Our hostel is located at the heart of the idyllic coastal village of Port Campbell, on Victoria’s famous Great Ocean Road. Set in a picturesque horseshoe shaped bay in the pristine Port Campbell National Park on the aptly named Shipwreck Coast, some of Australia’s most iconic tourist attractions are less than 10 minutes away; including the world renowned 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge and the stunning Bay of Islands. Our hostel enjoys superior ratings and reviews on key backpacker booking sites, has sustained an excellent rating on TripAdvisor and enjoys ratings that place us among the top Victorian hostels. Plus, we are regularly ranked as one of the cleanest facilities in Australia. Our hostel is a modern, custom designed facility that provides travellers with all the mod-cons to provide the very best budget accommodation for people seeking an affordable Great Ocean Road experience. It was meticulously designed and purpose built to cater to the needs of backpacker guests on over-night or short-stay visits. Its design provides a contemporary and vibrant accommodation experience, with 15 rooms offering a range of bedding types. While we are located close the heart of Port Campbell (with all the conveniences a traveller needs, along with a great range of shopping and dining venues) the hostel feels wonderfully remote. With breathtaking views across the Port Campbell National Park and northwards, up the Newfield Valley, natural light fills the hostel and provides both a unique and welcoming atmosphere. Being located less than a two minute stroll to the pristine Port Campbell beach, many guests can enjoy slipping off to sleep to the dull roar of the mighty Southern Ocean, pounding the cliffs of Port Campbell Bay.

Detailed Reviews
I'm not a huge fan of hostels. Often, I find the communal lifestyle a touch too dirty (I'm not the tidiest traveler, but as long as I don't have to share the mess I'm good) and a touch to public (I like my privacy)...which was why Port Campbell Hostel was such a pleasant surprise. After hoofing it through the outback for the better part of a week and staying in dingy hostels, it was nice to arrive at such a clear, very modern, and mostly very quiet accommodation.
The bunks and the rooms were very clean, and well kept - however you are expected to "sheet" your own bed when you arrive and toss your sheets in the bin when you leave - still, a small price to pay in my opinion.
The communal area was super chilled out and beautifully furnished. The kitchen (although I never really used it ) was clean and really modern. Plus on top of all that Port Campbell is a beautiful town. Really positive experience, I'd love to visit again - and I'd easily consider staying here, it's great vaule for money.

Lovely stay during a busy first weekend out of lockdown. We stayed in a private room which was massive, could have fit 4-5 people. We were able to bring our dog (had to ask first but responses were quick and friendly) without paying extra for a pet cleaning fee. Don't expect a full service hotel room however, there was only one wall-fixed soap dispenser, no toiletries/shampoo or hair dryer, hand/face towels, etc. It is very much a nicely decorated private room in a hostel. No food or drinks allowed in the room either, so you have to eat in the communal area. No bar fridge/coffee/tea making facilities in the room either. Definitely go elsewhere if you're looking for a hotel experience. Full service kitchen with multiple sinks and everything you need on the outside, and the lounge / bar area was so cute and comfy with tons of books/games/even a puzzle to work on. About 2 minutes walk from the beach and a great little spot to explore great ocean road from. Port Campbell itself is a tiny little town and this hostel is definitely one of the best places to stay while you're there. The hotel manager was fun to talk to, and you get a free drink on arrival!

An incredible hostel experience! This was my first trip out of lockdown and with the ever changing rules due to COVID-19 I had booked a private room as I wasn't sure what the hostel's rules were going to be. The staff was incredibly professional and responsive when they called to let me know that they were able to accommodate me as I was in a private room and had informed me of the rules that they had. Upon arriving, I discovered that it was their first night reopening since lockdown and the overall atmosphere was lively with guests visiting to enjoy the pizza & beers from the brewery on site. The pizza was great and having a fresh beer from the tap were small yet meaningful things I greatly enjoyed. The staff at Port Campbell Hostel are friendly, professional and accommodating. They go above and beyond to ensure guests feel comfortable & safe. Facilities are well kept, very clean and comfortable. Although restrictions have changed and Melbourne has gone back into lockdown, I will remember Port Campbell Hostel as a great place to stay and will keep in mind for any future trips. Highly recommend for anyone considering this hostel. Also the location was perfect and it was a short walk away from the beach and shops. Thank you Port Campbell Hostel for a great experience and memory coming out of lockdown that I greatly appreciate. Looking forward to my next visit. Cheers

Jerry was super welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Very clean and sleek hostel. $ 10 Pizzas are a bonus and the locally brewed beer was the perfect match for them. Would definitively stay here again, thank you!!

The hostel is pretty amazing, our room is clean, good sleep for our winter night. Decoration is perfect! I really like it! Grab your great ‘Sow and Piglet’ craft beer in the floor ground before you going to bed. I recommended you to stay here. 👍👍

I stayed at the Port Campbell hostel for 2 nights after finishing the great ocean walk, which is in the same building of the Piglet and Sow brewery and pub.
The hostel has great facilities with a big kitchen, indoor BBQ area and an amazing dining/living area which is shared with the pub. There was always good music playing in the common areas and all the facilities were nice and clean.
Hostel stuff was so kind to pick me up from the 12 Apostole carpark when I finished the great ocean walk which was very kind.
I will definitely return for another visit when I am back on the great ocean road. Definitely recommend.

We spent two nights at the Sow and Piglet Guesthouse and can’t speak highly enough about it. We were lucky enough to book the Suite Room. It was spacious, exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The linen was fresh and white, the heating was fantastic and we had everything we needed. The common lounge area was my favourite part on the guesthouse. So many comfy lounges to sit and read a book while enjoying a yummy beer or cider (the beer being made on the premises). The pizzas on offer were nice as well. The communal kitchen was well set up. The location was great, a block from the beach and eating places and car parking was easy. Jiri the manager was fantastic, nothing was too much to ask of him and he was always checking to make sure we wanted for nothing. Would recommend anyone to stay at this property or even just pop in for a pizza and beer if in the area.

* Pillow protectors + bedding are clean, soft and comfy
* Free (1) beer if you stay 2+ nights
* Close to lots of local attractions

* The guy who runs the brewery / pizza is super nice and chatty
Dislikes:
* House rules are quite strict - want us out the hostel during the day (there is lots to do locally, but we just thought this was strange) also can only shower at certain times etc.
* There are fridges for you to store cold food but no where specific to store dry foods
Improvements:
* Wifi downstairs sucks and no wifi upstairs in bedrooms - there are notices around the hostel saying this will happen eventually, but we were shocked it wasn’t already a thing

It was my first time visiting Port Campbell and the hostel felt like pure luxury after our walk from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles. My friends and I loved the bedrooms, toilets, showers and kitchen- all very clean and well-maintained. Jiri was so friendly and made sure our visit was a great one. He was also super on top of all things COVID which was super reassuring.
We hung out in the open area, played board games and listened to the records provided. Our evening of pizzas and beers was so affordable and so much fun. I'll definitely be visiting again!

The manager working there was incredibly rude. Not knowing the policy I had an unopened beer in my pocket with no intentions of drinking it. As I was standing in line to buy a beer he rudely demanded I take the beer away and then threatened to make me sleep outside in the bus although I had paid for a room. He could have simply nicely asked that I please take the beer outside and I would have obliged. i wouldn't talk to my dog like this. Terrible way to treat your customers. He was also extremely rude to the rest of my group of 19
