Detailed Reviews
This neat and very safe place is situated on a quiet street a short walk from the beach. Run by a French lady who keeps the place in very good order, including telling guests to rinse off sand from their feet before entering the rooms. Mostly French clientele.

We really enjoyed this place in Las Terrenas, so much that we actually stayed here twice (after a brief detour to Las Galeras).
This is a very comfortable and clean B&B, located close to the beach promenade and Pueblo de Pescadores (tons of restaurants). The main beach is only 4-5min away by walking (and it only takes 15min to reach Playa Poppy).
The owner couple are friendly and can help out with various tours/excursions in this area.

Great location in town. It was far enough away from the noisy road, but close enough to several restaurants. Lovely hosts. Nice small pool. Breakfast is mediocre, but enough. I appreciated their COVID precautions. Our family of 5 had plenty of room in our apartment.

arrive SDQ mon 14 may 07. 1 bag missing. rented a car, told las terrenas was 4 hr drive, more like 8. arrive rincon de abi 10 pm. noone answered. had to find other accomodation. tues i call el rincon, spoke with arnaud, told him about my lost bag,he said the airline called and would deliver. they did but it was after 10 and arnaud would not take delivery, he finally did on wed.wed. checked out of our other accom and went to el rincon. the room was beyond minimalist, it was stark. a bed, no a c, 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel for 2 people, no lamps, no tv, no phone, the only lights were 1 sticking out of the wall 3 ft over the bed and 1 in the bath. i had paid arnaud 1000 pesos cash(he answered the door with only pants on). the last straw-- put my luggage on the bed, from under the sheets--5 or6 roaches went running. my wife and i took of like bonnie and clyde. back to aligio bch. hotel and civilization. we paid exactly double for the aligio but worth every bit. we stayed for 10 days.

The hotel itself was ok and in a wonderful location but the owner did not make us feel welcome. She also did not speak English or Spanish (we are fluent in both), the least she could do is to learn proper Spanish. We were also very disappointed with the breakfast. We have stayed there for a week and every day there was the same breakfast (toast, awful jam, eggs and couple of peaces of one maybe two fruits. Next time i will choose another hotel.

The place itself is actually very decent, so if you, like most people I suppose, only care about the quality of accommodations, it wouldn't be the worst choice in Las Terrenas ( although I stayed at better ). I, personally, wouldn't not stay there again, because the owner ( or general manager, whoever the French woman running the place is ) is quite obnoxious and not pleasant to deal with at all.
As I read through the reviews to see what others think, I see that her response to the recent negative post perfectly demonstrates what she is like. Good to see proof in writing.
I will take my business elsewhere.

While the rooms are clean and the location central, this is about the only recommendation I can give.
The decoration is so austere that the rooms have less charm as a prison cell (except I imagine you are least supplied with soap in jail)
The included "breakfast" was stale bread and jam and orange juice that was as sour as the owner.
They advertise themselves as having wi-fi but when I asked for the password, I was grilled about when we were leaving the hotel and Las Terrenas. Perhaps they thought I would be hanging around in the bushes after we left with my laptop to access the internet. The owner insisted on typing the password into my computer herself and when it didn't work, shrugged and walked off.
My friend with whom I was traveling with asked if he could see the grounds of the hotel after breakfast and the owner demanded to know why he wanted to see them (in French) even though we were in a Spanish speaking country and we both spoke excellent Spanish and English.

As part of our honeymoon my husband and I revisited El Ricon de Abi having stayed there in 2011. Sadly the price that we reserved the room at on booking.com was $10 less than the owner insisted we pay. We didn't feel particularly welcome even though I tried my best to speak French with the owner as she surprisingly doesn't speak much Spanish or English (we are fluent in both). Seems quite ignorant as it's a Spanish speaking country. The room was fine, very modern with ac but what annoyed me and my husband (after a very long journey) was being woken up and reminded that breakfast (which was miserly) closed at 10 on the dot and that we had to leave by 10.30. We were made fully aware of these times when we checked in and felt like we were being shooed out to make room for the next guests. It is interesting to note that others have also noted the unfriendliness of the owner towards paying guests. Despite a lovely setting and rooms we would not stay here again. A Dominican run establishment would be far more appreciative of your business and much cheaper!
