Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Mantra Mooloolaba Beach Resort is lauded for its prime location with stunning ocean views and a variety of amenities, though some guests feel the decor could use an update and note noise disturbances. The rooms are generally clean and offer impressive views, yet there are mentions of them being somewhat dated and in need of better lighting and maintenance.
While the service receives compliments for its friendliness and professionalism, mixed opinions are expressed about the value, with some travelers finding the cost high given the additional charges and dated rooms.

good and bad points
GOOD hotel ideally placed on the beach side, our room with great sea views
clean comfortable staff friendly and Covid safe applications
basically next tosome shops including Coles
BAD basic TV only the free to air channels no options for Netflix etc
rooms have a funny configurations where the shower is in full view of the
lounge unless you use the curtain
became a Accor member last time we were here which meant free WiFi
and an hour extension on the day we were leaving. However this time we
still had the free WiFi but no hour extension. Apparently we needed to be a
gold or platinum member for the extension which wasn't told when we took
it out.
Hate when companies change the goal posts so will we go back probably

Dear George H, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Mantra Mooloolaba Beach. I am pleased that you enjoyed the convenience of our location, on the Esplanade and close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Our team will be happy to read that their hard work does not go unrecognized as we continue to strive to make all our valued guests feed welcomed, safe and comfortable during this uncertain times. Thank you for your insightful review and am glad you enjoyed the amazing views from your balcony. We do not offer Netflix at the property but do provide selective FOXTEL channels in all our apartments. One of the perks of climbing the ALL loyalty programme is receiving a complimentary midday late checkout for all Silver and above members that book direct. I am pleased though that you were able to get an hour extension on your departure when first staying with us, but this is not linked to the Accor loyalty programme as the 1200 noon checkout has always been a Silver member benefit. For more information about ALL member benefits and member status, please don't hesitate to browse our website, APP or call us to have a friendly chat. I hope I have been able to clear up some miss communicated information about our property and the Accor Loyalty Programme, and would love to opportunity to welcome you back to Mantra Mooloolaba Beach should you give us the a second chance. Kind regards, Lorna R Assistant Manager

The location was fantastic, close to the main strip of Mooloolaba (restaurants, bars, shops, coffee all within minimal walking distance), the staff were helpful and all amenities were clean however the room layout was odd. The bedroom was close to the front door of the apartment, rather than down the back of the apartment where the balcony overlooks the beach. The bed is literally the first thing you see walking through the apartment door. Unfortunately our door was in a little alcove with 2 other doors right near each other. This meant we could hear everything our neighbors were doing when exiting and entering their apartments, and even when in their apartments we could slightly hear conversations. The Sunday morning in particular was extremely loud in the hallway with people checking out but also Mantra staff cleaning, vacuuming, and knocking on doors for room service. This started around 8am and didn't finish until 9.45am. Made it very hard to have any sort of decent sleep in. The bed and pillows were also a little uncomfortable and hard. While the price was great for the location, I am not sure I would stay there again due to the room layouts, hard beds and noise of a morning.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Straight up : Management needs to place clear and visible “no smoking on the balcony” signs on both the balcony tables, AND the windows leading to the balconies.
One of the reasons we paid a fortune to stay here was the alleged “no smoking” which is clearly not enforced enough. More signage and more penalties need to apply, clearly.
The views are breathtaking and the location of the Mantra is wonderful.
The rooms themselves are quite overdue for a refurbish: from dated and stained cushions to really dirty carpets and blinds etc. it wouldn’t take much to bring it back up to speed but it really needs doing .... there are scuff marks on walls and cabinets, and chips in the tiles and missing hooks on shower curtains, etc etc; all of which add up to make a bit of a mockery of the 4 star rating. It just feels a bit grubby.
Staff were really fantastic.
Zero issues there.
They do a fantastic job.
Oh and also > don’t pay a fortune for the wifi - ask them to join the Accor group. You shouldn’t have to pay additional money for wifi.
All in all if convenience and view are your priority it’s a good option, but it’s definitely not up to the rating.

Stayed one night (thankfully we didn’t book for two) in a one bedroom ocean view.
Staff were lovely upon entry. Logan (I believe) was very helpful and professional. The view was amazing.
The air conditioning was stuck on cold only. Even when turned off, the vents were still pushing through cold air.
There was mould on the ceiling next to the vents.
The bed only had a flat sheet on it. Severely frustrating when trying to sleep in the middle of winter, WITHOUT a heater. There was a light blanket that was in the cupboard which did nothing to help the situation.
Bed was hard as rock, felt like we may as well of been sleeping on the ground.
The bed was right next to the front door entry, so you could hear EVERYTHING that was happening in the hallway and elevator. There was a lot of light from the hallway coming under the door too. There is also a pull down blind in the bedroom that doesn’t block the light coming in from the hallway either.
Only two PowerPoints in the bedroom which at least one is needed to have a lamp on for light in the bedroom, so only one of us could charge our phone at night.
The walls are so paper thin that we could hear our neighbours having a verbal fight all afternoon. We then proceeded to hear them very clearly “making love” at 2am.
The flagpole outside the balcony makes a very annoying clunking sound all day and night.
Online and in the in room book it says that there is room service. I believe that it should state ALCOHOL room service as we assumed it was including food. (Which it wasn’t)
The in room book also said that there would be supplies for the spa bath. We soon found out that was actually the complimentary Shampoo/Conditioner.
Definitely NOT worth what we paid for.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hi KellyGibson91, Thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We are pleased you found the staff to be friendly, helpful & professional. We apologise for the issues experienced in your room. Our team are available 24 hours and always more than happy to assist our guests with any issues or requests during their stay. On this occasion we would have been able to have the maintenance team assist you with the air-conditioning to warm the room and ensure you were comfortable for your stay. Whilst I completely understand your frustration I also suggest to all of our guests to let us know of any issues or dissatisfaction whilst you are staying to give us the chance to rectify these issues and give our guests the relaxing and enjoyable stay that we are so well known for as Our friendly team would have been able to assist with all the issues listed in your review. It is disappointing that you have said you would not return due to these issues however we wish you all the best for your future travels and if you do return to Mooloolaba we would love the opportunity to better serve you. The Resort Club booked us into a 1 bedroom superior apartment at the Mantra Mooloolaba Beach. We specifically asked for a separate bedroom with a door that would close to stop noise so one of us could sleep without being disturbed but when the other of us was in the living area but against my request the bedroom was only separated by plantation shutters. Worse still the bedroom was located at the entrance of the unit. Immediately outside were the lifts, the garbage shute (next tho the bedroom wall) and next door's unit entrance. It was virtually impossible to rest and sleep because of slamming doors, loud voices and the sounds of the garbage shute, lift bell ringing throughout day and night. When making our booking request we specifically asked the Resort Club for a separate bedroom that closed and emphasized our requirements for rest and quiet. It was impossible for us to rest. The washing machine was inoperable, however the hotel staff washed and dried our clothes at no charge. We asked the Resort Club not to locate us over a swimming pool to avoid noise, but they failed to take heed that request as well. To sum up, our Resort Club booking experience was less than satisfactory and the accommodation didn't come close to matching our requested booking desires. The Resort Club holds a considerable number of vouchers we have already paid for but this recent experience of booking through the Resort Club has reduced our trust in the Resort Club's abilities to meet our reservation requests. These defects diminished the enjoyment of our stay and severely damaged our trust in the Resort Club.

We stayed at the Mantra for 5 nights and we were very impressed with the facilities and closeness to the beach and shops. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with kitchenette, which allowed us to minimize our breakfast and dinner costs. Coles is next door and O'Malleys Irish Pub was located just outside the main doors of the hotel.
We had a second floor room with a balcony and we could see the ocean from it. King bed and spa bath, along with small fridge, microwave and washer/dryer were included.
We had all TV stations and some Foxtel stations on both TV's in lounge and bedroom. Small table with 2 chairs and crockery came with the room.
Parking was free and underneath, access from main road and Coles carpark, via room card swipe.
Staff were very amenable and available 24 hours. Room service available at a price.
Good Covid-19 precautions were applied.

Ocean view we paid for was 2 floors above the pool and bbq, all you could hear with the balcony door open was the other guests. Spa was dirty and spouted grey scum onto us when we turned it on. The “King size” bed on the website was two singles pushed together that may as well have been a pull out sofa.
The walls are super thin, we were woken up each day by the “ding dong” as the other guests left. Then shortly after we had the pleasure of listening to the cleaners and their vacuum in the rooms around us.
The website also states Foxtel, our room didn’t have it. Just a tiny tv and a DVD player.

We stayed as part of a Jetstar package. We were in room 613 overlooking the pool and with sea views. The apartment was roomy, clean and had a little balcony which had morning sun. The location is just across the road from the beach with all manner of eateries downstairs and along the Esplanade. It is also right next door to a supermarket. We didn't have a car but there was plenty to do in the five days within walking distance. The pool and BBQ areas were also clean and well maintained. The best surprise for us though was on the last day. Our flight home was not until 8.15pm and not only were we able to store our suitcases after the 10am checkout, we were also given a day pass which allowed us to access the pool and the gym for showers so we could spend the day at the beach but still look presentable for our flight home. In effect this gave us an extra day of holidays. So grateful! The staff was professional and always accommodating. It was our first visit to Mooloolaba but it certainly won't be our last.

The apartment was well located close to fantastic cafes & restaurants and a great selection of shops along the Esplanade just out the front door. Coles also next door to grab groceries. We enjoyed a very spacious 3 bedroom apartment with lovely views of the ocean, city and mountains. The front desk staff were so helpful with extra fresh towels, washing powder etc as needed. It was also great that beach towels were provided - less to pack !
Downside is that the pool was much smaller than we expected from the photos so it was quite crowded, especially as we are all trying to socially distance but the beautiful beach is just across the road.

Great hotel in wonderful location. My only tiny niggle was the design of the kitchen sink. No draining area so washed pots sit on the bench top and water gets everywhere. Can be prevented by laying the supplied tea towel under draining board. Then you need to ask house keeping for an extra tea towel to dry your hands on etc.
