We stayed here for 5nights on "Luna" room (one of the cottages that had 2 rooms). The "Hotel" is actually composed of ~15 cottages and situated across the street from the las terrenas beach. The units are clean and simple. The price is fair. But the two assets would be quiet and security. Quiet meant, no motoconchos zooming around and guaguas honking all day. Not to mention not much rosters waking you up at 3am! The place also has a security. We didnt understand the necessity of this until I came up with several news regarding rape, burglary, and robbery especially against tourists at las terrenas. I also learned more about this upon talking to people who lives in las terrenas. The security is actually very professional as he walks every night from the start of his shift at 7-8pm until the next morning. A few times I was at the balcony hanging out just drinking until 3am and still saw him walking around! (in some countries, security people would just sleep during night shifts!). I saw the security person every night doing a great job. And the reason why Im giving him a lot of credit!

The only minor issue was the internet connection and tv. Internet was slow (maybe due to being overwhelmed by way too many users) and tv reception was just complete haze. Otherwise I would have give this place 5stars.

The all place was really nice, beautiful gardens giving a real feeling of tropical life. 30 mts from the beach, colourfull plants and birds. I stayed a couple of days sharing the cottage with two friends and I didn't wanna leave! Very clean. A toilet, small kitchenette with a small fridge..... good enough!
I love it and if I go back to Las Terrenas I will be back there. Very good price too!

Nice place! Small clean "Dominican style" rooms with tiny bathroom in a middle of tropical garden with hundreds of flowers and birds.

Good:
just 1100 pesos for room per night (on high season);
booking without standard 50% prepay;
20m from ocean;
200m from bus stop;
polite manager (or owner) answering on emails very fast;
armed guards at night;
2 cats live near reception; :)
next door to hotel are Pizza Coco place with good pizza and Big Dan's Cafe with excellent hamburgers.

Ok:
towels are clean but not white;
ceiling fan instead of air conditioner;
walls are thick and you can hear anything around house, but since it's absolutely silent at night and mostly at daytime, this is not a problem;
small cafe near reception works only at morning, but coffee is good!

Bad:
weak WiFi signal, it's not covering all territory (but near reception it's good).

Will definitely stay at this place again!

Great garden, rooms of different standards and different prices, hot water. There is a bar where you can buy a very regular breakfast, coffee or tea. The rooms are pretty and clean, the staff is helpful and nice. It can be noisy, depending on the traffic at night and hotel guests.

Great place to spend a weekend and explore all of Las Terrenas' most beautiful hidden beaches such as Coson and Playa Bonita. Very simple but relaxing environment, 20 meters from the beach. The only thing I did not appreciate is the breakfast which is not included in the hotel room price.

We took the 2nd floor room at the house in the middle. We can catch the free WIFI in the room.It is good value option. Can see ocean from room and have balcony. Bathroom is big and have always hot water.Room has only fan but it was enough. Nice garden and in the evenings they have security guard with gun. Near to the good Italian restaturant Coco Pizza,just 20m. Just 30m to beach nad 100m to place when can take gua gua. We take from them horse riding to el Limon,it was nice. Plus for safe in the room!

remind, this is in LAS TERRENAS! why is it in Santo domingo on Tripadvisor?

Our stay at Casa Robinson was a great start to our Caribbean vacation. We stayed here for 6 nights in May 2012 in a one bedroom apartment with kitchenette. The apartment was really spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed to make coffee, breakfast and Cuba Libre! Mostly we hung out in the hammock, reading and chilling. It was quiet, but there were a lot of noisy quads on the road next to the hotel.
The staff -and everyone else we met in the Domenican Republic- was really friendly and helpful, but it helps to know some basic Spanish.
The whole complex is well maintained, with all kinds of tropical plants and some kitties roaming the place. At night, a watchman with a gun makes sure nothing bad happens :)
There is a pizza place (Coco's is the name, I think), and another excellent restaurant called Le Tre Caravelles nearby. I would recommend this hotel, the price is right and it has everything one needs for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment away from the street, that should be quieter (because of the quads).

Booked a night at Casa Robinson, but turned up to find that my reservation had been cancelled, due to staff mistake. This is understandable, but when I then asked staff for advice on finding further accomodation, they just srugged their shoulders (this being at night and not knowing the area). After disagreement, one person finally offered to call another hotel (Hotel El Rincon de Abi - which I thoroughly recommend over this place, and it's cheaper), but there was a very negative and reluctant vibe given out by staff! I am sure this is a great place to stay - just make sure your reservation is confirmed or you will receive appalling service. Also consider El Rincon (50m down the road)!

I really liked this place. It is very cheap, however, you wouldn't be able to tell if you hadn't payed the bill. There is someone at the desk to help you all night, a cheap breakfast option in the morning, and it is very close to the beach. They are pretty relaxed about when you pay and check in. Power can sometimes go out, but they have backup lights that run off battery. Overall, this is a great place to use as a base camp. Las Terrenas has a lot of eating, beaching, activity options that will make you want to get out of any hotel you stay in.

Nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean and the price is right. The location is great, being close to town and only a block from the beach. There was some confusion with our reservation, so we ended up with a much smaller room than we had wanted, and it was without a kitchenette, but it turned out to be just fine. The ceiling fan kept us cool, and the noise didn't bother us too much. The grounds are beautiful, and they serve a nice breakfast.
