This is something really quite special…and I can recommend it. The hotel, comprising some thirty plus room spread across six floors, was only completed last week (late February) and I was the second guest!
With good security and an adequate car park, the site is accessed from the Las Terrenas bypass road so no need to take the considerable risk of an unnecessary drive through the pretty chaotic town centre.
A welcome drink arrived while checking in. The décor, especially on the ceiling, is original and thoughtful throughout. Wood used in the table surfaces throughout the property are from the Saman tree (hence the name) and the evidence is everywhere. The huge tree overlooking the main pool area is a spectacular example of one of these trees. No expense has been spared on detail and originality. (The table legs in the dining area are made from preserved railway lines from the last disused railway in the Dominican Republic, see photo.)
The room I had was large and well appointed throughout. Comfortable bed, well appointed en suite bathroom, and wide screen TV.
The restaurant menu is varied with good opening hours. Breakfast is excellent.
Two pools are available; the main pool under that spectacular Saman tree and a second one on the 6th floor. This top floor pool is a nice little extra and has it’s own facilities.
The beach is about five minutes drive. Quite a long walk but quite possible for the determined. It is not a main road to I’d guess pretty safe to walk by day. Another well-known attraction of the area is a thirty minute drive away, the El Limon waterfall which can be hiked or reached on horseback.
As with everything in life, you pay for what you get and the price I was charged of $US 180 was certainly fair for what was offered. A very enjoyable and relaxing few days…thank you!

This hotel is by far one of the best hotels that I have visited in the Dominican Republic. The decoration and theme of the hotel is amazing. The customer service is exceptional all of the employees are nice and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to spend time at a quite, updated, and secure hotel. The breakfast options that they provide in the morning are tasteful and filling. During these times with covid they have many protocols in place which ensures that everyone stay safe including complimentary masks and lots of hand sanitizer. I definitely will be returning in the near future and would recommend others to come and enjoy this beauty!

Excellent service with great amenities and design concept with wood capped by the lush natural scenery.
The breakfast service was outstanding as "Angelo" was very caring, courteous and had the best attitude I have ever witnessed. The housekeeping staff was fantastic as they were prompt and helpful.
Anna at the lobby was very helpful and polite. Also Moises at the main entrance was very friendly in sharing his knowledge about places to go.
The location and service was very refreshing for us and we will definitely be looking to make this venue our preferred spot for all future visits.

My fiancée and I were for the second time in Las Terrenas and we were very disappointed. It was a short trip of three nights.
Pros
The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. It’s in a great location near by beautiful beaches.
We had a deluxe suite with terrace which was nice and decent.
Cons
The arrival day after a long trip we decided to go to the rooftop jacuzzi and we realized it was dirty and all the chairs were covered by birds dropping. We understood it was because we went aroun 5 PM and let the front desk know, Also the jacuzzi was off and it supposed to be on until 8pm even we told them they didn’t turn it on.
The food was my biggest disappointment no flavor at all. It could be better and the amount relatively small for the prices.
Only have 4 breakfasts options available. The menu was poorly made. Once we asked for chocolate pancakes and came with oats which was not described in the menu.
The room was cleaned everyday but they didn’t restock the fridge and coffee capsule since the arrival day.
The hand shower didn’t work and the hot water didn’t work properly most of the time.
They don’t have steamers. We asked for an iron and they brought it without the ironing board.
It’s not what you see on social media. I guess we had high expectations that they couldn’t succeed
It could be better if they take care of the property and offer what you paid for. It’s beautiful place but just that. It’s not what you see on social media. I guess we had high expectations that they couldn’t succeed.

This hotel has it all. Romantic small
Pool on roof with excellent service. Rooms with the most comfortable bed I have slept in ( including the ever famous Westin dream bed). And service service service.
Food was out of this world and unlike many hotels they are not using Covid as reason to not to service ,but, instead our staffing more than adequately to service. As a New Yorker with 20 plus years in hotel and tourism industry I can be picky. And this place is HEAVEN especially now. Even my over cautious partner relaxed. And Great AC which we loved in hot August

We visited the hotel two days before our stay. We were shown several suites. We booked and paid specifically, Suite #301. When we got to the hotel, on the first day of our stay, Suite #301 had been given to someone else.
They did give us a refund and a perk but it was still not the room we really wanted. Not the sitting area we were hoping for and the larger balcony/terrace. Very disappointing!
The room and bathroom were comfortable but the temperature in the shower constantly fluctuated from scorching hot to cold, several times while showering. Annoying to say the least. There was a safety deposit box, a fridge and bottled water replenished daily. Our balcony was very nice with views of the hills.
The two pools were very nice but the water was colder than expected. The breakfast was a la carte and adequate!. We dined one evening at the hotel restaurant and the food was very good. Lovely romantic ambiance if you dined al fresco.
There is parking if needed and an elevator for the higher floors.
Overall, we had an enjoyable 4 night stay.

Outstanding service. The hotel is cozy, beautiful, full of details in every space. The food is absolutely extraordinary. The beach is not far away but you need transportation (just what I’was looking for).
Ah! ah! and they have a rigorous protocol in place to avoid covid-19. they make you feel protected but aware of the situation.

This is a very pleasant hotel, beautifully decorated. The rooms are lovely and the rooftop is very pleasant. The breakfast was good. On the downside, the restaurant was a disappointment as the menu was over complicated, expensive and not very good. There are no other restaurants around and one needs to drive to get anywhere. The swimming pool is too cold but of course you can drive to excellent beaches.

What a pity! So we left for the New Year, certainly the hotel is new and small, what we were looking for, but the rooms overlooking the road noisy 24 hours a day no thank you, the à la carte breakfast with coffee and a baby croissant is very limit, a swimming pool at. Shade why not but you have to ask for deckchairs even for the mini swimming pool on the roof top, (bar closed) and 4 deckchairs max
In short, once there we took (like everyone else) transfers every morning to go out and see the sea, be careful it's a budget of 10€ per trip even for the 2km which separate us from the sea.
And to top it off, no hot water if the hotel is full!
In short, we came thanks to the booking rating 9.2!! !and photos but it’s a failure
I would have warned you

It is a charming hotel with about 25 rooms that eliminate the overwhelmed feeling of large hotels. The workers, reception, restaurant... lovely. Impeccable cleanliness. Very intimate and quiet atmosphere. A flirty and comfortable hotel.
