Detailed Reviews
We had a one night stay here during our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide. We were greeted by Christine in reception who does an amazing job. It makes such a difference to be greeted by a friendly face with a wealth of knowledge! We had booked a King room which was so good. The bed was super comfortable. The ameneties were top class. The hotel has a guest laundry which is free of charge. Having been on the road for a few days this was very useful. The laundry room had a drier but I was able to use the outside washing lines also. The hotel is just across the road of the main streets of Port Fairy with many cafes and restaurants to choose from. The hotel does have a restaurant but does not have breakfast facilities. Parking is available on site at no charge. If full there is plenty of street parking.

We stayed in one of the three cottages, Eumaralla. This was just delightful in every way. We arrived to find the heating had been turned on low to warm the place for our arrival. This was a lovely start. The main king bed is part of the living area, but tucked away to give privacy. The separate bedroom had twin king singles. Heating was excellent with a room air/con heater, electric blankets and a fireplace, all set up with wood. We loved having an open fire. There was extra wood in the box just outside. This was a real plus. The bathroom is spacious with a large spa bath as well as separate shower. The small kitchenette had a dishwasher. There is a complimentary laundry, easy to access, with washer and dryer and eco- friendly washing liquid. Laundry access is so much appreciated when on the road for a while. To avoid the taste of Port Fairy bore water, the hotel has a large underground rain water tank and the fridge is supplied with jugs of it, plus access to more. Christine, the manager, was very helpful and efficient. Overall, we enjoyed the attention to detail and the charm of the cottage.

Port Fairy was a convenient stop on our Great Ocean Road trip. The hotel is in a quiet location on the edge of town, with an easy stroll to pubs, restaurants and shops.
Our room, in the main building, was comfortable and on site parking was a plus.
Staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful with directions. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We changed our 1 night booking a couple of days before arrival to a 1 bed executive king in the motel section for an extra $20, which was much roomier and had a nice, modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Comfortable bed with individual electric blankets.
No on-site parking available when we arrived at 6pm, but free on-street parking 50 yards from the hotel entrance.

Upon arriving at reception to check in Christine was very welcoming and informative.
The Casino Cottage was just as we expected, a comfortable and well-appointed room with a huge king sized bed.
The luxury of having an open fire already stoked and ready to be lit added a beautiful ambience to the room.
Our bathroom had a great corner spa to relax in.
A stone’s throw from restaurants and the supermarket (open until 8pm each day) is another plus for staying here.
Definitely stay again and highly recommend this property to other visitors.

Nothing was too much trouble for Marianne and her team during our 3 night stay. Our cottage was well equipped, clean, comfortable and homely - particularly the open fire. Being in close proximity to shops and restaurants allowed us to leave the car parked up during our stay. The venue restaurant was closed due to covid restrictions but we had an amazing meal at The Wharf Restaurant where the service was impeccable. We shall return - sooner rather than later. Reception on arrival was brilliant. A very effervescent Katherine (who is also the residential Manager) provided a very warm welcome and was able to negotiate through an error (of my own making) effortlessly regarding our booking. Plenty of advice given regarding local facilities and amenities and made to instantly feel welcome both to the accommodation and the community.
The room was in the historical part of the building, downstairs. While the occasional footsteps could be heard above, it never became an issue.
While not overly large, the room exuded comfort, and while within a historic building, also exuded a style commensurate with four-to-five-star accommodation. It contains a large comfortable bed along with a table and chairs from which to be able to work.
The bathroom was large and very well provided with complimentary toiletries and a shower with two shower heads providing one with a choice as to what (and what not) to wash.
Excellently located within the small township allowing for a variety of options to be explored for whatever meal or refreshment was desired.

Seacombe House Motor Inn provided older style motel accommodation that is comfortable and pleasant and all that was needed for a short stay in Port Fairy. The decor is older style and not modern but provided all that was needed. The Wi Fi worked well and the staff friendly.

My wife and I recently stayed here and loved it. We were situated in the old part of the motel, the room was actually called ‘Gun Alley’ as many years ago someone had shot something or someone there, which was cool. As old as the room was it was delightful, the wonky floors added character while the thoroughly modern bathroom was beautiful with a huge shower. There was a communal lounge there and ample car parking, the staff were excellent and we would love to return to Port Fairy and have a better look around (see photos).

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in Port Fairy and would have given Seacombe House 5 stars except for what we both thought was an extraordinarily hard bed! Others may not think so - bed comfort can be quite subjective. Location was excellent, service extremely friendly and helpful, price quite reasonable. The room and facilities otherwise was lovely although the 2 windows didn't seem to let in a lot of natural light.
Our ground floor room faced onto the central courtyard and was also accessed by a second door off a common corridor. The arrangement unfortunately meant that the courtyard door didn't open fully because of the positioning of a two seater couch but it wasn't such a big deal. The couch was a handy addition to the room.
Unfortunately the restaurant hadn't reopened after Covid but hey, one is not short of choice around Port Fairy anyway!

I stayed in a three bedroom heritage cottage. All separate rooms and two living rooms. Absolutely beautiful.
Our room in main hall (receiptionist & check-in counter that building) 1st floor but with a few steps.
There is others room design outside this main hall. Yes, u got to check with the hotel to confirm about this. If not, try others hotel around as the location super great. Supermarket, restaurants, Griffith Island all walking distance. Good luck :)
Sorry for the late reply, just flew home today from Europe. Yes did notice a laundry at the Hotel.
