We had two week nights in a studio room with 2 double beds and a one bedroom apartment with queen bed which was next door-- on the second floor ( 210 and 211) Both were spotlessly clean and very well equipped with electrical items in good working order and ( in the apartment) a well equipped laundry. The apartment, which is where we gathered as a family was very spacious with a separate walk in and spacious wardrobe . The lounge furniture was comfortable and the table seated 4. Between the two rooms we had access to 3 balconies with two different aspects allowing us to choose the best one for the time of day. All beds were very comfortable and clearly freshly laundered and there were plenty of spare pillows. The showers in both bathrooms were excellent with a bonus being that in the apartment the shower space was configured to assist someone with mobility and balance support and space needs. The apartment also had a bath. Free and easily accessible parking was available. We did not stay long enough to try the restaurant or gym ( although did check the latter out and it is well equipped) . It is mainly for this reason that we feel that we cannot give a higher rating. Also some ( but not all) of the reception staff were more offhand than welcoming.

Typical looking 4 star resort without the trimmings. We stayed 2 nights but were very disappointed. Reception hours are between 8am and 5pm. You are given a piece of paper on arrival which outlines facilities etc. As per the sheet “Upon departure, your unit should be left in a neat and tidy condition. Rubbish is to be removed and placed in the garbage chutes located to the left of the lifts on your level.” They then go on to say they will charge your credit card for the time it takes to restore your room to its original condition if you don’t comply. We paid a lot less, had more room facilities and a much friendlier atmosphere at the 3 star motels.

Response from Pelican Waters Resort, General Manager at Pelican Waters Resort

Hi Anitas, Im sorry to hear you didn't feel we had many facilities onsite and fail to compare to a 3 star motel. Our resort offers tennis courts, sim golf, sports bar, restaurant, 2 pools, a hairdresser, bbq area and more which we feel are excellently maintained. Asking a guest to remove rubbish and keep unit in a tidy manner upon departure is a pretty standard request in resorts, motels and any accommodation really. This prevents housekeepers walking into a dumping ground where guests have abused the rooms resulting in hours of cleaning to have the apartment back to standard for the next guest. We like to ensure all guests are arriving into a beautiful room and presentation.

Disapointed that on arrival, we were given a piece of paper, (which we did not read until day 2), advising that the room would not be serviced daily, (by that time I had put the towels on the floor to be changed) only if you stayed for over a week then your room would be serviced after day 3 or 4, you can ask for clean towels but at a charge. Also you must remove rubbish and put it in the garbage room shute on leaving, otherwise your credit card would be charged. I have never experienced this in any hotel/motel, even 2-3 stars, resort any where else in the world. We stayed 4 days, on day 3 my husband asked for more toilet paper and clean towels, husband asked why our room had not been serviced, we were told, it was a studio appartment, reception was quite flippant, but agreed to the request, although did not replace either, had to go ask a second time, told we did not have to pay for the clean towels.

Very enjoyable week at this resort. We were in rooms 210 and 211. Both rooms very comfortable, clean with excellent decor. Apartment 210 is a 1 bedroom unit with a very spacious bathroom suitable for a person with a disability. The shower seat and appropriate rails are well appointed but in such a way they are not at all intrusive. The bed is incredibly comfortable with lots of pillow choices. Great reading lights, also a walk in wardrobe. The kitchen is very well equipped with hot plates, a convection/microwave oven and a large fridge/freezer. The lounge is large and comfortable with 2 decks, one of which overlook the 2 pools, golf course and lake. Room 211 is a studio which is also spacious, very comfortable and well decorated. The restaurant/cafe has very nice food and coffee. The gym is very well equipped and there are 2 tennis courts which are well maintained. The golf course is fantastic (there is a cost for this). I will definitely return and highly recommend

Was so sad to see this once lovely hotel / resort reduced to its current state of neglect and disrepair . Having stayed at this hotel some years ago , and with fond memories of the quality , style ,professional service and presentation that was once on offer , I booked with a degree of high expectations . I was saddened to see , due to constant management changes and neglect the resort now reduced to a below average facility . Years of neglect are obvious on arrival , overgrown gardens , unmaintained fountains and water features , damaged and dirty furniture in foyer , restaurant and all pool and public areas . Swimming pools with missing tiles , damaged paintwork and flow fountains that don’t work ( all a far cry from their brochure photo ) We were greeted by a “ Less Than Enthusiastic Receptionist “, who seemed to think it was (Professional) to continue eating her bowl of fruit salad whilst checking us in .Our room (325), was as expected ,tired , drab and in need of some care , in housekeeping’s defence it was clean . The room was badly appointed - nil glasses apart from 3 miss matched wine glasses , fridge freezer that was complete iced up , an ironing board that had a broken leg , hence not able to put up, an iron that “spat ‘ rust water , down lights not working and no phone or internal communication what so ever ( perhaps the just don’t want you to be able to complain or comment ) Don’t get excited about the F&B on offer , breakfast in the cafe is to say the lease “ VERY POOR “ eggs eggs and more eggs , they do through in avocado if you looking for a healthy option !!! However don't go looking for a piece of fruit , healthy cereals , yoghurt ,toast , crosiant , spreads or juice ,as we were informed by a rather “disinterested waitress”, that’s the breakfast menu , coffee was good !!. For the rest of our stay we chose to eat out at a number of the excellent local restaurants. Could go on for pages , Pelican Waters Resort is badly in need of a complete upgrade , is overpriced for what is on offer and is carrying a number of untrained and unprofessional staff ,their are a lot of better accommodation houses on offer , not as costly and offering a much more professional experience.Cheers K PS I believe it is Privately Run the Gym was well equipped ,clean congrats to the operators.

My wife & I spent 5 days at this hotel in a 1 bed spa suit with pool view during the period 1-5 Dec on a package that included free breakfast. This hotel would be the worst hotel we have stayed in. The suit was not cleaned after the previous guests left & us occupying the room, although their facebook page now states that the restaurant is closed during our stay we weren’t advised of this prior to or at any time during our stay.m We found the following 1. We had to wash the cups & utensils used by previous guests before we could use them. 2. There was a large dried blood smeared on one of the curtains. 3. Our free breakfast consisted of fruit juice, cereal, toast & jam, tea & coffee was available but had to be paid for. Breakfast on the second morning was the same except tea & coffee wasn’t available. 4. There was no TV reception on either TV in our suit for 2 days. 5. The light switch to the bathroom light didn’t work properly. 6. Although this is a non smoking hotel ashtrays were provided on every deck/balcony. 7. The undercover secure parking area was not secure. 8. When you asked to speak to somebody in charge to complain to there was never anybody available, complaints sent by email were never replied to. This hotel was an absolute disgrace & we would not recommend this hotel to anybody

Simply put: Our stay was disappointing, our room was dirty & this place is in desperate need of a facelift & new management. We booked a Spa Suite for my birthday for 2 nights. Firstly, we found a used face washer still hanging in the shower. Secondly, we wanted a spoon to eat the birthday cake we’d bought... opened the drawer & took one out only to find it was crusted over with brown residue. Thirdly, there were big brown stains on the curtain in our bedroom. We were so grossed out, we emailed reception during our stay. They simply replied by saying someone could come remove the dirty face cloth & spoon (the next day...) There was no apology at all. Not to mention, the ‘Free Wifi’ did not work, regardless of how many times we called reception. The breakfast downstairs was awful. Looking around the restaurant we could see/hear other guests complaining. I have never ever in my life time ordered pancakes at a “4*” Restaraunt and out it came - ONE burnt pancake drenched in sauce, No ice cream, no fruit, nothing! Not to mention you can hear the floors above you stomp around their rooms. The carpets in the rooms are stained & worn. Management or whoever was on the front desk during the 27-29 Sept are completely oblivious to the poor experience guests are experiencing. There was absolutely NOTHING to eat on site for these dates as the restaurant is closed on Sunday & Monday. Not even so much as a vending machine. Other than a beautiful pool with views, this hotel is run down & we would definitely not pay top dollar for it. Also, you have to wash your own dishes and put them away (there is no dishwasher) so the cleanliness of the cutlery/plates/cups etc is left up to the previous guest. Even your own rubbish has to be taken out to a shoot. If we wanted to do housework we would of stayed at home. Mega disappointed. No response from management. Never again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the pool and golf course. The views were absolutely stunning and very calming. The apartment was well maintained and extremely clean and comfortable and we were able to cook some meals which is great when you are away for a longer time. We ate in the restaurant and the food was well presented and delicious. All the staff were friendly. We also had room service for dinner one night and it was brought up to our apartment very quickly and was still warm very apetising. The golf course is well maintained and a pleasure to play on. Even though this resort is a little out of Caloundra there are plenty of facilities to use. The pool area is large and beautiful and well maintained. The grounds are immaculate. We will certainly stay here again when we return to Caloundra.

Our room was nice and it had a good sized balcony with a table and 4 chairs. Beds comfy and the bathroom was a good size. We loved the pool, particularly how quiet it was and the shallow kids section. Laundry was free to use as well. Breakfast was good, however some mornings things like boiling water for a cup of tea took 40 minutes to be put out (despite us asking 2 or 3 times). The negatives - housekeeping was hit and miss and by miss, I mean missed us all together. Our bin was only emptied once in a 4 night stay (and the room had one teeny tiny bin). We didn't get towels at all one day and as reception was shut, we got some pool towels and made do. Reception shut at 5pm on weekdays and even earlier on weekends. The overall vibe from staff is that they hate working there and they need a uniform so staff at least look presentable. The place had just changed ownership the day before we arrived, so perhaps things will improve. We are highly unlikely to return.

Stayed 13-14/5/2022 what a crap place, the whole place was underwhelming. The straw that broke the camels back, I stayed with 8 girls in 4 rooms where we split each rooms cost evenly. My card was charged twice one a week prior for my half and again on Saturday. Called to get refund and the dude advised he could not refund and I need to sort it out with the other girls. 2 things come to mind I gave then no authorization to charge my card apart from the initial payment. I was not the organizer so why did they charge my card, could they not seen who had not paid or advised on check in some funds were short.
Spoke to the resort today and was given no assurances I was going to get refund on my card as the funds were held in a trust account- what a crock of bull, be aware this resort will rob you.
In a nut shell the place was run down and restaurants were closed. Industrial machinery floor cleaner working at 7.50am Sunday in the reception. What the...) There was no assistance to my situation, I feel there is a breach of consumer law, as I did not provide my card on check in so they have retained my details without my knowledge or consent.
I would recommend any other place BUT this one.
