Great location, views of mountains, and a 2 min walk into old quaint Arrowtown, 15 min drive to Queenstown, and closer than Queenstown for activities as Shotover jet boat, and the Hackett bridge bungy.
Two rooms, we were upgraded to the pretty one, lots of nice touches, fresh flowers in room, chocolates, white towels beautifully presented in basket on bed, and changed each day. Our room had a small area off it, which contained a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities which we used. When we arrived at the Old Villa we were welcomed by our host with tea/coffee and homemade cake in the garden. Our room also had a private outside sitting area with chairs and small garden. Check out photos on Charming bed and breakfast New Zealand site, it really is a gem.

Beautifully decorated, with gorgeous gardens, this place is a perfect! Very close to town, but wonderfully quiet. June and Archie gave us lots of valuable advice about things to see and do in Arrowtown. The town is so beautiful and interesting, and I can't help thinking we struck gold by finding this place.......it has to be the best accommodation in town ; )

June and Archie are such good hosts that we didn't want to leave!

The villa is set a short walk (about 5 mins) away from the centre of Arrowtown in a peaceful residential street. It is June and Archie's home, with two pretty guest rooms at the front, a large living/sun room and kitchen area to the rear and their separate living quarters upstairs. From the moment of arriving you are treated like family rather than paying customers - so much so that we almost forgot to pay when we went home!!

We took the smaller room, which has its own little patio. If you fancy the larger room, don't worry that it doesn't have a patio as there is a large seating area in the back garden anyway. With only two guest rooms, it is easy to chill out and have privacy, and we found our stay very relaxing.

Breakfast is a lovely homemade affair and differed slightly everyday, depending upon what June had been baking. Lots of it was made from their own produce (they have an allotment) - even the jam was homemade. It was also fun to chat to June, Archie and the other guests each morning, and we sat out in the garden with Archie one afternoon and had a drink and a chat.

When it was time to move on to our next destination we were very sad to leave. What a lovely place and lovely people. Thanks June and Archie!

We felt very privileged to spend one night at June and Arch's place.

It really felt like we were visiting an uncle and an aunt we had not seen for a long time, they make you feel at ease very quickly without being intrusive.

Breakfast was amazing ! Fresh pancakes and homemade marmalade almost brought tears to my eyes :)

Could not believe Old Villa is only 20 years old. This very cute cottage has been so lovingly built with recycled timbers etc that truly, it could well be one hundred years old. Hosts Archie and June are so friendly and genuinely welcome you into their home and generously share their local knowledge with guests. One of the nicest, friendliest B&B's you could ever stay at. No wonder they have many repeat customers. Enjoy lingering over a wonderful array of fruit, yoghurt and cooked breakfast choices. If planning to stay in Arrowtown, you will not find better than Old Villa with Archie and June

She welcomed us in and made us feel so at home. The room was adorable and comfortable. The internet was better than almost anywhere we stayed. She gave us such good tips and guidance. We loved talking to her over breakfast as well and sharing stories. She made a tasty breakfast full of homemade goodies. She also let us do our laundry and even helped by moving it when some rain blew in. She is the sweetest person and will make you feel right at home. Arrowtown itself is also well worth a visit. It is a quaint and historic town with great sights, shopping and nightlife. June lives a short walk from the main drag. For me, staying in Arrowtown at the Old Villa was much nicer than anywhere we stayed in Queenstown. I can highly recommend it.

A lovely, artistic home with wonderful gardens reflecting the warmth and interest Archie & June take in receiving their guests. We felt right at home with their welcome & afternoon tea before setting out for some exploring & exercise. Breakfast was delicious, offering a wonderful variety & we left vowing to return for a longer stay. Thank you!

We stayed with Arch & June in April during the Arrowtown Festival. Although they were busy with their activities to support the town events they made us very welcome. We had wonderful breakfasts and were made to feel at home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely B&B to any mature couples who want to relax away from the adrenalin of Queenstown. They didn't ask us to write a review unlike some other B&Bs & motels.

We stayed three nights in the charming classically decorated Suite 2 with a large queen bed and a single bed as well, plus two chairs for relaxing (20m2). The ensuite bathroom (5.5m2) was lovely and equally stylish decorated with a copper cistern and old lion-claw bathtub. Various bath-oils and something like 10 towels to choose from. The bed linen was extra fine quality and with real down covers. Coffee/tea facility, small fridge and good Wifi connection. Really quiet and just a short walk from the picturesque and historic village. Such a difference from busy Queenstown.
The house is newly built in old style according to the historic village centre requirements. We enjoyed having tea and home-made muffins with June and Arch outdoors on the patio. Being wakened up with the smell of freshly baked bread each morning was wonderful. The fully cooked breakfast was grand with many of the delicious ingredients (jams and preserves) made from their own garden. One evening was spent talking with to June and Arch in front of the fireplace in the cosy living room with a fine bottle of wine and little snacks (again with home-made chutney!). They had two mountain bikes for our use, but we were too busy doing all possible scary activities in Queens town.
Eating in Arrowtown has a variety of possibilities, but you can also have your late snack in nearby Queenstown which is much cheaper and has a larger variety of pubs and cafés We recommend the 1875 Bar & Restaurant in the Old Courthouse on Ballarat Street – very reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere.
