My wife and I have had many short family breaks over the past 25 years at the Peninsular. The last time was just this week just gone and first time as grandparents with our first grandchild along with our now 3 adult children and their partners. There are many reasons why we keep using the Peninsular when on the Sunshine Coast, from the fact that Scott (who was very young when we first used Peninuslar) runs a very good family run ship, all the staff from front desk to cleaners to maintenance staff have always been friendly and make you feel welcome and important, the safe location, the cleanliness of the rooms and all the facilities. But it has been the consistency every time we go that gives us peace of mind.
On a special note with this latest stay was Scott being prepared to be very accomodating and sympathetic to a possible late change of plan the night before our check in date which was really nice for my wife after Scott promptly returned her call.
thank you again to Scott and his team.

We stayed in apartment 33, easy access, very spacious, clean and with a welcoming vibe. As soon as you enter the apartment you know your on holidays with a very luxurious feel. Everything you could want at your fingertips. Large veranda overlooking Mooloolaba beach, big kitchen, 2 bathrooms, large inviting master bedroom with en-suite and views to the ocean. Large swimming pool area, gym, sauna, spa.. wow. Above the main strip of shops and restaurants with art galleries, and very close to Coles and BWS. Everything is within an easy walk. The staff are very helpful and more than willing to help you organise everything from where to eat to tours you may want to take to rental cars, and always there to help. Will definitely go back and ask for apartment 33.

We've stayed at Penisular twice:
1st time the apartment was well appointed and included air-conditioning in all the rooms. Facilities were clean and tidy, with a fully equipped kitchen which was very handy. Main bedroom had a king size bed, but it appeared to collapsing along the edges so there was a bit of a slope to the bed. This apartment was fully tiled which was very easy to clean after being at the beach.
2nd time the apartment again was well appointed, except air-conditioning was only installed in the living area although the bedrooms all had ceiling fans. This apartment was carpeted.
Kids loved swimming in the pool, and the access to the beach was so easy.

Only complaint we could really make was when it came to the booking price, it seemed to be a very fluid deal. We were travelling with another group who booked separately to us approximately 30 mins before we made our reservation: their booking was $200 cheaper than ours. I queried this via email but did not receive a reply as to why booking 30 mins later equals an extra $200.

The location is the only positive that we can give this facility. It is directly across the road from Mooloolaba Beach and there are a huge range of shops and restaurants right outside the site.

We paid the top rate for an Executive 2 room apartment, where the pictures showed a clear sea view from a high floor, and mentions beach/sea views in the description. The room we were given (33) was on the mezzanine floor, just above reception and the main entrance. It had almost no view of the water (glimpses through the trees and bushes) and the balcony was right on the street and just above all of the noisy bars and restaurants. We couldn't even leave the sliding doors open at night due to the noise. When we complained, we were told the resort was booked out, that there was nothing they could do, that there was no manager available to assist on weekends, and the staff member we spoke to showed no empathy and was incredibly rude. She also mentioned that we were allocated a poor room because we booked via a third party website and not direct (we cant see the bookings from them, it's automatic, blah blah blah). Was really disappointing to hear them running down their booking partners who feed them business. The room was very dated and the microwave looked like it was from 1985! There were thread bare curtains hanging off the tracks, cockroaches in the kitchen and exposed screws on the towel rails that ripped one of our shirts. The iron was so dirty, it left marks on our clothes when we tried to use it. The strips on the bottom of the shower doors were slimy and gross too. Overall an appalling experience for $350 a night. There are many modern and new beachfront resorts along the Esplanade that far outdo this place for quality

We decided to book a 3 bedroom plus a 2 bedroom apartment to accommodate our family ranging from grandkids to Granny and Pop. The foyer, lifts and outdoor pools as well as our units ( 5th floor and 8th floor) delivered on presentation and size. The units had spectacular views of the beachfront and ocean from the main bedrooms and living areas. The generous balconies were the perfect spot to watch the beach activities or relax with a coffee and a book. Having the patrolled beach right at the doorstep was our prime reason for choosing The Peninsular because we could check out the surf conditions from our balcony and pop over to the beach and return to the units in minutes if needed. The traffic calming along the esplanade gave us extra peace of mind whenever we walked around the area. We were spoilt for choice with a wide selection of dine-in and take-away restaurants within easy walking distance along the esplanade. Just metres from the surf club was a shady boardwalk where we strolled each afternoon.
During our stay we found the staff to be refreshingly helpful and friendly.

Main Issue:

Booked a 3 bedroom standard apartment. It was advertised as fully air conditioned but wasn't. It had one small air conditioner in the living area and fans in the rooms. The lights were terrible and didn't provide any light in the room at all (cheap low energy lights). The balcony was small and wasn't like the photos on the hotels site for "Three bedroom standard apartment". We considered raising the issue with reception but all rooms were occupied and booked at the time. The bathrooms were worn out and given the price point not worth the rate. Either this is a problem with the photos on the site or the best rooms are depicted intentionally to draw you in. I've stayed at several hotels on the esplenade over the years and the price per night is the same for much better hotels...

Positives : The location is central to the esplanade. The ocean views are good.

We always look forward to our annual stay at the Peninsular Beachfront Resort.
Nothing has changed from last visit, from being welcomed at Reception, the standard of the rooms and the location in Mooloolaba is sensational.
Look forward to staying there again as soon as possible.
I cannot speak highly enough of this Resort.

Peninsular Resort definitely met (or exceeded) our expectations for a fabulous weeks holiday on the Sunshine Coast. Our deluxe 2 bedroom apartment was exceptional, modern, so clean with all the facilities you could ever want, and stunning views over the ocean, beach and esplanade. The pool and spa were an added bonus and were perfectly maintained. A great team on the reception desk also who made us feel very welcome. Mooloolaba is a great location with so many shops and eateries on the Esplanade and the Wharf all within easy walking distance. We hired a car and visited Australian Zoo, Eumundie Markets and Noosa, no more than 30 to 40 mins away. Couldn’t have experienced a more fantastic holiday!

Absolutely excellent place to stay - perfect position above the restaurants and straight across from the beach. We booked two units to accommodate all our family members and were placed side by side. Every staff member I interacted with was always more than happy to provide us with everything we needed and were all super friendly and helpful. It had been quite a few years since we had last stayed at Peninsular (over 20) and were a little concerned about being dated but both our apartments were fully refurbished and stylish. Could not fault any part of our visit. Thank you to all concerned for making our visit so special.

We just had our 5th annual weekend away! As always it was AMAZING. The location of this hotel is right across from The Loo with a View on the beach front. There are incredible restaurants within 5 min walk and not that I do, but some of our group buy beautiful new clothes each year from shops close by.

The view from our room is amazing. We get a 3 bedroom apartment & the 6 of us have heaps of room. The staff are helpful and friendly. It is a lovely place to stay each year. Yep, we are already booked in for next year.
