When you are travelling with mobility limitations it makes it just that bit more stressful. Not Here! The staff are amazing at helping with everything from getting you a room that works for you to in the case of an emergency having someone to assist with evacuation instead of leaving it to you. If you want a great hotel with a great view in a grat location with great staff you want to stay here.

Having stayed at another Mantra at Mooloolaba which was a bit cheaper, we thought the quite pricey Zanzibar would be even better. We asked for a room on a higher floor if possible and got level four, ocean view but not great, and which was fairly close to traffic and street noise. A two bedroom apartment, both bedrooms were compact, the ensuite had a spa bath so we used the shower in the second small bathroom. This shower needed regrouting and the screen was soap stained. There was no tv in the master bedroom.
The kitchen was fully equipped but unfortunately the appliances were very well-used and the owner might consider a refurb, especially at over $400 a night. The crockery was very jaded, cheap cafeteria style. The toaster, a cheap item to replace, is an insult to guests in this price range holiday apartment. When spinning, the washing machine “walked” across the floor.
The lounge was nice enough with a sea view and big screen tv.
Checkin was quick and efficient, the staff member indicating an Accor Member welcome pack was in our room - two small bottles of water, the most underwhelming we’ve ever experienced.
The free carparking was good, and the lifts worked quickly. Gym was quite well equipped. Sadly, we would not select this Mantra again. Mooloolaba is a nice place for a holiday.

Just finished our 2nd stay here. Spent 10 enjoyable nights in a very nice, recently refurbished 3 bedroom apartment on Level 3.

Great location, opposite the beach and above many street cafes & retail shops. 5 minute walk to Coles & BWS. Lots of nice dining options within easy walking distance, including Mooloolaba Wharf. Secured parking included for 1 vehicle under the complex.

We liked the quality of the furnishings, fittings & layout of our apartment, as well as the friendly service from the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff. Very quiet location of an evening, due to there being no through traffic and the street cafes downstairs close at 6.00pm.

We didn’t enjoy staying on level 3, as the courtyard apartments below us on Level 2 invade your privacy. The Spa from 201 looks straight onto the balcony & master bedroom and noisy guests using it make it impossible to stay out on your balcony. As well guests constantly smoking in their outdoor area , ensured that our balcony was full of their exhaled smoke .... not pleasant when trying to enjoy our daily happy hour.

Our tip is, definitely stay here ... it’s a great place, but give Level 3 a miss & opt for an apartment on Level 4 or higher.

We’ll be back.... but a bit higher up next time.

Had 2 Bdrm Penthouse. Originally shown a room before booked it. Room we were shown was nice and also large bedrooms and bathrooms. The penthouse we had. Rooms small. En-suite had shower over spa. At 6 ft found difficult to step in and out due to height. Impossible for partner at 5ft to step in and out
2nd bedroom very small and beds could not be pushed together for friends staying. Curtains black from floor for first two inches. Need of good clean. You could see cleaners hadn’t cleaned well as everything smeared and could see benches and mirrors were left with circles. Floor not washed. Rooftop tables dirty and not wiped. Very disappointing. Not value for money. Spoke to receptionist. No offer of any compensation or even sending cleaners in to fix up cleaning issues. Considering a member of this hotel chain poor service all round. Also with Covid would think they would be all over cleaning

We will never stay here again. Apartment was dated and filthy, found an inhaler and an old sock under the bed along with thick dust in the master bedroom, old food packaging in the kitchen cupboard. Our room was not serviced for nine day straight even after i had requested and when they finally did arrive, they made the beds and replenished coffee/tea/toilet paper etc, no clean sheets or other cleaning. I then recieved a call two days after departure to say 1.5hrs extra cleaning was required to our apartment!? 100% dissatisfied

Great location but some aspects of the stay were disappointing. The property is aging and this reflects the overall experience rating. Things included airconditioner was difficult to get working correctly and sometimes didn't work properly. The door to the main bedroom leaked air, which wouldn't normally be a problem but it whistled. I ended up putting a pillow against it for the night. There were puddles of water outside doors and in the stairwell on the spiral stairs up to the rooftop area. This made transversing the stairs quite dangerous. The top of the stairs non-slip tape had all worn away and it meant there is a slippery surface right at the top of the spiral stairwell leading to the apartment. These are things that you shouldn't see in an apartment charging premium rates.

While the maintenance guy attended the property and got the aircon warming up by turning it right up...I'd expect that I shouldn't have to do this in a property that is rated four stars. Later I couldn't get the aircon working properly after resetting it.. Pretty disappointing

The front desk staff were extremely helpful and courteous even though on one occasion they could not fulfil a pretty basic request.

This was during checkout when I asked for a copy of the receipt. The staff member spent some time and called others but said it couldn't be done because I had booked through the Accor App. I didn't have a physical receipt (and due to covid restrictions of travel), I would have dearly liked one to be able to carry. There was not a copy available on the app either.

These are pretty basic things that need to be addressed.

Great location, within walking distance to everything! Beautiful beach and a great walking track. Great place to relax. We went before school holidays so it was nice and quiet and easy enough to get into cafes and restaurants even in these times. Our apartment had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our afternoons out on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Just beautiful! Cheers

We stayed here for 3 nights in a 3 bedroom apartment. The location is great, right on the beach and above the Main Street shops. We were told that Our apartment had been recently refurbished, unfortunately it had hardly been cleaned and we had an issue with cockroaches. Then we were notified our heating wasn’t working so they have us two fan heaters, not Ideal. I spoke with management about these issues and they handled it very well, cleaned the unit sorted the heating (temporarily) and sprayed the roaches. We even came back to a nice little hamper. None of this would put me off staying here again.

Property feeling and showing a bit of age nowadays. Whilst it's definitely in a great location and close to patrolled beach, shops and some great restaurants we would probably consider someplace else to stay next time. Issues with slippery tile flooring and water leaking from either air conditioning or master bedroom ensuite shower/spa area along with a dodgy dryer and oven were some of the issues faced in the apartment. Despite these issues Mantra staff very pleasant and helpful.

In a nutshell - the apartment we had (302) was filthy. First order of business was cleaning. The common areas fare not much better. I doubt the apartment has been properly cleaned in years. The balcony glass was dirty and again not cleaned in a long, long time. I think the one egg cup in a two bedroom apartment pretty much sums up the upkeep of the apartment. Zanzibar is living off a long gone reputation and in need of some serious cleaning and painting. Heavens knows what the body corporate fees are but whatever they are the owners aren’t getting their monies worth.
