Perfecfly placed near the main road but nested among trees, this old 'Mas' is the ideal place for a short - or long - stop. Some rooms might need some maintainance (ours had the the shower but lacked the box), but everything is clean and proper. Staff are super kind and smiling which makes the general atmosphere even more pleasant. There is an open air shadowed terrace where you can work, relax, or read a book. Dinner is served in this terrace. There is also a swimming pool. Breakfast is very rich and varied.

My wife and I stayed there for 4 nights. This hotel is in a house built in 1582. The thick walls are built from rocks found in the area and the ambiance is of an ancient location. The house is close to a small road but is way out of town and the next door neighbor is a winery a few hundred meters away. Roses and beaches are about 10 minutes drive away.
There is a very nice pool in the yard with tanning sofas and a small bar.
The restaurant and hotel staff are young and very friendly. They don't speak much English but they went out of their way to make us happy. It seems like Spanish speaking guests enjoyed their friendliness.
Rooms are big and romantic. Furniture is antic and add to the overall ambiance. Be aware that there is no separation what so ever between the room and the bathroom.
Wireless internet is available in the restaurant and pool area but not in the rooms.
Breakfast is very nice. Not a wide selection but it is fun. The restaurant is very nice. Food is tasty and again, the staff makes everything happy and easy.
Roses is very touristic but there are some quite beaches in the area that are less crowded. GPS is recommended.
Great place for a quite and romantic vacation and for small families or group of friends.

Staff not friendly. Room in my opinion was not maintained well. I would not go back at any price. The surrounding towns are very nice and I wish I did a little more homework. Definately the least positive hotel we stayed at during our trip.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 dogs. The hotel is animal friendly which is a big plus for us. The rooms are comfortable and have good air conditioning... Another plus as it was 34 degrees. The building is a traditional stone Mas and rooms retain much of the original walls. Staff are friendly and helpful... Owner is often around and the hotel is well run. Located just outside of Roses the location is quiet but it's easy to travel around.... You can be on the seafront in Roses in about 3 mins driving. My only real criticism is with breakfast which doesn't open until 9am.....is very 'continental'... And provided on a budget..... Long life croissants as a example. We will use the hotel again....as it's good value for money.

It was the worst hotel experience of my life. The hotel practices overbooking. We got a room reserved - and paid - one month before our stay and they canceled our reservation the same day of our arrival, after the check-in time. When we arrived, they told us that we had no room, amidst terrible noise and chaos since they also run a restaurant there. The complete interaction was very unprofessional and doubtful. They insisted that Booking should have contacted us, so basically, they blamed us for not checking an e-mail that arrived at 00.23 the night before. Finally, they relocated us into a horrible mass-hotel in Roses centre, which we had to pay for - so we paid twice since Booking had not returned us the money, until today. They compensated us for the 30€ difference in the new room, but the new hotel was one of those places where we would never step in. So they completely ruined our travel. And want to listen more? They had us covering the Booking commissions for a reservation THEY CANCELED, the SAME DAY of our arrival, and they got no penalization for such unprofessional and unfair behavior. So I absolutely suggest you go find something better for your stay.

We stayed for two nights en route to Menorca. Our dog was welcome and our room was stunning. Natural stone walls , spa bath and really comfortable. Breakfast was a delight! The choice was amazing and there was a hot element to it as well - bacon and scrambled eggs. We had an evening meal on one of our nights and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and the environment was fantastic if you like rustic, which we do. There is an outdoor pool and sun beds and an indoor spa pool which I have to admit was disappointing. Mas Palou is easy driving distance to Roses and I’d love to go back sometime. Just lovely.

While the old building has its charms and the people running it are very nice and friendly, the hotel is only average due to a dated room interior and a bathroom that needs to be updated. The included breakfast was barely ok. WiFi was horrible in the room.

Bonjour, est-il possible de séjourner en demi pension?
Answer from Pascale S
Tresserre, France31 contributions16 helpful votes
Bonjour, Je ne peux pas répondre fermement à cette question, n'ayant jamais réservé en demi-pension à cet endroit, mais je sais que de nombreux hôtels de Rosas pratiquent la demi-pension, donc pourquoi pas Mas Palou ? Bien cordialement. Pascale
