of Moroccan hospitality. I would say: "Stop at the top by Mustapha!"

This is an awesome off the beaten track option for those a little sick of the madness of Moroccan cities. Not only is the drive from Marrakech to Taroudant one of the most beautiful roads I have ever seen (and very quiet which is nice) but the view from the pass is breathtaking - without needing to leave the car.
We stumbled upon this place in the middle of scary night time mist and fog and needed a place so we could stop driving. While it started out as an unplanned safety stop we ended up staying 2 days. There is NOTHING to do but soak up silence, maybe hike up to the nearest hill or sit and read.
The accommodation won't be everyones taste - no electricity and it gets COLD - but for those wanting an experience this is simply brilliant. Really nice, simple but very clean rooms, hot showers, gas lanterns, candles and this great open lounge room in the middle of the beautiful old stone building.
The two guys are simply delightful - Hassien and his brother - and their food is great. Not the spiciest tajine but without a doubt the most hearty, tasty and homely I had in 5 weeks in Morocco. Moroccan coffee is great as well.
There is a great 4 hour return walk to even MORE breathtaking views. Take the road behind the hotel and follow it until it stops near some radio towers - or continue to the very top to the little white radio hut. Take a book, a jumper and just soak up the silence before you descend back into the heat and madness again. You won't get asked ONCE to buy something.

Room Tip: We car camped - but we used the rooms for showers. They all looked nice and clean.

I cycled to the top of Tizi N Test and this is the first hotel that you arrive at when approaching from Marrakech. There's a small cafe at the front, a larger building at the back with rooms, parking for camper vans and a small shop selling art and fossils.

rooms were available and very cheap. the young man running the place was friendly and welcoming, made sure my bike was stored safely and sorted out hot water for a shower.

the room was basic and clean. noise isn't a problem at this altitude, bar the dog which can bark a bit.

the views from here are sublime and worth the trip to enjoy sunset here. there's a track leading from the Auberge up towards the telecom mast on the peak so you can walk along this if you need to stretch your legs.

couple of downsides: first there was no electricity during my stay. this was a bit of a suprise and made getting back to my room a bit more tricky. candles were available but i had a torch. i may not have stayed had i known but i don't regret staying. i don't know why power was off - not sure if it was a temporary thing, or if it was just turned off during off-season periods. the other slight downside was that, as i turned up unexpectedly at the top of a mountain, they didn't have huge amounts of food in so i had dinner of a berber omelette and breakfast of bread olives and butter. given the cycle ride up and down the mountain i was frankly starving and the food, though tasty, left me hungry. a lovely dutch couple in a camper van invited me in for a second dinner of pasta so this bolstered me.
although the meal was small, it was delivered with sincerity, i sat in the lounge by the woodfire; there was another man there (owner's father?) who i had a lovely conversation with so the whole experience was pleasant and enjoyable albeit basic and a bit makeshift.
there is another hotel further down the road. some other cyclists stayed there. i know they had electrictity but don't know if it was otherwise "better." the shop has some nice things in it - especially locally made berber carved stone and i felt so pleased with my stay here i bought some small pieces here.
If you are travelling across Tizi N Test and you need somewhere to stay this place is worth a look; just have your torch to hand...just in case.
