Ideally located in a peaceful spot on the outskirts of Ayia Napa, The Makronisos Village is a complete tourist village with a rustic feel. The sweeping sands of Nissi Bay with its wide range of water sports are close by, as are tavernas and a water park. The pulsing nightlife in Ayia Napa can be reached in five minutes by car, or a quick hop on the bus from outside the hotel. Checking in at the lovely reception area, you will receive a warm welcome reflecting the attentive, high standard of service to come. Attractively decorated and well equipped bungalows with spacious terraces are set among extensive gardens filled with palms and beautiful bougainvillea. The gardens create a lush back drop to the large, beautiful swimming pool with children's pool attached. A wealth of facilities and an extensive leisure programme for all ages mean you'll be torn between an energetic time or a chilled out break. So why not have a bit of both? Engage with fellow guests in volleyball, football, tennis, or water polo, to name a few, before surrendering to a dreamy massage. Don't worry about the children; they'll be well taken care of at the Kids' club, with endless all-day fun with new-found friends. Buffet meals are served in the hotel's inviting restaurant, and sandwiches, ice cream and other snacks can be bought from the bar and by the pool. Each evening entertainment is laid on in the form of barbecues, bingo, karaoke and more.

We've spent our second holiday in Makronissos Holiday Village and we're still absolutely satisfied with that. The stuff is very kind and helpful on each level. They're as flexible as possible. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Cleaning service on each two days. I mean a full cleaning, not the sheets only. Not the closest accomodation to Nissi - that's fact, but you can reach the best beaches easily. At return you have a lot of space in the Village with a huge pool from 55cm to 135cm depth, always find a free sunbed, large palm trees, beautiful flowers, etc. It's definitely worth an extra 3 minutes walking for us. Nissi is a few minutes by car, but we still prefer Makronissos beach on foot. I hope we'll returning for a third time in the future! :)

4th visit to the hotel, genuine hospitality on our trip to Cyprus we had a wonderful stay nothing was too much trouble and as always the service from all the staff was second to none. The pool was crystal clear and the sun beds/umbrellas were plentiful. The cleanliness and the self catering facilities in the rooms and around the complex was faultless. If you want a stress free holiday with everything you need then definitely this is the place to stay. Conveniently located and easy access to ayia napa, protaras shops and restaurants. The manager Yiannis is always on hand and the pool bar staff are always genuinely happy to serve you with a smile, Elena makes the best ice coffee and cookies and cream milkshakes that the kids adore. The barbecue on a Sunday has to be experienced. All in all a great holiday thank you to all x

The village is quite nice. It has a large swimming pool, good of kids as it's not deep at any point. Also it has a nice shady kids playground. The rooms are refurbished and modern inside. It has nice gardens a high trees. Some things I didn't like: 1. They were watering the playground in the morning, so we could not use it. 2. They don't recycle.

Just returned from our first -and last- stay at Makronissos Holiday Village. We booked a 2 night stay at a bungalow, family of 3. The room was very spacious and conveniently situated very close to the swimming pool, but in desperate need of renovation. Just about everything looked very dated and worn. And then, on the 2nd day of our stay, this happened (see photo). The toilet collapsed and fell over on its side. My wife was unfortunately injured (hurt her shoulder and neck) and she is due to see an orthopedic surgeon. Yes, we were moved to another room and offered a visit to a doctor but this is the least one could expect, and did little to make the experience look any better. If you have a business in accommodating people you have to make sure they are AT LEAST safe in your premises and in the unfortunate case that something goes THIS wrong, the manager in charge should show him/her self as soon as humanly possible. This never happened and absolutely no means of any compensation has been offered. We have never experienced or imagined a holiday break like this. Although I tend to write reviews ONLY when I have something positive to share, this was too serious to ignore.
