What a great place to stay in Hastings. Far enough away from the city for peace and quiet, and close enough to all major attractions. Clean and tidy with great space and airiness, well-appointed kitchen, very comfortable and livable self-contained separate cottages. Great service from Carol and Max.
We booked the day before our arrival, and were pleased to find a property like Bluebell available for two nights. Entrance isn't the easiest to find; we had to make a second pass (it's easier to see coming from Havelock North). The cottage was clean and comfortable if a bit small, but this wasn't a real issue. Carol (the owner) was very friendly and accommodating (the Rush Munro's ice cream on arrival is a nice touch!). Our cottage (closest to house) could use more storage. Good, strong, hot shower and very comfortable bed. The cottage had no kitchen (tea/coffee station and small refrigerator only) nor laundry, but you can ask Carol for assistance with these. Carol also can provide coupons for free wine tasting at a nearby vineyard, along with many suggestions for local…
I have been staying at the Bluebell for some time now and never been disappointed. The rooms are clean, comfortable and a lot of thought has gone into fitting them out with almost everything on hand you need in the kitchen. The hosts are just lovely - always on hand if you need anything (which usually they have thought of beforehand anyway). The setting is fantastic with orchard and paddocks surrounding the accommodation and its just a short drive to Havelock or the motorway.
Friendly and welcoming hosts. Clean. About 5km from Havelock North. Good proximity to local areas. Awesome shower and comfy bed . Nice view out towards the paddocks and orchard. A home away from home. Would stay again.
Hadn't booked ahead for Hawke's Bay so we arrived early evening and weren't too impressed by much of the accommodation on offer so it was nice to find a self catering unit available. We selected the 2 bedroom unit (although there's only 2 of us) and having been restauranted out we were pleased to be able to visit the supermarket in Havelock North & enjoy a nice meal & bottle of local wine in the very well equipped kitchen/diner. The fruit smell from the orchard next door was an added bonus
