Detailed Reviews
When you plan a trip or vacation in the Dom Rep Las Terrenas definitely is one of the places to be!
Nice sea, beautiful water and from our side the cleanest beaches we saw till now here. It has a good mix between the touristic and local side.
We absolutely can recommend this amazing place from the bottom of our heart, so special, peaceful, like a small oasis in the middle of Las Terrenas. Friendly and flexible service. These guys working there definitely had a heart for pets, too!
We loved that there were no longer ways from our hotel to the beach, bars, restaurants with more european prices but also typical places to eat where we especially can recommend one like D'Edwin (you can find in Google Maps) with honest local prices and delicious food.
And last but not least you will enjoy your stay here because the hotel manager Max takes care of each guest in such a kind and honest way that you won't want to leave Takuma anymore. It felt like home!

Pros: Kind staff, the guys at the reception speak fluent English, nicely decorated room with a lot of space, good location in LT. On our last day we could also leave our luggages at the hotel to go to the beach without big bags.
Cons: Our jacuzzi did not work for 1,5 days and we could not enjoy it, however, we paid more to use this facility (we received free pina colada, but obviously it did cover the extra charge paid for the jacuzzi) We also asked a transfer but we waited 90 mins as the hotel's taxi driver was late. They offered us the drive for free of charge but our bill included this as well.

Dear Garics, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are very sorry for the incidents met and we hope it did not tarnish your stay with us. Indeed the taxi were looking for you but he did not have signal in the mountain which made the situation more difficult... we are sorry again for keeping you waiting that long. Thanks again and see you soon, Max

Charming, intimate hotel, located in a quiet street but nevertheless close to the center, tasteful decoration and a warm welcome, in the right tone, which makes you feel at home. Left with regrets after 6 days and the desire to return. A very good choice

I can not say enough good things about this charming hotel. From the moment we arrived and every time we returned home at the end of the day, the staff were friendly, welcoming and willing to go above and beyond. They gave us perfect recommendations for how to travel to/where to park to visit El Limon waterfall, and accommodated our afternoon coffee desires even when their cafe was closed. (Their espressos are delicious!) Additionally, breakfast was DELICIOUS with fresh fruit everyday, freshly squeezed juice, coffee, and a complete menu with any type of eggs, omelet, avocado toast, and other local breakfast food options. We didn't try the smoothies but they looked very good! Every day our rooms were beautifully cleaned. There was gated parking and the hotel itself felt very secure, just a quick walk from the beach. This hotel was a large part of the reason we loved the Dominican Republic so much! (Playa Punta Poppy was our favorite, which is closest to Takuma). I can't recommend this place enough, we will be back for sure!

First of all, we want to apologize for the late review. We got back to Curacao and regretted getting on that airplane. I think that says enough! Thank you so much for the hospitality, amazingly beautiful hotel and super fantastic "must do" quad rental. You all and especially Luis made sure we enjoyed our vacation to the max. We will be back but hope to see you guys here on the island too...

We visited Las Terrenas on a couple’s getaway and couldn’t be more excited to have found Takuma hotel. The hotel is cozy, small and extremely clean. Perfectly located and walking distance to everything (beaches, restaurants and Pueblo de Los Pescadores) but while it is in the center, lts in a quiet area.
The breakfast is superb and the personalized service was fantastic. The hotel owner, Max, gave us great recommendations on restaurants and things to see. Overall a fantastic experience.
From the staff, Maoli and Iamdra were A-mazing! Super respectful, kind and attentive. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Las Terrenas.

Hello, we do have gluten free with continental breakfast, crepes are replaced by cereals but we do not have gluten free bread.
Continental is made of fresh fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, hot drinks, bread (with gluten) and crepes that can be replaced by cereals. Thank you.
A bientôt,
