The room card reader system was not working when we arrived, a little inconvenient having to have the reception staff let you into your room however it was repaired by the second day. Staff were friendly and attentive.
The showers could have done with a good scrub and we found dirty dishes in the cupboards, easily fixed we just filled the dishwasher to ensure it was all clean for us to use. No rubbish Shute on the floor, you had to take it down to the car park if you wanted to dispose of any rubbish yourself.
Beds were comfortable and the room was serviced daily which I did not expect. Windows that opened, laundry facilities in the bathroom for convenience. Full kitchen with cooktop, oven, full fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, crockery, pots/pans etc.
Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre across the street with a food court downstairs and Chatswood Westfield with two food courts right behind the Hotel with the Train Station next door.
We had hired a car and had to pay for parking $25 per day, the parking was convenient straight downstairs in the lift.
This Hotel was just short 15 minute drive from the city, overall a nice Hotel.

Hi MonanMatt, Thankyou for your 4 star review of the Hotel. Unfortunately and unusually the card reader system failed, which required an IT specialist to repair the issue. Please be assured that is not the usual standard of the Hotel. On behalf of the Hotel we apologise for any inconvenience caused. I will pass on your feedback in regards to the Housekeeping as this is certainly not the usual standard of the Hotel. All of the crockery and cutlery are cleaned via the in-room dishwashers at high temperatures to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitised. If you are a guest of Silkari Hotels, we will happily collect any rubbish from your apartment and this is part of the daily servicing. I apologise if this was not explained. As a guest of the Hotel, we would not expect you to dispose of any rubbish yourself. I am please to read that you enjoyed the location and found our staff friendly and attentive. Lovely one bedroom apartment with good sized combined living, dining and kitchen, large bathroom, comfy king size bed, laundry and all the little extras to make your stay easier. It was possible to prepare basic meals in the kitchen as it was stocked with pans, plates and cooking utensils. The apartment was lovely and quiet despite being situated in a busy shopping precinct. Parking is available for an extra $25 a day and is in a very secure car park. If you need to take public transport the train and buses are only a short walk away. Finally the team at Silkari Chatswood were very friendly and super helpful.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment for a few months while renovating a house. Very central location across the road from Chatswood Chase. Nicely appointed and comfortable with friendly staff. I think it is very good value, cheaper than renting an unfurnished two bedroom unit with a 6 months lease (if you stay for month) They have a weird parking system as you have to get your parking card validated at the front desk every time you want to drive out. On the plus side there's free coffee in the foyer in the mornings. But it is a bit of a hassle. Kitchen has very basic equipment - difficult to cook anything but simple or pre-prepared meals. Noisy cheap dishwasher and a washer/drier combo that has difficulty drying much at all. I also didn't like the way the fan comes on with the light in the bathroom it was very noisy. Noise was the biggest downside, even on the North Facing units away from the alley where they collect the garbage, there was almost every night a truck or the stupid council cleaning the streets at 3am with a motorised blower! It meant you can't really sleep with a window open, or you'll be woken up and have to close it during the night. During the day if you will hear the school recess and lunch and morning announcements. So yes central but quite noisy.

The team at Silkari pride ourselves on the service we provide and I am pleased to read that you experienced this during your extended stay. I will certainly pass this on to team. The Hotel shares a carpark entrance with The Concourse, and as you are aware provides secure uncover parking with direct access to your rooms. As a security measure we do ask for the tickets to be validated at reception for each departure. As most of our guests are short term Hotel stays, this is usually not a concern for our guests. However, I do take this feedback on board and is something we may be able to review for any longer term stays, such as yours. However, the Hotel is not a residential apartment building and we do need to take into account all security measures for our Hotel guests. The Hotel does provide the essentials in the kitchen and laundry for shorter to medium term stays, and this is something we can review for longer term guests such as yourselves. However, it is important to note the Hotel is fitted for Hotel accommodation stays rather than residential long term accommodation. As the Hotel is located in the centre of Chatswood, all of the rooms have double glazed windows and as such the hotel rarely receives any noise issues from outside of the Hotel. It is certainly something the team will follow on from. The Hotel is located in the heart of Chatswood and as you mention enjoys an enviable location next to Chatswood Chase, Westfield and the local restaurants. On check-in on arrival we were told our room was small but we could step up to a larger rom for an additional fee if we wanted. We declined the offer.
On entering the room we found it to be clean but smaller than we imagined. There was a toaster high up in the cupboard; a microwave; a coffee machine (no instant coffee); a stove with hot plates; and a full size fridge. But no table and no chairs to sit on. So, to eat a meal we had to sit on the bed or stand up.
As for the TV, it was wall mounted on swivel arms and was located near the corner of the passage entrance. It was badly located as I hit my head on it (only once) while going around the corner.
One other small problem was the bedside light on my side of the bed was not working and after telling the front desk about it, nothing was done about it. It was not an issue but we felt something should have been done about it.
However on a more positive note, we found the bed, the pillows and the shower to be very good. Then in the morning, guests were invited to have a tea or cappuccino coffee with a freshly cooked muffin ... a very nice touch.
As for the staff, they seemed very courteous, friendly and happy.
Overall I would suggest any one contemplating staying at the Silkara Suites to check out the suite size before booking. It is easy to do, after all, the room sizes are stated on the detailed descriptions provided for the various rooms.

I sincerely apologise that our maintenance team did not fix your beside lamp as they team a very prompt in ensuring our guests comfort comes first The room you stayed in, is as explained on the website a hotel sized room. We do only have one of these rooms within the hotel and we do feel it is priced accordingly. Next time you stay with us, why not try our Executive Studio apartments which are a very generous 40 sqm or our One Bedroom Apartments at 54 sqm. Looking forward to welcoming you back again.

I have stayed here on a number of occasions in the past and it has been my ‘go to’ when visiting the northern parts of Sydney for work and other travel.
This time (albeit a couple of covid years after my last visit) was disappointing.
Check in experience was great with the usual professional courtesy and service.
The room on the other hand (2 bedroom apartment) was tired, devoid of character and, in the case of the sofa/couch, dirty. There were nasty white stains all over one of the couch cushions which should have been cleaned prior to guests using the room.
It left a bit of an overall ‘icky’ feeling that I couldn’t shake. The only other chairs were dining chairs so no real options to relax and enjoy. Also I assume the furnishings were bare due to covid, but it did make the room feel a bit like a cheap apartment.
I chose not to request a new room as we were only staying overnight. COVID concerns stopped me for asking for housekeeping.
Hopefully this is a one off.

This is the 5th time we have stayed here. The reason we keep returning is firstly because of the close location to all amenities. The metro and train station are only a short 5 minute walk away. Lots and f great restaurants the Korean BBQ restaurant is a must . Silkari offers a complimentary coffee/ hot chocolate every morning with a barista .
The rooms are a generous size with 2 bathrooms. Lots of free movies to choose from

Super convenient location in the heart of Chatswood yet the room was quiet. There was him from air conditioned office buildings around but it didn’t stop us sleeping at all.
Room layout is much more generous and functional than your average hotel room. There was a kitchenette with dishwasher, washing machine, cooktop and coffee machine … and more.
Reception was pleasant and efficient. They have a free coffee cart downstairs in the morning.
Parking was in the building. (Drive past reception, enter the Concorde car park on your left and follow the Silkiari signs.
I will happily stay here again.

I stayed at Silkari a few years back and left a glowing review. I booked to stay here again, in a hotel room rather than a suite. It’s much more compact than the apartments; however by UK hotel standards, the room size is still decent. Room 104 however was dingy with limited natural light and a peculiar odour. It looked out onto a flat roof covered in dust where there were used tea bags and other debris, presumably thrown there by previous guests. The room was superficially clean but in less visible places, e.g when I went to use the plug socket behind the bedside table, layers of dust had collected, possibly over a number of years. Room 104 is also just above the main entrance so I was disturbed when people were standing outside chatting. And if there were also smoking, the smell of this drifted up in to the room. The saving graces were the nice bed linen and the free barista coffee each morning. I found the reception staff nice and friendly to me; however on a couple of occasions when I was entering / leaving the building they were talking amongst themselves slagging off customers - do so in ear shot of paying guests I thought was outrageously unprofessional. It was 5 years since my previous stay at Silkari Chatswood and the impression I was left with is that it’s seriously gone down hill in that time.

Dear 605pw, Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. As you mention room 104 is a smaller size Hotel Room. It is the only such room the hotel has, and is usually sold at a discounted rate. We sell this room at a discounted rate, because as you mention it is a smaller room and it is located on the first floor above the entrance. All of the other rooms are Apartment Style - ranging from an Executive Studio Apartment (40m2), Executive One Bedroom Apartment (57m2) and an Executive Two Bedroom Apartment (72m2). We are aware of the debris on the flat roof that you mention. Due to the complexity of reaching this area , this is cleaned on a three monthly cycle. However, over the pandemic, the hotel has pushed this out to 6 monthly. We appreciate your feedback and will review this back to 3 monthly. I will follow up with housekeeping as the hotel prides itself on the cleanliness of the rooms and this is certainly not the usual standard of the Hotel. Please accept our apologises. I stayed here for a three night weekend to visit a friend and absolutely loved this hotel. The location is perfect for shopping and restaurants - Chatswood Chase and Westfield are so close on foot.
The room itself was very well appointed. The fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher were brilliant and the washer/dryer made it so convenient to stay a few days.
Everything was clean and the staff were pleasant.
The room rate was super reasonable too.
I looked at a few different hotels in Chatswood and I’m very happy I chose this one.
Absolutely no complaints and I would love to return with my family next time.

We have tried all the various accomodation options in Chatswood due to regular business travel and the Silkari is an absolute standout.
Excellent location and extremely comfortable ,with all amenities and the friendliest and most helpful staff we’ve encountered.
The barista in the foyer creates a wonderful coffee to start the day and Chatswood offers a delicious selection of restaurants for meals.
The Silkari just goes that one bit further for service and comfort.

The hotel provides paid underground parking on request.
Yes Parking available under Hotel but will cost maybe $25 per day.
I think so, I saw families with Babys in the Hotel. And they looked happy 😉 Ronald, Berlin
I’m not to sure but doubt it
the hotel is a short walk from chatswood station which is ok if you dont have luggage. if you are not travelling light it might be a bit of a bother. luggage with wheels might still be ok. i had take a cab and it cost around 85 AUD and takes less than 45 mins
