Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

the facilities are fine, it is a hotel to sleep, as soon as the service was the only thing I found that lack improvement, there is a lot of misinformation, there is no coordination. the jacuzzi does not work and I find that a jacuzzi is very important for a hotel. the breakfast was cold little and expensive, if they improve this problem, the hotel becomes an important attraction of the area because the rooms are very comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, calm, comfortable, quiet, good price. the rooms are excellent compared to other hotels, quite enjoy with my boyfriend. Although the hotel does not have a restaurant inside they have room service.

I booked two rooms via Expedia. We arrived at 1:30 and were told rooms were not ready before 3:00 check in. At 4:30 when we returned one of the rooms was still not ready--had to wait another 15 minutes. The rooms were spacious, with good air and nice amenities (bed, bath supplies, safe, etc.), but the hanging closet door fell off and phone in bathroom detached from the wall in one room. We decided to have the hotel breakfast the 2nd day and ordered the night before. After waiting 15 minutes past requested time, breakfast delivered was cold and served without even the coffee we had ordered. The food was not as described (menu said included coffee and juice--waiter said one or other) and my 2 scrambled eggs were not even one medium sized egg. We decided to leave to eat breakfast elsewhere and were told the manager was not available until 10:30. After 10:30 when I went to discuss problems with manager, they were contacted and I was told that they were sleeping. Since I was not charged, this was OK, but I expect things to deteriorate when hoel management is bad or non-existent. The staff were very nice. The roooms are comfortable (bordering luxurious) but the location is out-of-town and the street leading to local business area at night was so dark we turned around and returned to hotel without dinner the first night. I don't think I'd like to return.

From the photos you would think you are in paradise, but it is deceptive. The whole thing is located in a run down area way south of any of the other attractions, clubs, hotels or even beaches. You will find yourself feeling isolated there and not comfortable leaving the grounds, which is maybe the idea. The hotel is not nearly as nice as it rates itself. Certainly not as well appointed or serviced as I would expect for the money. I guess there are no rules for hotel ratings in some countries. This goes along with the casino, which certainly is not a place you would want to spend any real time or or risk anything other than a few dollars (pesos). The whole thing had a shady feel to it. I guess I would say, like it is there to collect money, as opposed to provide a genuine resort experience as they would make you think. Sorry - but that is what I observed, and I am reasonably well travelled.

OK, so…I drive there early before a holiday weekend. I get there, my room is ground floor, on the pool. I ask for a new room they say they don't have one. Except i can see they're waiting for other guests to check in. I don't feel like fighting so I take it.

So i go to the room and the headboard and Mattress are INFESTED with ants. After several excuses it is suggested to me that i just take the bug spray AND SPRAY MY PILLOWS AND THE MATTRESS WITH BAYGON.

SO…I go crazy on the staff in the lobby, in front of other guests checking in and all of a sudden theres another room.

hmmmmm

Having said all this. he rooms are nice when they're not covered in ants, the pool is good, the staff is slow and not very helpful. Trying to check out was also a nightmare that if i re-live it will make me sad.

Avoid it if you can…if you can't make sure its cheap

Let's start by saying the surrounding neighborhood is not the greatest. I will admit once you enter the compound in the center of the city it does have a resort feel. There is a man armed with a shot gun to lower a chain to let you in. My wife is Dominican, but I feel as if most foreigners would not feel comfortable in the immediate surrounding neighborhoods.
We had several rooms booked well in advance. The rooms are decently modern and appealing. However the room my wife and I stayed in had a very musky, mildew like odor. The answer was for them to spray some glade or some other spray. They are also very concerned about towel theft and only give you 2 towels and you are given instructions not to remove them. We shower at night and in the morning and called for extra towels and they said you will get new ones after room service. My wife said she wanted them now. So they brought 2 towels but didn't want to give them until she returned the 2 used towels one of which she had around her. They reluctantly gave her the 2 new towels.
My son also clogged the toilet around 10pm in his room. They have no night service so it was not unclogged until 11:00 am after we reminded them again. They are very stingy as there are no tissues in the room and only one roll of toilet paper. I also was unable to figure out how to use the electronic safe located in the room despite carefully following the directions and having an engineering background. The included breakfast a choice of Dominican or American was actually decent and would rate higher than the poor grade I am giving.
On premise is a nice well kept pool and spa. A very outdated casino that despite supposedly being fully booked had maybe 2 guests in it when I walked through along with maybe 3 or 4 locals. The casino had maybe 3 or 4 card tables and maybe 25 video poker and slot machines. I can assure you I will not be staying here again even if the cost was half what we payed.
My son also reported that the WiFi is horribly slow and did not allow him to even come close to playing any of his video games on line.
I also needed to beg to get a second plastic key for each room. Not sure the reasoning behind that but is definitely needed with it being needed to use elevator and to operate lights in the room.

Very nice hotel, huge rooms witb nice view to garden-pool, perfect bedding, friendly staff. Need of own mean of transport as it is close to center but at dustance not walkable. Bery cheap for what offers. Better than pay double-triple and stay at worst rooms at the "beach"..

Great hotel, Clean and friendly staff, great breakfast included. I would have given five stars but the morning person would not honour the night staff rates and my Spanish was not good enough to convey my issue.

this hotel is really nice, clean with very helpful staff. Inside as outside everything is well taken care of. They help you find whatever you want to do. I really recommend this hotel. You can enjoy the casino, it's not Las Vegas but i had great fun. The weather being so hot we really appreciated the big swimming pool. Also the security is one big priority for them inside and outside the Hotel.

We stayed on this hotel last month and I really enjoy it, the bedroom was always clean, the girls from the front desk were very nice, they give us instructions, the hotel is not that closer from the beach and mini town either ,you got to use your own car or ask for a taxi because if you walk, you'll get tired.
